Everything bagel toasted with veggie cream cheese
    Ali B.

Solid bagel! Came here after a stroll around the fountain with my husband and son. My husband got bagel sandwiches and some treats and I got an everything bagel toasted with veggie cream cheese. Everything was ready fast even though it was a bit busy! The bagel was good but they definitely skimp on the seasonings, it didn't even look like an everything bagel. It tasted good though, just would've preferred more seasonings on top! The veggie cream cheese was the star of the show, super delicious. I shared by bagel with my almost 14 month old and he kept signing "more" and putting his hand out for another piece hahaha so it gets his stamp of approval! Definitely a good place to stop for a quick bagel if you're in the area!

The recipes for all the bagels were very original and outstanding. We stopped here twice during our trip to Scottsdale and both times were delightful. They have so many options in their the menu theres something for everyone. The service was excellent very friendly people.

Great food. Love the ceasar salad! It's very unique. The employees are always very nice. You can sit inside or outside but it is very busy sometimes and nowhere to sit.

Delicious coffee. The bagels are always so fresh. The staff is patient, there are a lot of choices..... today I got the breakfast bagel with bacon (you can get ham, Canadian bacon, fried bologna, omg the list is so long, basically whatever you'd want on a breakfast bagel they got it! We also got a Happy Wrap- turkey and avocado. It was ok (lots of avocado) I love avocado but it was a little too much The cannoli was soooo good. Oh and the Greek pasta salad. It came with a small side.... It was THE BEST! I actually went back in and got a 1lb container to take with me to work. Outside and indoor seating.

Maybe I'm nostalgic but growing up in FH there are few good places to eat, and DJ's fortunately is one of them! If you're looking for a great breakfast/lunch spot or a good locally owned and operated, try them out! The service is mostly good and always friendly! This spot gets quite busy in the weekends as it is the gem of FH in my opinion. They have speciality sandwiches, wraps, salads, etc and something for everyone! The prices are pretty fair too! Pretty solid bagels with MANY flavor options. The restaurant is on the smaller side with a couple tables inside but also has a patio for diners! This place is one of a kind and definitely worth a try!

Best bagels in the area! And we are from the north east so hard to please with bagels. Tons of home made options - even cream cheese flavors. Something for everyone. There is a line on the weekend but it moves very quickly don't let it scare you away

Bagels are terrible here. Not close yo NY style at all. They are stale after a few hours and don't toast well.

I say "mildly suprised" because once we walked up to the actual coffee house we heard the live music on the large back patio. One of our absolutely favorite local artist, Aaron Howard was performing, and he definitely brings in a crowd. It was busy, as I mentioned, but not too crowded, and we found a good table towards the back. As it was the begging of the hot weather this spring, we were very grateful for the generous-sized table umbrellas. But first, we went inside the Bodega to order a Beer and a snack. They have a great selection of Beer and wine! And since we were still 2 hours or so away from dinner, we decided to grab a veggie & cheese board, which had a nice variety of cruditè and humas. It was very satisfying for 2 adults. We spent.a total of about 2 hours there and left there knowing we would be coming back to Janey's. Side note: For those of you who need accessibility, I myself am on an electric scooter for ambulating. The parking lot is dirt and only has a couple of handicap parking spots. But no space is more than approximately 150 ft from the entrance to Janey's. Once you get to the building, it is very easy to get in and out of the main bodega, with wide, level doorways. The doors were propped open when we visited. I did not utilize the restroom on this visit.

The excellence service and hospitality is the reason I would take time to write this review. It's an "order at the counter and you find a table to sit" place. The food was honestly terrible--bland, poorly prepared, and tasted like it had been sitting around for far too long. None of our meals were enjoyable, and we ended up leaving most of the food untouched. What made the experience even worse was the manager whose name was Iris. Instead of listening to our concerns or trying to make things right, she was dismissive, rude, and unprofessional. Her attitude turned an already disappointing meal into a completely frustrating experience. A good manager knows how to handle customer complaints with respect, but that certainly wasn't the case here. Between the awful food and the poor customer service, I won't be returning, and I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience

The reason we came back on May 23 was because the food and service was so good on our first visit, as we were heading to the Grand Canyon, that we resolved to stop in on our return to Phoenix later that week. Our server on our first visit was Julie, and she was friendly, attentive, and very professional. My wife ordered the taco salad with ground beef. Julie explained that the ground beef used is also used for the chili, and that it was a little spicy. My wife is sensitive to spicy food, but she decided to give it a try. It was the highlight of her meal; just the right amount of heat and not overly spicy, and rest of the salad was fresh and tasty. The cranberry walnut salad I ordered was also fresh and tasty, although the chicken was a bit dry. Our son ordered the home made biscuits and gravy, which he said were delicious. The gravy was amongst the best he's had, and it contained bits of sausage. The serving sizes were all very generous, so there was no room for pie, unfortunately. Julie invited us to come back next week and leave room for pie, so we did just that. It was a really good meal, and a great way to start our vacation, worthy of five stars. Business was relatively slow on our first visit, but, when we visited the following Saturday, the restaurant was packed, since Memorial Day is the start of the summer travel season. We were seated within 15 minutes and were promptly greeted by Dakota. She told us the kitchen was out of numerous items and gave us a few minutes to look over the menus. One of the menus was quite dirty, with what seemed like maple syrup on the plastic-covered page. This time, I ordered the rib basket appetizer, my wife ordered a chopped salad with grilled chicken, and our son ordered the Rock Springs burger. On our first visit, the food took 10-15 minutes to arrive, on this visit, it took nearly 30 minutes. The ribs were meaty, but were room temperature, and seasoning was light and unremarkable. My wife's chopped salad was stacked high and served on a regular plate. There was so much salad that it was difficult for her to eat without the salad ending up on the table and, after 15 minutes, it looked like she'd hardly made a dent in it. She said the chicken was very dry, and ended up leaving more than half or her salad uneaten. Our son had no complaints about the burger, which appeared to be cooked perfectly. We each ended up getting a slice of the Dutch crust apple pie ala mode, which was served warm with a generous scoop of high quality vanilla ice cream. Rock Springs Cafe has quite a history, and the decor really shows its Western history. However, it looks like it hasn't been refreshed in nearly 20 years, and some of the posters, plaques and other things on the wall are in rough shape. The men's bathroom are unique, furnished with urinals made from beer kegs and more license plates than you can count. Rock Springs Cafe was a great stop for us, twice, and we plan to return on our next visit to the Grand Canyon.

The last 4 stops, it has gone consistently downhill. I can get better pie now at Safeway. This stop, got banana cream pie and pecan pie. The bananas in this pie were fully rotten! It looked like the bottom of the pie was covered in mold they were so black. The crust didn't taste right either. This is unacceptable quality and makes me wonder how long these "fresh" pies are sitting in the freezer now that they expanded the location. It was disgusting! Complete waste of money. I had been willing to buy a half pie on the pecan, but there were none and the staff didn't grasp the concept of cutting a pie in half to make two half pies (as they advertise they sell). I'm glad I didn't now, as the single piece I ended up buying was dry. So disappointed in how this place let word of mouth ruin quality. Not worth the stop anymore. You also can't have dismissive service and bad food.

(I did not. I ordered a full breakfast and a waffle like an adult with priorities.) I went around 9:15am on a Wednesday--only a few tables were occupied, and the staff was super friendly, gave great recommendations, and the food came out fast. Inside is dialed in with chandeliers, French-y posters and photos everywhere, and a pastry case with tarts, pastries, and cheesecake that basically dares you to behave. The croissant was the star... fresh, flaky, light, buttery... exactly what you want. The egg was cooked perfectly and the cheese was melted into it almost like a mini omelette (loved that). My only hiccup was the "bacon." It leaned more limp pork belly than crispy bacon and had a distinct smoke flavor that wasn't the traditional hardwood/hickory vibe I'm used to. Also... because the cheese and egg are fused together, it's basically impossible to pick the bacon out once it's in there. Next time I'd order it without bacon or ask for it on the side and make it crispy. It came with a side salad, which is not what I expected with breakfast, but it was actually great, fresh spring mix and a delicious dressing with a subtle sweet undertone. There were also hash browns with a crispy exterior and soft, warm interior, exactly the texture you hope for I just wish there were more of them! Because I have no self-control around French cafes, I also ordered the Belgian waffle with fruit and whipped cream. The waffle was warm and tasty, more tender/soft than crispy, and I ended up preferring it to the 'scrape the roof of your mouth' style that most restaurants serve up. The whipped cream tasted freshly whipped and the fruit selection was generous. My only critique: I'd skip the granulated sugar on top. The waffle is sweet enough already, and biting into sugar crystals isn't my favorite texture. For a drink I tried the blueberry lavender matcha. It had crushed blueberries in it, but the matcha flavor was pretty mild and the lavender got lost. I also would've liked a touch more sweetness from the syrup but overall it drank a bit "soft" and subtle. Bottom line... really cool little spot with friendly service, quick food, and a pastry case that will absolutely ruin any plan you had to "just eat light." I'll be back but next time I'm customizing that croissant sandwich and letting the pastries talk me into bad decisions.
