Wow! I cannot stop talking about this place. It was worth a stop and I definitely will be coming back here again. The waitress was phenomenal. The seating hostess was kind and they had people moving in and out of there quickly so that you weren't waiting forever. I love that they even had a posted policy that you couldn't linger for 20 minutes after your meal was through so the others could get into the restaurant. They only serve breakfast and brunch, which I love because they specialize. The restaurant is older, but you could tell that they tried to keep it looking nice and the decor adds to the ambiance. We ordered the Cap N' Crunch French Toast and it was fun and delicious. The baguette added the perfect texture and balance. We also ordered the breakfast nachos and the sauces are drinkable! So good! We came in at about 8:45 on Mother's Day, table for two and we only waited 15 minutes (there were a TON of parties who were coming in for the holiday, so it was totally fair). Flowers for moms, super cute. Oh - be sure to have your whole party there. Menu was varied enough - we kinda were trying to be healthier, so we got egg-based dishes (California scramble for me, and one of the omelette for him). they were pretty good - but honestly, after watching everyone else's food come out.... I wish I would have got one of the French toast dishes!!! They looked wild (re: huge!!!) and delicious. Come hungry, and prepare to bring home leftovers. Coffee was hot, fresh, and topped off often. We called in and talked to Quincy about a large group coming in the day after a wedding, and we weren't sure if there would be enough room for us but they got us in and did it quickly. Quincy ended up being our server and WOW. She didn't mess up a single order, remembered who ordered what, was fun and had great vibes with the whole group. She really showed the ART of great service and went above and beyond for us. THANK YOU AGAIN QUINCY! We had the best experience at Abra's! Portions are huge, and the food is beyond delicious. The peach cobbler French toast was excellent- not too sweet, and so flavorful, with an amazing texture. Service was attentive, although our food did not come out too quickly- but we attribute that to the party of 18 that was seated right before us, lol! I think this is a great place for locals. We ate here because it was rated well and we were in the area. And though we've never considers ourselves snobbish, we also know we've been around the world and lived in some cities that have truly excellent dining. This place may be great for this city, but it's no means anything to write home about. Service was great atmosphere was fine and it's obviously very well attended by those who live here. Good was 8 out of 10! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and just enough food to not need a box. I don't mind leftovers unless it's breakfast. In my opinion, eggs and toast are trash after they cool off. The over-medium eggs on the Basque were perfectly done. The chicken was tender and juicy. The service was great. Great place and our server was super great food was high quality and made with lots of care . To take yall to top tier just work on the seasoning . Food we had seemed like the cook was afraid of seasoning our steak . Most burns off so when you think it's enough you're barely at the half way point . The fried steak was super juicy and very well seasoned the regular sirloin needed a ton more seasoning we got closer to well done than medium but since it was a quality meat it was good enough . The French toast was superb just needed a salt to balance the flavor and when we did it took it out of this world on how good it was . This place has so much potential I'd highly recommend. There was a 20 minute wait on a Saturday morning around 10 am. I got the French toast. This place had the best French toast ever! I got the captain crunch French toast and got it with raspberries instead of the bananas that it comes with. Personally preferred with raspberries because they're tart and cut through the sweetness of everything else. The buttermilk maple syrup on top was so good. She told us it was her second day on the job. What she didn't already know she quickly found out with very positive results. She also had a great sense of humor. We will request her next time!
