When you're in Fort Myers or Cape Coral area, you just have to try Dixie's. It was a beautiful day, with beautiful weather for al fresco dining. We came here with my BF's parents and enjoyed everything. The mussels appetizer was incredible; I can drink that broth. Grouper cheeks were just as delicious, and I got the whole fish again, and their Bloody Mary is bloody good! I love this place. Service was awesome!

Great service! Open air establishment with a Southern vibe true to the name. We ordered three appetizers because we couldn't decide: grouper cheeks, popcorn shrimp and fried green tomatoes. Amazing all around. Dawn also recommended the one and only Key Lime Pie and it didn't disappoint! This will be a destination for us every time we visit.

Love the grouper cheeks, it's my favorite thing here. Stone crab claws were yummy and the burger was big, not as good as last time, a little dry. The chowder was absolutely what i needed on a cold day.

We ordered the calamari, hogfish, crab cake sandwich, and a daiquiri. The highlight of the meal was definitely the hogfish -- it was excellent and I really enjoyed trying something local. It was well prepared and easily the standout dish. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience didn't quite measure up. The calamari came out cold, and the accompanying sauce felt generic and underwhelming. The crab cake sandwich had a similar issue -- it lacked freshness and depth of flavor. The daiquiri was decent, but not quite what we were expecting. Overall, only one of the dishes felt truly worth the trip. While I'm glad I tried it, I wouldn't personally return.

Enjoyed the toasted coconut colada and spicy mango marg. The loaded homemade chips were good but would have liked the toppings to stick to the chips just a little more. Had the coconut crusted grouper. It had great flavor but was so flaky it was liked finely chopped pieces you could hardly get on a fork.

Have wanted to go here for a long time. Love the location on the back bay of Fort Myers Beach by the crab boats. Great relaxing environment. We went for lunch and did not have to wait to be seated. Service was very attentive. They even have local beers, love the support for our breweries. We got the grouper Reuben sandwich and grouper tacos. Our friend got the whole fried fish. All of our meals were cook well. The grouper of Ruben was delicious. Overall we really enjoyed our lunch and will definitely be back.

Absolutely fantastic experience at Dixie Fish Company! Two of us shared the shrimp appetizer to start, and the sauce was so good we were talking about it the rest of the meal. Perfect flavor and a great way to kick things off. I had the fish and chips, which were crispy, fresh, and cooked perfectly. She ordered the grouper dinner, and it was absolutely outstanding -- fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Every bite of everything we ordered was amazing. The atmosphere was relaxed and fun, the service was great, and the food completely lived up to the hype. If you're in Fort Myers Beach, this place is a must-visit. We'll definitely be back!

Got seated right away at 2:30 pm. Perfect weather and outdoor type seating. Joel was out server and he did a great job. Food came out hot and fast. Perfectly crisp grouper and fries, slaw. I give it an 8.5 overall.

Rode the bus across the bridge and then walked a little ways to get to this great place because parking is difficult. It was around noon on Sunday & we were able to be seated waterside. Guys had Yingling and we started with the best smoked fish dip. I had yummy Yucatán tacos with their chips and hubby believe it or not - - smoked chicken wings. They ate delicious said our waiter and they absolutely were! Friends had a grouper sandwich with fries that they shared. Our waiter was so friendly and outgoing. It was a beautiful place. The food was delicious.

I stumbled upon this bar right by the water, and the setting is stunning--especially with the Christmas lights during the holidays. I sat at the bar and had a fantastic experience thanks to the bartender; she was the highlight of the night and incredibly helpful with beer recommendations. Speaking of, the beer was delicious! I also ordered the fish and chips, and the portions are massive. While the fries were great, the fish was just "okay" for me--nothing special compared to others I've had--but the atmosphere and service more than made up for it.

During most of our Sanibel trips, we tend to stay on-island for meals. This time, we ventured off to Fort Myers Beach to try The Dixie Fish Company -- and we're glad we did. It's wild to think this place traces its roots back to the 1930s. I'm not sure if it has always been in this exact spot, but my in-laws used to vacation near DFC and always raved about the food. We arrived at 5:30pm on a Friday and were quoted about a 45-minute wait for a table for four -- and they were pretty spot-on. As we walked through the space, the energy was undeniable. Live music, bustling tables, and a crowd clearly having fun. It stayed packed the entire time we were there. We kicked things off with the Moonshine Mussels (do yourself a favor and request extra bread -- that sauce is liquid gold) and the Loaded Chips, drizzled with tangy blue cheese. Then came the unexpected highlight: Stone Crab Claws -- fresh, cold, and absolutely incredible. For entrées, we enjoyed: * Cajun Shrimp Pasta * Build-Your-Own Shrimp Entrée * Yucatan Shrimp Every dish was vibrant, flavorful, and generously portioned. The only minor miss was pacing -- it took around 20 minutes before drinks arrived, and we weren't sure if our server had gone MIA. But once beverages hit the table, service found its rhythm and the rest of the meal flowed smoothly. Warm vibes, great seafood, and a lively waterfront setting -- we'll absolutely return.

You want waterfront dining with a laid-back vibe? Pull up a chair at Dixie Fish Company, because this is it. Started with the Moonshine Mussels and there's a reason this is their best seller. Plump, tender mussels swimming in an apple moonshine and white wine broth, seasoned with fennel, yellow onions, grape tomatoes, and chorizo, all topped with crispy garlic bread for soaking up every last drop. At $14.95? That's a steal. This appetizer alone is worth the trip. The drink game here is strong. We went with the Mangrove Mule, the Toasted Coconut Colada, and the Rum Runner all favorites, all on point. They've got a solid selection of draft and bottled beers too. The draft wasn't flowing this trip, but we weren't drinking beer anyway so no harm done. For the main event, we hit the mahi mahi taco special with guacamole and a side of rice and beans. Amazing. Fresh fish, perfectly seasoned, the kind of tacos that make you close your eyes and just appreciate the moment. Full disclosure: we ate one taco before remembering to take a picture. That's how good they were, couldn't help ourselves. The whole experience here is just... easy. Water views, chill atmosphere, great food, strong drinks. No pretense, no fuss. Just good times on the water. The Verdict: Dixie Fish Company nails the waterfront seafood vibe. The Moonshine Mussels are a must, the mahi tacos are incredible (get them before we eat yours), and the drinks keep flowing. Five stars for a spot that feels like a mini vacation every time we visit.

A nice find in Ft Myers! Many options on the menu especially if you like fish. The whole fried fish option is unique and if you can handle the head and the tail, it's a must try. The service and the ambiance were a typical casual seafood spot. Definitely a favor local hangout spot!

This is the meal I will be waiting for and purposely booking another trip to Fort Myers for! I was so full and just kept eating it was sooo good! Highly recommend. These were not things I would normally go for. The blacked red fish with succotash had this amazing cream sauce. I could drink it. It was perfect. And the shrimp with sausage was just spicy enough but soooo flavorful. I used the bread to soak up the extra sauce it was so good. My husband is kinda a perfectionist when it comes to steak whether he cooks it at home or we go to a fancy restaurant, and he was impressed with the balance of how it was cooked and no much seasoning making the perfect flavor and texture of steak. And normally a meal this big I wouldn't agree to the dessert, but no regrets there either. I'm like 97% sure that ice cream was even homemade. It was all so delicious! Also, the waiter was so nice. She did a great job explaining the menu and also was asked us if we wanted to go drinks which she did an awesome job mixing our half and half tea so of course we said yes.
