We ordered the latke, Rudy's reuben sandwich and a dish of scrambled eggs. Service is to order; never anything that has been sitting around. You may sit inside the cozy cafe or out on the patio. Staff are great, friendly and bus your dishes quickly. They even have biscuits and water for your dog on the outside area. The food arrived quickly. It is ample food. The latke was a bit burnt on the edge as you can see in the pix. It was still good with the innards being soft. It is a hefty latke especially good with applesauce. The Reuben was juicy and a meat fest of a sandwich. The eggs were light and fluffy. I was going to order a chocolate beignet and decided to try it next time. It sure looked good! Lunch was enjoyable. Ordered Toms Tuna!!! The sandwich was SO yummy. Crisp and refreshing!!! All of the employees were over the top accommodating in every possible way without hesitation!! I'm not sure I've experienced this level of customer service anywhere else!!! $40 for 2 sandwiches, 1 side each & a drink each! Huge menu!! I hear this place gets super packed but on a Wednesday @ 130pm there was no line and only about 50-60% capacity. We sat outside and ate our lunch-- hard to beat a nice 65 degree day in Arizona!!! It was great to find a classic deli option in Scottsdale. We tried the matzo ball soup which was hearty and thankfully not salty like at other places. The reuben was good and big enough to share. I ordered a side of German potato salad although the one I was given seemed more like standard potato salad. The chicken salad was suprisingly our favorite item. It was hearty and had raisins and almonds which I liked, and paired well with the apple slices and raspberry dressing. Sitting outside on their large patio on a nice day is the way to go. I think I got my daily allowance of veggies in one sitting, and I only ate half of the omelette. It was so big. They also have gluten-free toast, which makes me very happy. Wifey went with the Roast Turkey Thanksgiving sandwich. Sliced turkey stacked high with cranberry dressing on rye. Sandwich was a little dry, needed some mayo. Serving size was large and came with pickle and side of fruit. I went with the Corned Beef with Swiss Cheese on rye. Was a little disappointing. This was a great find on a lazy morning. This small deli has a varied menu and has a fabulous assortment of house-made bagels. You are immediately greeted by friendly staff who appear happy to be serving you. You order at the counter. (Don't be overwhelmed by the multiple chalkboards with tiny writing. They also have printed menus.) I don't know which was more difficult: deciding which breakfast items to order or picking a bagel flavor. I ended up going with the reasonably priced Nova Lox platter and a pumpernickel bagel. The dish came with a good amount of buttery lox, tomatoes, cucumbers, and loads of briny capers. There was also a pile of thinly sliced red onions. There were far too many for my taste, and I hate to waste food. All this goodness loaded on a cream cheese spread bagel, brought back fond memories of the East Coast. The latkes, a favorite of my wife, were more dough than potato. Also, very bland. The scramble had way too many onions. The green peppers were the only flavor in the scramble. Very disappointing!! I have been going here for years and love their food. The only thing I had I didn't love was their matzah ball soup but my husband makes an incredible version of that so I could be spoiled. Everything else is fantastic! Service is quick and friendly! Love they have a card that you can get your meals checked off and after so many you get a free meal. One other positive is I have seen a lot of the same employees over the years. To me that says a lot as there typically is higher turnover with restaurant employees.
