Recently we came here to buy a cake for a special occasion like usual and we've never had an issue until our recent purchase had a fuzzy moldy strawberry on it. I found it crazy how though it was already visibly moldy, they still decided to place the strawberry there rather than not replacing it with a fresh strawberry. Lady on the phone said it wouldn't contaminate the cake but mold spreads quickly. We asked for a refund and was only given a $5 dollar discount on the next purchase. To mention, the lady said it could have been because we didn't store it in the fridge and eventually got moldy... we had it in the fridge and strawberries don't mold in the span of 2 days. We've had left strawberries outside in the fridge before and they were still fresh in the span of two days...

If I could give 10 out of 5 stars, I would. This is my go-to bakery for every occasion when I need a cake. The cake is light and moist; the frosting is light and not unbearably sweet. I needed a full sheet cake, so chose half of it to be triple chocolate and the other half was fruit basket. Since it was such a large cake, I didn't have a freezer large enough, and it wouldn't be served for a few hours after I picked it up, they put it in the freezer for me after it was baked and decorated. It was completely thawed out by the time I served it a few hours later and perfect to serve. My guests were absolutely delighted with the cake and some even came back for seconds.

Divine Desserts never disappoints! I go to them for a specialized cake on every single birthday party my kids have! I love the chocolate and raspberry flavor! They also do an AMAZING job decorating the cake, it turned out better than what I expected! Thank you!

Ooh the chocolate Grenache on these cakes makes a perfect complement to the cakes/pastry. Chocolate Decadent was a brownie with chocolate mousse. I prefer my brownie ala mode. Have to go early for best selection. Late afternoon was busy with everyone picking up their cake orders.

I am so happy to have found this little local gem!! So, I am a Freeport Bakery gal, but since we moved to this area, it's been a hassle driving to Sacramento to pick up cake for events when I'm already scrambling to get stuff ready. I did some Yelp research after being disappointed with some of the local bakeries, and found the is place. First, when you pick up your cake... just wow! The smell is pure heaven!! Second, the prices are extremely reasonable! Third, I got two cakes here last week, and both knocked it out of the park. The first was the triple chocolate and the second was a strawberry and custard one. Both were great, but the strawberry was amazing. Everyone LOVED it!

I consider myself a bakery aficionado, and have driven to Tahoe on I-80 perhaps 500 times in my 50+ years of driving, so I was flabbergasted to find such an excellent morning goodie spot so close to the freeway. Awesome and very reasonably priced danish, pastries, sweet rolls, strudel, and all manner of elegant desserts, in a cute little house, with a cheerful and efficient counter person. I intend to make up for lost time, and stop as often as possible going forward. read more

Got a birthday cake for a surprise party. Orange truffle. I did a sketch with a campfire on the cake in honor of our retired firefighter friend. Not only did the cake look amazing, the flavors were fantastic. Service was pleasant and patient, and the cake was ready right on schedule. Our whole party was delighted with it! For a pretty large cake of absolutely the highest quality, we paid less than $50. Orange truffle is an option on their regular menu. Cake was moist, mousse was magical, icing incredible. Bakeries in Poland create great art every day. I didn't think an American bakery could meet the VERY high Polish standard, but this one did!! read more

Reached out multiple times to this bakery for a very simple cake with over a months' notice but while they would take details of what I wanted, they could never confirm my order, because they were constantly waiting for Esther to call me back, and obviously, she never did. Divine Desserts by Aguirre has always been my go-to bakery when I need something quick like for the office or to take to a friend's house for coffee and a visit. Their pastries are always so so yummy and decadent. This time we ordered a white cake with the berry filling for my Daughter's graduation. It was heaven according to everyone who had a piece. Light, fluffy, moist and the berry cream in the middle was just as fantastic. A hit with even those who do not like cake. Here I am 4 days later and my husband brings me the only piece left of the cake. I simply didn't have time to eat much of anything that day let alone cake. Even on day 4, and after being in the refrigerator, the cake is soft, light and fluffy and the center cream is heaven. Thank you for the amazing cake from a non-cake lover. Leslie helped me place an order for a custom birthday cake with strawberry champayne. She was very prompt and helpful despite being very busy. The cake was ready on time. Initially, I had wish there was more color on our Frida Kahlo, a Mexican artist, design, because she is an artist, but Divine Desserts captured her portrait beautifully and it was delicious! We phoned in a cake order a week in advance and they were able to accommodate us. We first heard about them after trying their cake at a friend's party and wanted to have one for our own event as well. We ordered an 8" round strawberry champagne cake and it was delicious. We have since been back to try their pastries from the case and those were great, too. The apple strudel was the favorite. read more

I am a very picky dessert buyer. I try very hard not to overindulge, but with discovering how great this place is, I just might have to reconsider. I stopped in yesterday on my way to Roseville to see what it was like, and was more than surprised at how fantastic their product is. I am in an area where supermarket bakery items or only a few choices for baked goods are available. I do not care for pastry with no sugar -- it is tasteless. Most supermarket pies, pastry, etc. is loaded with so many preservatives I really don't want to buy them. One market, in particular, has items that taste like old flour was used. I also refuse to pay $36.00 for an apple pie (not at a market). I bought a sampling of some items just to see what they were like. The linzer cookies were right on! Light, filled correctly, and very tasty. The Italian wedding cookies were right on as well. They took me back to a friend's mom in my youth who made them for Christmas. The apple strudel was great! The pastries were done right. Wonderful! I have sampled pastries in Paris, and other areas in France where pastry is an art form, and this place rivals some of the best I had there. Definitely recommend this place. After you find it, you'll be back too. read more

Tremendous thanks and a huge shout out for Divine Desserts by Aguirre. After another local "boutique" bakery bailed on a 21st birthday celebration cake only twenty four hours before pick up, I was at a total loss. Ana and Esther at Divine Desserts were nothing short of amazing; understanding, helpful and extremely professional. The cake that they created with LESS than twenty fours hours notice was gorgeous, delicious and half the price of the original cake. (I'd had their individual desserts before, but never a traditional cake.) There truly are some great people in our community. read more

I love this bakery!!! Not only for their amazing baked goods but for their phenomenal customer service. We wanted a birthday cake that was not too sugary and actually had flavor. And boy did they deliver on the flavor. We had been recovering after Covid weeks prior and had forgotten to order a cake for my daughters birthday. We called and they were out. But OFFERED to make one for the SAME DAY. Who does that anymore? Couldn't believe how how nice they were. I've been wanting to return to this fantastic bakery. Look at these beautiful pastries!!!! So glad that they're still in business. The eclair had buttercream or something and not that gooey custard. Divine Desserts in Loomis is out of this world not only do they make cakes look so pretty but their flavors are filled with goodness. The place has such a cool vibe I would rather buy from this family business than to go to another chain bakery. The husband and wife that own the place are very hard working they take great pride in what they do and they are never too busy to say hello. Small gem in the heart of Loomis. Delicious little treats ready in the window or you can place custom orders for pick up. A little more pricey than a grocery store cake but the quality makes it totally worth it! Highly recommend stopping here for a coffee and sweet treat if you've never been! I LOVE ordering cakes here! I love how the workers are super nice and help you understand how it works. My favorite flavors are the Strawberry Champagne and the Lemon! They sell cakes for weddings, first communion/baptism, and incredibly delicious pastries for a affordable reasonable price! The building is quite small but really nice inside. My husband brought home a few treats from here, most of which were really good! We had a couple macarons which weren't the best I have had, but my husband liked them. We also got a chocolate tower, key lime pie, and a raspberry bomb (I didn't go to the shop with him so I'm not sure of the actual names-see photo). The chocolate tower was delicious, smooth mousse and moist chocolate cake. The raspberry bomb was...bomb! One of my favorites. The key lime pie was just alright to the both of us. It just didn't impress as much as the two chocolate options. The shining star of the bunch though was the eclair! Typically, I am not a fan of eclairs. I find them rather boring and plain, but that's because I never had this eclair before. It is filled with custard instead of whip cream and it makes all the difference! I highly recommend you try it! read more

Fruit basket was disappointing Ahold b called blueberry (singular) with citrus flavor cake Had about a dozen blueberries in three layers and a TON of whipped cream w a little bit of custard (allegedly Bavarian cream) Decorations were haphazardly executed and looked embarrassing The cake looked as bad as it tasted Of eight guests only one person said it tasted Ok but would never have the "fruit basket " again Should be renamed blueberry (singular)and cream citrus cake We also ordered eight napoleons that looked pretty but were EXTREMELY sweet and not buttery or flaky Probably day old We had these previously and they were flakey buttery and good Ettore's or Freeport bakeries in Sacramento blow this place away in freshness, taste decorative embellishments and overall quality Note to owners try the chantilly cake at Whole Foods or the fruit basket at Ettore's Both use a variety fruit mainly berries and nothing is funky,tasteless or creamed to death and boring read more

Had a great experience with Divine Desserts. I ordered my daughter's birthday cake from here and they were very accommodating to our custom order both with flavor selection and design. I emailed some photos of horses and they did a beautiful hand drawn interpretation. We ordered red velvet with layers of ganache and buttercream with a dense whipped cream frosting. It was very moist, delicious and much thicker than we anticipated. The price was reasonable for the level of quality and great customer service. read more

History

Established in 2006.

My husband and myself,have been in this business for 29 years. Javier started in a bakery in Reno, Nenada with a Austrain pastry chef and worked there for 10 years he then moved to Calif.and worked doing desserts for hotels and restaurants he did that for 15 years and that place was sold so he decided that we put up of own bakery. I ,Esther, started in a small traning program in 1981 and finishing the program started to work at retail stores in the bakery I also taught at a culinary school in the early 1990's.We now have been open 4 years in August and doing well thanks to God and all our customers which are very supported and great.

Instead, I got some donut holes and a chocolate croissant. The nice lady had a thick accent, but we got things figured out, and she even threw in some extra donut holes for me. The donut holes were incredible. Absolutely melt in your mouth. Perfection. The chocolate croissant was not flaky or crispy, but had that classic donut shop chewy texture, and of course, was loaded with chocolate. I HAVE to come back for the apple fritter, as that's one of my favorite donuts, and the cinnamon rolls look insane. I will be back!

I've seen friendlier expressions on bulls during branding season. What makes this especially frustrating is that the tasting room wasn't even busy -- there were maybe three other couples there besides our group. This wasn't staff being overwhelmed. It simply came across as lazy, disengaged, and rude service. The only thing flowing less than the hospitality was the wine pours. What surprised us most is that we've visited several other local wineries in the area over the years and have consistently experienced warm hospitality, friendliness, and genuine customer care. So this experience really stood out -- and not in a good way. Usually wine country feels welcoming. Here, we felt like a herd that wandered into the wrong pasture. Such a shame because the location and concept have so much potential, and we really wanted to support a local winery so close to home. Sadly, our guests left just as disappointed as we did.
