we have been coming to Perkins for several years. However noticeably the restaurant itself as well as the dishes have become dirtier and so unsanitary. Each visit we need to ask the server to wipe our table down. it is always sticky. and it never fails that we have to return a fork (that already has dried food on it) or a cup of milk with egg yoke stuck to the inside of the glass. Tonight was no exception. we had to return two mugs for tea that had dried on black something and the pot of hot water was still have full of coffee we are drinking tea (hot water). We returned so many items that are server became iretated. We are no longer Perkins customer until they advertise that they will actually wash the dishes. read more

Food has always been good. Service is usually good. My big problem is with ambiance. Specialty the mens room. I told them several times about the left sink over a period of 1 1/2 years that it did not work. Every time they said, thank you we will get it fixed. The last time I told them and they said we will get it fixed a flat said no you won't I've been telling you this for a year and a half and the next time I came in it was actually fixed. However, the left urinal isn't working correctly. What's wrong with the management in this place?. If the bathrooms aren't working and clean, what does the kitchen look like? read more

Recently I went to Perkins with my mom and daughter. We weren't super hungry so we decided to order some appetizers. After getting the bill, we asked if the charges could be changed to their Build An Appetizer pricing since we had at least 2 of the appetizers to choose from. I understood the difference between the amount of food provided for an appetizer versus the amount of food provided for the Build An Appetizer (which would be less). I asked the "owner" why the waitress couldn't recognize what we were ordering and offer the Build An Appetizer as an option? I told him that would have been fine for us since we ended up having extra food at the end anyway. He kept arguing with me about the issue and was only interested in whichever way would charge the most. Even if the charges hadn't been changed to the Build An Appetizer pricing, as a show of good faith and CUSTOMER SERVICE, he could have provided a discount. Also, once the check was dropped, the waitress never checked back with us about a box, knowing there was still food on the plates. My mom went and asked for a box, which she shouldn't have done. I haven't had an issue with this restaurant before, but today, the "owner" was not a very good representative of the restaurant's values. If the waitress got more training about the menu, she could possibly recognize options for patrons that would save money and she would get better tips. I'm disappointed the "owner" was more interested in money than helping a customer. On a good note, the appetizers were good - the pickle chips have always been a favorite. read more

I drove all the way to Idaho Falls, and after a quick stop to unload the bags, we mounted our assault on Perkins. We were promised a treat upon arrival, and after a little discussion we knew it was pie and Perkins is the place for pie. We parked, went in, and admired the case. There were berry pies and cream pies, but it was immediate, obvious, and unavoidable that the French Silk was going to be the winner. Without really discussing it much, we purchased said pie ($15 or so) and went back to eat it. I'm a simple man with simple pie needs, but this exceeded my expectations of what a chain pie spot might provide. Though I prefer a graham or chocolate crust on my silk pies, the regular crust did just fine, and the chocolate silkiness was really just right--not too sweet, not too dense, not too choocolatey--and the whipped cream on top was really just perfect. Visited Perkins in Idaho Falls, February 15, 2025. Left my purse at the table and as we were traveling, I couldn't exactly where I left it. Last Friday I received a call from Makyla. She was able to find my phone number. Gave me a call. Since I live in Meridian, she said she would box it up and send it to me. She also said she made sure no one looked through my purse or removed anything from it, including my cash. I received my purse today... cash included. I can't thank you enough, Makyla! Food was disappointing today and ho yo this location often. Received bacon and not Sausage. manager said oh well they are same price. Just keep saying well could not be right and was the worst customer service we have seen. Had two coffees but charged us for 4 only two at the table and still nothing but an excuse. was easy to tell this manager does not care and needs a few more years of training. will find other places to visit as this is just not a restraint that knows food like they claim. read more

It's been awhile since I've been to a Perkins. Extensive menu. Summer strawberry specials. Service was good, portions were good size. I tried the strawberry croissant French toast. Very yummy. I can't give any higher than 3 stars Because as I stated, it was just average. I would eat here again if I were in the area for a few days, but Id look for other places to try first. So I went to the restaurant directly, I was greeted by Amanda, she was pleasant and attentive due to the fact she was new to her position and was humble enough to admit it she wasn't sure how to handle the situation she handed me off to the General Manager Travis who handled my order personally. Perkins is one of the regular restaurants that my friend and I go to when we go out to eat and usually the customer service is great and the food is good. However, today it was all awful. I ordered the chicken bacon broccoli pasta with garlic lemon sauce. My friend ordered the chicken fried steak with corn and mashed potatoes. It took a while to come out but they were busy. My pasta sauce had way way too much lemon. I don't know if they added too much lemon juice or what, but it was so overwhelming it was inedible. My friend's steak and potatoes were okay, but the corn was soggy and old. When the waitress came back, I tried to explain to her what was wrong with my pasta but she interjected to tell me the sauce was lemon sauce... I tried to explain that it was too much lemon, and that the cook needed to taste it but again she interrupted me and asked if I want something else, to which I replied I needed to look at the menu again. The waitress started to huff off, and we stopped her to tell her about the corn, she cut off my friend and said "so do you want something else?" My friend had planned to ask to switch the corn for fries but the waitress seemed impatient and so my friend said that would be great and the girl huffed off. We decided we didn't want to bother finding something else to eat, so we went to the cash register to pay for our drinks. While there, I saw the dessert I had planned to order and asked for it to go. As I'm saying this, the waitress came over with a plate with chicken fried steak, potatoes, and corn and told the manager at the counter that they had remade it for her, which was not what she had offered and my friend accepted. Which led to us explaining the whole thing. The manager listened but did not apologize for the food or the impatience of the waitress. And so we paid for our drinks AND dessert and left. read more

My family loves Perkins. It's a very family friendly restaurant . I have a four year old and a two year old so a nice place to go with them is always nice. Their kids menu is well priced and comes with plenty of options. All for either $3.99 or $4.99, these prices also include a dessert of two small cookies (sugar or choc chip). As for the regular menu I am always pleased by the options. I try to try something new each time I go and have honestly never been disappointed. I would have to say our absolute favorite thing about Perkins is their bakery. Our family is a complete sucker for their seasonal Red Velvet Cake Pie $17.00, but worth every penny. My family dreams of this pie it is so good, it's a red velvet cake mixed with cream pie. AMAZING!! Never had anything like it. We told the clueless waitress, which she said the two bad meals would be compd. When my father explained how bad the meal was to the manager on duty she LAUGHED in his face. We might have been able to forgive the meal... but that was extremely unprofessional. Come to find out, they didn't even comp the meals they said they would. So disappointed. The food was very good but I'd like to comment on the service we received. The staff were all so helpful they turned what could have been a stressful situation into an enjoyable experience. My wife got light-headed or weak on her feet when she stood up from the table...on the way for the check out she got very unsteady....when the staff saw that we were struggling to keep from ending up on the floor they were right there helping get her seated and even stayed with her while I retrieved the wheelchair from the truck. All ended up well and we made it home without incident ....thanks to their going above and beyond. I'm really not sure why people like this place. The portions are small, the burgers overcooked and under-seasoned, their pie really isn't that good, and all of their salads are basically just iceberg mix with your choice of dressing. Trying to get in and out is super inconvenient, for some reason there's always a line to get in, and because they only take payments at the counter it's a problem trying to leave if you have anywhere else to go. Payment can be difficult, it would be a lot more convenient if the waitstaff could just take your payment at the table, but they can't for some reason. read more

Once again, the people who work at Perkins went the extra mile. I went in tonight to use my green card for a free meal. The server was very friendly and professional--typical for this business--and she checked back several times to see how my meal was. (Delicious. I love their French toast.) When I went to pay, the ticket came to about two dollars for a drink. I was on auto-pilot and selected 20 percent for the tip, only realizing it was 20 percent for two dollars when it was too late. I asked the cashier if I could use my card to leave a tip for what the meal would have cost without the green card, and she figured out how I could do that.
