Full disclosure, not yet a Persian food connoisseur. So take this rating with a grain of salt. This may be an outlier, may be not, but the meats which we were looking tremendously forward to were all overcooked. Dry, chewy. Now, maybe that is how Persian meats are cooked, so totally respect that. But for me, it was just too overcooked. The salad, soup, black tea, all delicious, without a doubt. The ambiance, vibe, restaurant, excellent. Service excellent. Very friendly, prompt, follow ups. Food for me was 2 stars, + star for the rest. Someone may correct me on thats just the way the meats are cooked traditionally and that is fine, but others should know that to have correct expectations going in.

A memorable new Zabiha Halal Dining Experience Not just food, a full 5-star experience. That's how I'd describe DIYAR in Issaquah. Honestly, one of the best new additions to both the Iranian and halal food scene in the Pacific Northwest. The moment i entered, i felt this place was designed to create an experience, not just serve a meal. You walk into fish pond and garden-inspired entrance that immediately transports you elsewhere. Persian culture is embedded into every corner -- arches, colorful stained glass, mosaics, chandeliers, intricate wall designs... the touch of Iran is everywhere. I genuinely haven't seen another restaurant here that has gone this deep into cultural design and ambiance. Even the staff uniforms stood out, traditional embroidered coats that perfectly matched the atmosphere. And as soon as I seated, 20 month old got his own dining utensils and a lovely toy. beautifully thought! The restaurant itself is massive, with spacious seating, family booths, open gathering areas, and large private room designed for family events and parties. There's also a separate café section on the side, giving the entire place multiple different vibes under one roof. And then came the food. The Tahdig was easily one of the best I've had in a long time -- a unique variation, perfectly crisp on the outside while staying soft underneath. 5/5 On top of it, I ordered Ghormeh Sabzi -- essentially the national dish of Iran. Another 5/5 for me. The herbs and dried lemon were beautifully balanced, the texture was creamy and rich, and the beef had absorbed all those deep herbal aromas. The Mazze Sampler was also excellent. The Kashk-e Bademjan was buttery, slightly smoky, with gentle sweetness throughout -- incredibly comforting. Mast-o-Khiar was thick, rich, and refreshing. The hummus leaned more garlicky, which I personally enjoyed. The falafel was decent too, though definitely more Persian in style, I still personally prefer the Palestinian-style versions. And I completely forgot about the drinks. The traditional buttermilk drink, DOOGH, was incredibly refreshing and paired beautifully with the heavier kababs and rice dishes. I also tried the DIYAR Mojito. It was good, though a little lighter in flavor than I expected. Decent enough, but I'd probably explore some of their other drinks next time instead, not necessarily a must-order. Another surprise for me was the Shirin Polo. A beautiful saffron-infused Persian rice loaded with sweetness, nuts, and fruity flavors. It immediately reminded me of Zarda, the celebratory sweet rice dish famous in Bangladesh and Pakistan. It genuinely made me wonder, did Zarda originate from Persian cuisine? I would definitely order Shirin Polo again. And one thing I really appreciated was the generosity of the meal portions. The endless rice, fresh bread, stews, kababs, sides -- everything together felt less like a restaurant dinner and more like a feast or festival gathering. But obviously, the centerpiece of any Persian meal is the kabab. I tried four: * Beef Koobideh * Chicken Joojeh Kabob * Beef Shish Kabob * Barg (beef tenderloin kabob) The Chicken Joojeh and Beef Shish Kabob both scored full points from me -- super juicy, tender, aromatic, and perfectly cooked. The Koobideh was excellent too (4.5/5). The Barg used very high-quality meat, though I personally wished for just a little more buttery richness and flavor depth (4/5). I also tried Gheimeh Bademjan -- a tomato-based split pea stew with beef and fried eggplant. Hands down another standout dish. Deeply comforting, flavorful, and beautifully balanced. Soo goood .... DIYAR was founded by the family behind Kabob Korner and Bella Balducci, and with this restaurant, they've elevated themselves into something much bigger. They're bringing a truly immersive Persian dining experience to the Pacific Northwest. I genuinely loved this place. And of course, no Persian meal ends without tea and dessert. I tried the baklava and the Persian date-filled cookie. Both were good and enjoyable, though I wouldn't necessarily call them must-tries compared to the rest of the menu. I just checked their rating 4.9/5 -- well deserved Location: 4592 Klahanie Dr. SE, Issaquah, WA 98029

Amazing food and service! I will say it is a bit pricey and gives a more "fancy" restaurant feel but the quality of the food was pretty good. I got the Barg Soltani and the beef koobideh was better than the Soltani. So I'd probably just get the beef koobideh next time or try something else. Service was great and fast. Super busy! Great addition in Issaquah.

We've been here 4 times now and still love it just as much. They've already added a lunch menu, have daily specials on offer, and the Chef has even asked for our input on our experience to get feedback. They're doing wonderfully delicious things here and the service, quality, and flavor has made them a quick dinner solution so close to home. It's such a beautiful space, I love the colorful booths every time we are seated.

We came here for our anniversary dinner and it was so good! We enjoyed the dishes of kebab and mixed yoghurt sampler. Great atmosphere with Persian traditional decorations. We were greeted by the staff and the owner offered a complementary Dubai chocolate cake and amazing saffron pistachio ice cream. Keep up the great work and we will be there again!!

Great food, attentive and friendly staff, lovely ambiance inside the restaurant. We will gladly drive back for the scrumptious food. We're from walking distance of their Kirkland sister restaurant. We're delighted to see they now have another option for inside seating.

Excellent Persian food. We had a large group and everybody loved their food. I tried the salad shirazi, Misra ghasemi, kabob (barg, joojeh, and koobideh), fries, and a sekanjebin drink. Everything was great. The joojeh was moist, the barg tender, the koobideh juicy. The rice perfectly fluffy and buttery. The service was impeccable. The decor chic. My son loved the fountain with the goldfish in it. Prices were more than reasonable. I will definitely be back.

Very enjoyable food. It feels that it was cooked with love. Every dish is very tasty, with the perfect amount of spices, fresh and cooked to perfection. Not overly sweet or not overly fatty. Just one advise - portions are quite big. So be careful when ordering - I could barely breath when finished :)

    No raw onion and basil

I am recommending this restaurant because of the Customer service alone. The food is a plus!!! Now the food is pretty good but not quite consistent. I have visited two times in person and I did delivery recently. I have some feedback as I really love Persian food and I really want them to win. Firstly, they have the best kebab in the game in my opinion every time we have ordered it, it has been juicy and flavorful. The rice can be a bit chewy/gamey? after some point. Also, I am never given butter along with my rice, even though I see others are given butter. A small improvement that may be an oversight. I am also big on food temperature and I feel the food could come out piping hot. It has been hot but not piping hot like I like my food. I do not believe that they should serve a pepperocini with their kebab plates. I also think that they should offer onion and basil for the table to share rather than a few slices as a garnish. As of recent, I ordered delivery and ordered fresh basil and onion as an upcharge. The basil was dry and did not seem fresh. And unfortunately, I did not receive any onion at all. We also ordered a side of extra onions in person and it took a while to get to our table. It seems as if they are scrimping on onions. And that is a staple in Persian cuisine. I also believe that they should not include walnuts in their sauces and in their appetizers. Someone may be allergic for one, and for 2 it is off putting to bite into a walnut while eating your appetizer. There are also some other inconsistencies. The first time we ordered kebab we were given a garlic sauce, the second time we were not. The desserts were dry in flavorless. I do feel like they are working out the kinks and I want them to win which is why I'm leaving this review. I'm still keeping it a five out of five again because the Customer service Best in the state especially when it comes to Persian restaurants! We all know the restaurant that starts with a "C" and is a sea (hint), and their notorious horrible customer service along with their horrible food! But not here! They are the kindest and most professional!!! from the owners to the staff everyone is professional, sweet and kind and they all seem to love having you join them, even the servers seem to enjoy their job. Big plus for us and why we will continue to patronize them. I just think that you should also serve your house salad as a starter dish. It should not be offered as a separate entrée. Serve a bowl for everyone to share at the table. And if ordering to go, also offer a side salad and it should be included with the koobideh meals no matter what. I'm pretty upset that I didn't receive raw onion because I did pay for it. Other than that, I feel they will do better and they will do well. One last thing is, they should tend to the restrooms throughout the day and night to make sure that it's clean and well stocked. We went on a busy night and the women's feminine receptacle was filled. The floors also are a bit slippery so be careful. On busier nights, they might want to offer a number system or a paging system to make sure they say keep the crowd under control and that whoever is in line is accounted for. offering a night for entertainment for example a belly dancer, would also be a nice touch. I have spoken to the owner directly and I wanted to offer this feedback to him, but I never got a chance. We still wanted to make sure that we gave him the best review ever because he deserved it. They are going to rule Persian food in the western Washington area! I hope they take my suggestions into consideration. And give me extra onions next time for the missing onions, in my to go order lol! Diyar for the win! Thank you for the amazing food, the amazing hospitality, reminds me of family.

Wow! This restaurant is beautiful! From the hospitality, to the decor and the food that taste delicious! It is very new but they have transformed the restaurant from Chans place that was there for decades. I am so excited that we officially have a Persian restaurant in Issaquah and I plan to be back again and again!

We wanted to try a new Persian restaurant on the Eastside, and we are so glad we did! The restaurant is absolutely beautiful, with thoughtful decor that reflects Persian culture with style and care. The service was excellent from start to finish. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, thank you, Iman! The owner also stopped by our table a few times to check on us and make sure everything was good, which was a very nice touch. Most importantly, the food was delicious. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. My only small disappointment was that they do not offer tadigh, which is one of my favorite Persian dishes. At first I was told yes, but what was brought out was tahchin, which was good, just not the same. I would love to see tadigh added to the menu in the future. Overall, we had a lovely experience and will definitely be back. Merci!

The people working are calm and professional. On to the food-- we had the ground chicken skewers (our fav and will order again), the lamb shank (lacking in excitement but nice cut of meat nicely cooked), hummus (pretty good), shabzi salad, and yogurt/spinach dish (zingy and good). We are never fans of the thin dry lavash at these restaurants but that is not a negative since it is traditional. It does make eating the hummus and other appetizers less appealing and we long for something less paper-like. Our water glasses were always filled, plates cleared at perfect times, and dishes came out at decent times. Negatives: sour cherry rice was the worst we've had - giant sweet cherries with a splash of rose water was not good- overly sweet and unpleasant. Dessert- Zoolbia (fried dough with syrup) Our kids ate it because it was sweet but as soon as we walked out of the restaurant they both said it was actually not good and made their tummy hurt- it looked quite old.. maybe left over from weekend. They should just say they are out if it's old. Pros: very clean, professional, good ground chicken kabobs. Overall- we will be back and know what to avoid. Looking forward to trying some other items.

Based on decor I wondered if it had been a pub or steakhouse once in its life: lots of paneled and coffered wood, chandeliers, and wooden booths with coat hangers. We started with the baba ghanouj and ordered the fesenjan and a beef kobideh for meals. The meals came with a salad to share rather than small individual salads on the plate which was a nice touch. The staff was able to provide some veggies with the baba ghanouj since my partner in crime can't have bread. The baba ghanouj was great - exactly the smoky eggplant flavor I was craving when I saw the sign for Persian cuisine. The kobideh was nice and tender - you could taste the onion. The fesenjan was also extremely good. One question: Who eats this much rice in one dish? The rice was very good - but it is a lot of rice. I haven't had Persian like this since we had Persian neighbors who invited us over.

The center area hosted a huge group with multiple tables pushed together. I have avoided Zeitoon all these years because they are higher cost, not necessarily justifiable since there are lower cost Persian foods or similar Mediterranean restaurants in the area. I finally decided to try them. Our server answered my questions, including his favorites. Two questionable/sketchy things happened: 1. Our server recommended the Mirza Ghasemi, which he said is great with the optional soft-boiled egg. Sounds good. We ordered it. The optional egg is $2, which is not identified on the menu. (See photo) 2. When he recommended the Mirza Ghasemi, we asked him to remove the Mast O Khiar which we initially chose. I said we only want one appetizer. He nodded and said OK. When the Mirza Ghasemi arrived, so did the Mast O Khiar. They put both on the table and immediately left. I flagged the original server to remind him we said to remove it, but a different person showed up instead. He: "You want to cancel this? No problem." and took the yogurt away. I did not order this; it is not me canceling. Minus 0.5 stars from overall rating. The Food: Mirza Ghasemi + egg, $14 +$2 - 2.5 Stars This eggplant dish is the one recommended by our server. We do enjoy eggplant dips, especially warm versions. The optional "soft boiled egg" is not an American version but tiny threads of yellow egg bits mixed within the eggplant mixture. Honestly, we cannot taste the egg. It is borderline a scam. This dish would be 3.5 stars if it was $14 at the menu price, which is already on the high side. A $16 eggplant dish is delusional. Lamb Shishlik Kebab, $36 - 3.5 Stars Menu: Lamb rack marinated and chargrilled (see menu photo) I knew I would not see a rack of lamb on my plate. I got four lamb chops. Meat quality wise, this is excellent. It comes with a ton of basmati rice and a salad with a refreshing light dressing. This is a bit spendy for the quantity of meat, but taste is good. Soltani Shishlik, $42 - 3.5 Stars This is the exact same dish as above except add a skewer of grounded beef kebab. This kebab, and I quote my hubby, is "not that good". Same comment for the rest of the dish. A basket of lavash bread arrived at the table. I believe it came with the Mirza Ghasemi. We have eaten many lavash breads, commonly used as wrap so it is grilled and/or heat-pressed with oil on the surface. These lavash breads are simply warmed. I learned they taste terrible that way. The surface has a sandpaper texture and still taste like sandpaper when eating it. If I paid for this separately, I would be upset.

Be sure to ask questions if the dish names are unfamiliar. The Food: Soltani, $32.99 - 4 Stars Soltani includes one skewer of Koobideh (ground beef) and one skew of Barg (flank steak). Both are well-seasoned with excellent flavor. We ordered the flank steak medium rare, but it was medium with no pink inside. The steak was tolerable, not as tender as it could have be. This dish was served with rice per the menu. After I saw another table has their kabab served with a bread, I asked the server. She said other than rice, there is a choice of Persian bread (flat bread with sesame) and salad. Curious that wasn't in the menu nor did she say it. Not a dealbreaker. Her reply did raise my eyebrow. Zaboon, $16.99 - 3 Stars Menu: Veal tongue, simmered and fried, tomato, pickles, parsley Based on the description, the texture completely threw me off. The meat is mushy to the point of spreadable. The flavor is light with minimum seasoning. I applied hot sauce liberally to the sandwich. Portion size is large. I ate only half. Fries, $6.99 - 3 Stars Menu: Golden and crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside Some pieces aren't crispy enough. Some pieces are too thick such that the inside has the potato gritty texture. The sauce is a house-created flavor. We like the sauce more than we like the fries. The food is closer to 3.5 Stars. I like the family vibe and am rounding up to 4 Stars for the overall rating.

In long Meeting an old friend for lunch, I looked for the best place that was close to halfway between us. I knew he dug Persian, but, for all the Middle Eastern and Mediterranean I've tried, this was my first venture. Safe to say I was long overdue for this exploration. 100th is pretty dense with little strip malls and mixed-use retail/residential for miles through here. A couple blocks away, you're in very leafy suburbia, but this stretch of road is 4 lanes and endless business district. BBMC is tucked on the east side of the street in a corner suite, plenty of parking. The dining room isn't much bigger than the back of most moving trucks you've loaded in your life; there's seating for maybe 20, and about 4 more on the little sidewalk patio. There's a clean and spacious washroom in back, though getting a wheelchair in there might take some doing. You get laminated menus and a carafe of water within a minute of sitting. It's not the longest menu, but evidently pretty extensive by Persian standards. We both went for grilled kebabs with basmati rice and salad. I was on duty to bring home a full serving of leftovers, so I went with the King's Choice. Great big salad, and a huge tray of rice. This is clearly designed for at least 2 to share. As it happens, that was the plan, since we're having leftovers for dinner at home. The salad has tons of fresh veg and a nice herbaceous yogurt dressing. No sauce on the meat or rice, but there's a ton of flavor from perfectly-balanced dry seasoning. The beef, ground beef, and chicken kebabs were all bursting with moisture and flavor, cooked just to perfect doneness, and showing nice little hints of grill scoring. I paid a little over $70 for what will be 3 servings of food (at least), and I haven't even tried the eggplant appetizer yet. I grabbed that to go. This place is worth many repeat visits, and I'd be in here regularly if I lived closer.
