History
Established in 2009.
If you want to go WAY back, I'd say I got my start the first time my folks gave me a set of LEGOs to play with; from that point on, the creative juices never stopped flowing. In 2006, I needed a table for an odd-shaped space in my apartment in Olympia, WA. I started taking woodworking classes at night at the Evergreen State College with Daryl Morgan, a highly accomplished craftsman, teacher, father, and friend. When I graduated in 2007, I set up shop at my house on on Division St. in NW Olympia and started building furniture for myself and my friends. In 2009, I moved to Portland and officially started my woodworking business under the name Division Street Works; I think it's important to remember and pay homage to where you start, regardless of how important or rich or famous you eventually become (take a lesson from this, professional sports stars!). In 2011, I moved to my present location, a 1000 sq/ft commercial shop near the Kenton neighborhood.
Meet the Business Owner: Todd K.
Todd Kimmich is the owner and craftsman at Division Street Works. With an eye for simplistic design, hard work, help from friends and family, and some luck, he has grown Division Street into the successful woodworking business it is today. He is a musician, a disc golfer, an avid crossword-puzzler, and a proponent of the energy benefits of the mid-day siesta.
