Was visiting a friend in Long Branch and she took us to My Kitchen Witch Cafe. A very cute little cafe with excellent personal service. Love when they give you a caraf of water to start. My wife a make your own omelette w peppers, onions and spinach. The eggs were so soft and fluffy I had the BLT with avacato. The Apple wood bacon was delicious. Forgot was my friend had, but she loved it Everything was great, even loved the home fries and I'm not usually a home fry guy. Luckily it was so called outside , so it wasn't too busy. This used to be my place almost every weekend. The last 4x it just was ok at best. Food hasn't been as good. Service is not as it was previously. But what will make me not come back is I had creamer on my table I was using. A different server asked if I was done and I said yes because I was at the moment. She then took my creamer kettle and brought it to another table for them to use and set it down. If a server had brought me someone else's cream that they had been using, I would have thought disgusting! This place was a hit for years but 4x of disappointment in a row... I'm sad. read more

What is not to love about this awesome cafe!? -Only a few minutes from the water. -Witchy in the best way (Wizard of Oz, witchy) -Picnic tables out in their backyard. I was lucky enough to go on a beautiful day and loved sitting out back. Perfect spot for breakfast, brunch, or lunch with lots of seating both inside and out. -The entire menu looked really good and after much I got the grilled chicken sandwich with brie & bacon. It was SO GOOD! I got mine on ciabatta and it came with sweet potato fries and a small salad. My plate was wiped clean. -My waitress was super sweet, as was everyone else I chatted with. They have the restaurant and then a more casual grab and go market right next door. One thing I was jonesing for was an iced latte but they did have lots of other options: hot coffee, smoothies, etc. Don't go expecting a full coffee menu but do go expecting good food and a really wonderful space, especially on a beautiful day! read more

The service was good. It took a while to get the meal. The food was very good, but not excellent. I was excited to taste the handmade sausage-again: good not great. There was a generous portion of steak in The Bewitchin' Bowl. The strawberry butter was delicious. The biscuit was a bit dry. When I read reviews about this establishment, they described it as "Wizard of Oz themed." The decor was more witch-themed than Wizard of Oz. I've been not only a Monmouth Beach resident but a long time patron at My Kitchen Witch. I recently learned that the original owner sold the operations of the restaurant and was solely responsible for catering as she was always incredibly amazing at it as well as always ran and served fantastic food. The staff used to be an amazing part of the whole experience. I have eaten there a couple of times this past 6 weeks and realized a lot has changed. The staff is different and the management has also changed and allows staff to use outside tables right next to tables where patrons are eating to sort silverware loudly and handle putting used plates from clean up into buckets that sit on the table until it's full and all the while it's so loud from silverware and their work we couldn't even hear ourselves talk. They were rushing to close out lunch and people were still dining. I was so insulted and to top it off the mayonnaise packets were of a brand I didn't know and they were so bad they came out like yellow jelly and it made me ill. The bacon even though I specified very well done when i ordered it came lightly cooked, upsetting all around especially on a Father's Day lunch with my family. All staff was very young which is always fine but had no skills or knowledge of what used to be common sense at kitchen witch. I miss the old days and wish the original witch takes back the operating management if she can. We love the breakfasts at My Kitchen Witch! We haven't yet tried lunch or dinners but heard they're great too! Whenever we're in town; either Sea Bright, Red Bank, Long Branch or anywhere else in Monmouth County, we look to stop at My Kitchen Witch for the freshest and most delicious meals! There is creativity with each dish as well as the witch decor that will take you down the yellow brick road too. This morning we listened to a broadcast by Casey Kasem! Service could use improvement, they don't have a system for seating people. Menu says the French toast is "extra thick", and when you get the order, it's literally two slices of bread the size of Wonder bread. Very disappointing and not worth it at all. Somewhere over the rainbow is the cutest cafe ever! If you're a Wizard of Oz fan like me, this place is for you. And if you're not, you'll still enjoy the food aspect! Atmosphere: small cafe with tables in close proximity to one another. Definitely a casual and cozy vibe. Wizard of Oz memorabilia everywhere! Fun to take in all the decorations and theming while you're at your seat. It embodies the perfect shore town breakfast spot. Food: I wasn't expecting much but I was very satisfied with the flavors of my breakfast and my expectations were exceeded! I had the Emerald City omelette which came with tomatoes, pesto, mozzarella, a generous side of breakfast potatoes, and a homemade biscuit with delicious strawberry butter. A simple breakfast which I loved! The hot chocolate surprised me in that it didn't taste like it came from a mix. It was rich and chocolatey as I like it. The waitstaff was excellent. This is specifically about My Kitchen Witch's catering service. Somehow, they've gotten a stronghold in the NY production catering market, and they are consistently the worst catering on any production, over at least the last two years. Lukewarm food that borders on violating food safety rules, no real good options for those with food sensitivities or allergies, and often running out of food before everybody has had a meal. Please, please work on the basics before you try to get too fancy...it's a work meal, not a wedding. To use specific examples from multiple catering jobs they've been on over the last two years: -If you have one entree with Gorgonzola, don't make the only other option something with bleu cheese. You NEED a relatively "plain" option for folks. -They've dramatically underestimated quantity for even things as simple as a taco dinner, running out of food before a significant portion of the crew--who don't have the option to leave for outside food--have had anything to eat -Why are there olives in meat sauce? -Gluten free labels on entrees with visible breading, and no answer about what that breading is if not breadcrumbs -Chicken Francese that doesn't taste like it has any lemon in it at all I could go on, but I won't...just suffice to say, if you need catering, please, for the sake of your staff/guests, look elsewhere. read more

I rarely feel compelled to leave a review, but in this case, I think it's necessary. We arrived around 1:30 PM, about an hour before closing, and were told to sit wherever we'd like. After seating ourselves, we waited quite a while without being given menus, and it felt like we were expected to know what we wanted right away. Once we finished our food, we sat for a long time watching other tables--who arrived after us--receive their checks and be helped before we were. When we finally did receive our check, I politely asked if it could be split, and was rudely told no. That's fine, but the attitude wasn't appreciated. This place seems more like a local spot, and it felt like they assumed we were already familiar with how things work there. The food was okay--I had the French toast, which was a bit too heavy for my liking. My friend really enjoyed her meal, though. While I understand things may have been slower since it was close to closing time, it felt like we were being ignored--and ironically, they could have gotten us out sooner if they had just taken care of us more efficiently from the start. My wife and children have eaten at My Kitchen Witch on several occasions and always remarked how great the food and service is. We had a 50 person graduation party for my daughter there this past Saturday evening. The restaurant usually closes at 3pm, lucky for us they will open for private parties in the evening. Choosing the menu with Maria was simple, and the price was very reasonable. The restaurant has a beautiful covered patio and cute picnic tables in their yard which have sunlight. The restaurant allows guests to bring their own, ice and cups are supplied. We brought, wine, beer, spirits, soda, water and desserts for our guests to enjoy. The Kitchen Witch provided The services of Gina who is the finest server I have EVER encountered at a party. Gina was outgoing and extremely helpful making sure everyone had a great time. We started off with delicious appetizers that Gina passed. Next we had a beautiful salad and assorted sandwiches. Once that was completed we went with their Balsamic chicken and Pasta which was orecchiette in fresh tomato sauce with fresh mozzarella....outstanding. Gina helped setup dessert, cut the cake etc. Finally Gina professionally wrapped up our leftovers. I cannot thank the Kitchen Witch and Gina enough for making my daughters day special. My Kitchen Witch has been on my radar for a while. As a super foodie and very frequent traveler I developed a sixth sense for finding outstanding places. This joint it up there in cool, quaint, and fantastic! We did Sunday morning breakfast and arrived at a busy 9:30a. Due to short staffing many tables were not in use but the hostess managed the crowd with charm and diplomacy. We wanted a table outside and the wait wasn't too lengthy and certainly well worth it. While waiting we scoped out the cute inside dining area and peeked into the storefront area. The staff are mostly young with a few terrific older servers who Sheppard the newbies. This is a fabulous mix and give you excellent attention at a perfect interval. Always a full cup of coffee and never the need to ask for anything, their staff have server ESP. The food does take a little tome to come out but it's made up fresh per order and comes hot and awesome. I like the whimsical names for the dishes, I had the chorizo egg dish, sorry I can't remember the cool name. That said my egg dish was unbelievable, just over the top delicious. Each dish comes with biscuits and strawberry butter, a nice touch yet we got a side of toast. Don't be afraid to ask for regular butter because it won't come automatically. I loved their home fries which are usually and very good. You have to get to this place it's one of those better than the rest places. My Kitchen Witch is a neighborhood cafe serving breakfast and lunch to all the Jersey Shore vacation goers and locals in the area. The ambiance is interesting and is covered in witch "decor," so you can tell they took their theme to heart. Apparently having a "kitchen witch" brings luck in a kitchen. Their menu has dishes that are mostly assembled together. There's a lot of things on toast, a lot of breakfast potatoes, and a lot of biscuits. I got the Gelinda avocado toast and was a little disappointed by it, but I really enjoyed the eggs Benedict I ordered most recently. I felt like it was missing a meat (artichoke spread instead of the traditional Canadian bacon) but it was still tasty. The breakfast potatoes are some of the best I've ever had. Don't leave without trying one of the biscuits with strawberry butter. They're not the traditional flakey biscuits, but what isn't delicious when it's smothered in berry butter. If you're vacationing or live in the area, it's a great spot to pop into for breakfast. PSA: I heard they do Friday night 4-course dinners. read more

Very kitchy and very cool at the same time. Excellent service and delicious food and beverage. Fun atmosphere. I had the Spellbound Sandwich as a salad and it was both large and tasted great. It was a long wait on a hot day (but well worth it) and during this wait one of my friends was feeling a little weak from low blood sugar. They gave us a large glass of OJ and refused to charge us for it. Something above and beyond like that cements a fifth star for a place that was probably going to get it anyway. read more

My experience here was pretty average, but my friend loves coming here so other people might experience better food and service than when I visited. The restaurant has a nice selection of sweet and savory breakfast items, as well as sandwiches and other dishes. The bruja scramble sounded really good to me since I wanted something with eggs and a little bit of a spicy kick. Food: The food was good, I liked the guacamole and salsa added to the scramble, and the chorizo was a nice addition but I wish there was more of it. I was expecting the dish to have some spice to it, but I didn't really notice much spice or heat coming from the scramble. The biscuit was cold and there wasn't anything special to it, and the biscuit came with a little container of strawberry butter. I also had high hopes for the strawberry butter, but I didn't taste much strawberry. The potatoes were okay, they were slightly dry but had some good flavor. I also ordered a chocolate milk and it seemed like they had taken regular milk and added a ton of chocolate syrup to it which made the milk was really sweet, a little too sweet for my liking. Overall, I'd say the meal was very average, it was good enough that I ate almost all the food (by the end I was stuffed so I couldn't finish the other half of the biscuit or some of my potatoes), but nothing really amazed me. I wouldn't mind coming here again, but I would probably want to try other cafes first. Service: The wait wasn't long, we waited around 20 min to seat six of us. It didn't take long for our orders to be taken, but the disappointing part is we waited about an hour for our food to come. We were so hungry by the time the food came, and we saw many other tables around us also waiting a long time for food. Setting: They had indoor and outdoor dining options, so we chose to sit outside since it was so beautiful out. I like the outdoor setting where the tables are sitting on grass and each table has big umbrellas to block the sun. They also had some nice flowers and trees surrounding us. PS. Before we go any further let me point out that this Yelp is about the catering that My Kitchen Witch has been putting together for a project that I was a part of. As you read this review, I am working on a film shoot at the awesome Parlay Studios in Jersey City, NJ and I have also Yelped about them so please dig into that one and lend them some support. So The Kitchen Witch (TKW from now on) has been serving up some tasty breakfast and lunch platters. While they offer a dinner setup as well, we are not working into a dinner break so lunch is it. The treats are prepared and served in individual containers and so far breakfast has included French Toast, Blueberry pancakes, scrambled eggs and hash browns and oatmeal dishes. Sometimes they are served with turkey or pork bacon or sausage. A great way to start the day especially since they are bringing the coffee. A much needed thing with a 7AM call time. Breakfast includes a small fruit cup with cantelope and pineapple. Good stuff for you for sure. Lunch has been a mixed bag as well with pulled pork, jerk steak, grilled chicken, Greek styled burgers. Each comes with assorted vegetables and we've found sweet potatoes, kale, rice and baked potatoes being a part of the dish. They also close us up with a cake or brownie of some kind. They are different each day. The staff delivering and setting up the servings have been friendly and get the job done quickly. We've had Bella for the most part and she is never less than friendly and professional. Kudos to you all at TKW. I will miss this food once the project ends. I get that staff work hard in the hot sun but when they give you back your receipt, (even after a very generous tip) they act like they're doing you a favor. Spellbindingly Good Food! Delicious! That's got to be clear from the outset. I've never had better pancakes. The omelet was a combo of Goat cheese, Granny Smith apple chunks, avocado, and sauteed onions. Almost too good to be true. The eggs and the pancakes were more than enough to thrill me, but the homemade biscuits with strawberry butter? Wow! Trust me, there's no better place to eat for ten miles in any direction. An entertaining and comfortable atmosphere with amazing food. Every dish features a creative flavor combination with a twist on classic comfort food. The "eggs benewitch," "voodoo omelette" and the "Esmerelda," were some of our favorites. Their fresh-squeezed juices (my personal favorite) are so refreshing and just what our immune systems needed while traveling. The coffee was wonderful and the lovely wait staff made us feel right at home while we were passing through this quaint coastal town. The Kitchen Witch is the cutest little spot nestled in Monmouth Beach. With a lovely little patio and friendly staff, our brunch here was just wonderful. Highly recommend getting a side of the bacon for the table. It is maple sugar in all of its glory. The Benedict is an interesting flavor--I wished for just a bit more from it. Usually crowded, but worth the wait. I'm giving 5 stars because this cafe is 100% unique with small-town, mom & pop vibes. You can't compare it to other cafes because it is truly one of a kind. This small, homey cafe is colorful and filled with fun witch inspired decorations. Even tiny little witches hang from the ceiling throughout. If you have an inner witch, you'll think the signs on the walls and names of the dishes are funny! The best dish name is "the wicked witch of the shore" because it includes pork roll :) I always walk out feeling in a better mood. Everything is super fresh and homemade. Healthy dishes include egg scrambles, omelettes, smoothies, and hearty salads. Their chicken salad is better than Turning Point, Brennan's, Sickles, Panera, etc. If you're in a not-so-healthy mood, the biscuits with sweet strawberry butter taste like heaven. As well as the maple flavored bacon, the sweet potato fries, and any of the sandwiches. This cafe is great for kids of all ages- even if you are older, but a kid at heart.
