I love this place. I have been 3 times and each time was a great experience. The first time being on valentines day which we all know can get crazy but went without a reservation and they got us in and seated within half and hour! We weren't rushed at all the food came really fast and was delicious! The second time was for a quick work lunch at the bar area. The service was great relaxed again food came quickly and I devoured the whole sandwich. The third time was with my family before we were seeing a movie and we explained we were on a time crunch and they more than succeed at getting us fed in a timely manor. They put the kids orders in first and so they came first which as a parent that is one of the most important things to do when going out to eat with small children. I was passing by the valley and wanted to have dinner. I was either thinking about red robins or this place called Peets. I wish I took my decision back. So I gave peets a try. The worse experience ever. Food sucked period. Low quality food 100% my husband ate the BBQ chicken pizza and for some reason idk why the pizza tasted like old Mustard. We asked the waiter and she said idk. At Least ask if we wanted something else. Long story short he through up once he got home. My Pasta was plain out NASTY. My family and I were in Manteca for the first time and were trying to figure out where to eat dinner. We found Pete's and when we walked out after the meal, all we could say was "wow". The service was outstanding. The waiters were very friendly and the food was incredible. The Tortellini Alfredo, Veggie pizza, and Veggie Burger were all delicious. Unlike most other veggie burgers, Pete's was moist and not dry at all. The french fries were some of the best we have ever tasted. Pete's Restaurant is a fantastic restaurant and deserves 5 stars. read more

We came out to this area for a soccer tournament and of course, kids were really hungry so we came to Pete's since they had a variety of food on their menu and the area it was in had great shopping and decent parking. We got there around 5:45 and service was great, no wait...got seated right away. Daughter's ordered a pizza and spaghetti, I ordered a Mediterranean wrap and my hubby ordered fish and chips. Again service was great until after we ordered our food. The food took a really long time to come out and in fact I could see part of our order sitting underneath the heat lamp for a long time. I guess they were waiting for the pizza to come out!? 3 of 4 of us got our food. My youngest 6yrs old had to wait for her spaghetti so she was not happy. Either bring out the kids food first or bring all 4 dishes out at once. I hate when that happens. My wrap was decent in taste and good portion but the fries were just bleh not seasoned and they lost their texture due to the heat lamp. My hubby however was upset with his dish... how do you ruin something so easy as fish and chips. Its just deep fried lol he said it tasted gross. When my daugther finally got her spaghetti, it barely had any sauce on it and it didn't have much flavor to it. I think they need to work on their kitchen area. This is our second visit to Pete's and I'm sorry to say guys we will not be back. The first time we stopped in they were not busy but there were several tables in the bar and dining room that had not been cleaned and needed busing. The food that time was mediocre. Today, I ordered a Pastrami sandwich with fries $13.99. Nothing special but the fries were great. A bit overpriced for what you get . My wife got a small Pete's combo pizza $16.99 which is way too much for 6 slices of pizza. We had to send it back because it was not cooked all the way. We attempted to eat here with four adults and 2 children during a break in the soccer tournament being held at Woodward Park which is about two miles away. We arrived at 11:00 AM and there was only one other table occupied. We ordered drinks first and all except the one beer ordered arrived in about 10 minutes. After waiting an additional 10 minutes for the beer, I noticed it was still sitting on the bar waiting to be brought to the table. I got up and asked the bartender if I could take my drink. She said no that she would bring it right over. It was another 10 minute wait, for a total of 30 minutes, before the beer was served not by the bartender but by our waitress. She set the beer on the table without making eye contact and quickly vanished without a word of apology. This waitress was totally unfriendly. After about 45 minutes, we noticed food sitting on the kitchen shelf waiting to be served. For 15 minutes, the waitress and host would walk by the food, look at it, look at the tickets, and move on without the food. After an hour with no food, we got a hold of a manager, told her to cancel our food, and we were leaving. She apologized, wrapped up the two kids orders, and did not charge us. Her apology included the fact that two servers had called in sick. We understand this can be happen but should have been told this when we were seated. The table seated prior to us also experienced the same problems. It appears that the staff included one host, one server, and two cooks. When we were leaving another waitress showed up as well as the manager. You cannot run a restaurant with a skeleton staff and not keep customers informed. Needless to say we will not return. The restaurant lost the six of us as customers. I would assume they also lost the first table to be seated as well as countless customers throughout the day. Pete's was a last minute find while staying at the Hampton Inn next-door. It was recommended by the front desk people at the hotel. It was late, so we sat at the bar where Tiffany was our bartender. Tiffany was helpful, delightful, and knew the menu. And a great conversationalist for me and my friend. Expectations were low, but it turned out to be the best dining experience of the week. I will be back. And somebody needs to take care of Tiffany and put her in a management role there. She is a gem. read more

But same as previous reviewers drinks took 45 minutes food took about an hour and 3 out of our 5 orders were wrong I had to order a beer a head to not be thirsty. Had a nice dinner here. Small place so I am sure the wait might get a bit long but we were sat down within 15 minutes at 6:30 on a Saturday. Waitress was nice, food came out quickly and was very good. We did order the deep fried artichoke appetizer that was a bit disappointing. Was crispy but lacked seasoning...needed salt/pepper to make it a bit better. The Steak sandwich was huge and cooked perfectly and great garlic fries. It's noisy so don't expect a quiet dinner date but I didn't expect any less from a "brew house". Do yourself a favor. When you walking to the front door of this place, stop and turn left. Tatos is way better then Pete's. You can't walk out of Pete's without spending 40$ and the food is nothing special. The wait staff is slow and inconsiderate. You will receive your food without silverware. I love Pete's and the service and food are always great. The restaurant is well organized and clean. The manager Tiffany is amazing and I have seen her handle some situations with respect and concern for all other patrons. I do not know why people dont watch their kids and let them draw on the doors with the crayons, pull off the window tint, run around the restaurant and they dont say a word to them. The best is when ppl come in drunk at bar time and want to be served. Ridiculous Tiffany and the restaurant have a responsibility and their license could be in jeopardy if they served someone that was already intoxicated. She could be saving your life and someone else's. All in all Pete's is great! read more

This is a casual join in Manteca, it's right next to the theater so it's great if you are watching a movie. The best things about this place are the beer selection, the pizza, and the "Knots". In the past, I've ordered some of the burgers and sandwiches and I always look back and think I should have gotten a pizza. So, if you want pizza and beer, then this joint is 5 Stars. If you want something else though, it's more like 3 stars. Hence 4 stars. I'll go back for sure though, so that's pretty good. read more

Wasn't feeling good or like making anything so wife took me out . Found this place was just open for the 5th day. Menu and and beer selection was a real eye opener would like to come back to try. Owners or managers came up and made sure all was well. Open kitchen so you can see what's going on. Just few suggestions if you have music and sports on tv @ same time, please put captions on one TV. (just makes the viewing more pleasurable) food was great. Soup awesome. Sandwich was huge. Just needed a but more sauce to meat *ratio is everything.. wife's burger was on hit.. fries were actually cut half length wise which made for a delicious difference than anywhere else. Pete's is a great place to grab a bite. They have a good variety of food, typical restaurant chain atmosphere, and good service. It's location in Manteca, next to the movie theater makes it a good option for a date night. You can catch a movie, grab some great tasting food, and take a stroll astound the shopping center, even though there isn't much to see. The manager always happens to be there when I go, and he is always walking the floor, checking in customers to see how well their food was prepared , and will even chit-chat with you for a while. My family and I went after seeing San Andreas, and were waited on by this bubbly waitress that had OCD and used a plethora of different colored pens. She explained it was part of her OCD and was actually a great server. That actually seemed to enjoy delivering great service and took prior in her job. I left her a 20$ tip which I don't normally do. Great place, I hope it doesn't change. As for what can make it avatar restaurant for me, the only reason I took away a star was thatmy son and I ordered the ribs one time and they were overly salted. I don't return for because of the cooks revenge legend we've all been warned about so I just dealt with it. So I guess it would be more consistency in the good preparation of the food. read more

We went there Sunday for dinner, I keep saying I will not go again but we did. They did not disappoint me. It was colder in there than outside(54*) degrees, told them about it and as usually all we got was oh really we will let the manager know. Told them 2 more times still nothing its winter outside people not 100 degrees. It took them 20min to take our order then 30 min to get it which was sandwiches. Then the order was wrong sent it back and came back wrong again! OMG Evidently those guys in the back cooking are too cold to think. I could not get out of there fast enough. We ordered the regular pizza knots: the only "eh" thing we ordered. They were overlooked and dry. Getting some extra butter helped. We ordered the Ale House chicken, a delicious ale-cheese sauce complementing sliced chicken with mushroom and onion on top of garlic mashed potatoes. We literally scraped the plate clean. First time I went here with my wife the service was horrible and the food was mediocre. It must have been a couple months after the opened. Decided to give them another chance. The service was much better and the food was good. We have been back several times since and the food and service have been very consistent. I took a star away because of their fries. Ordered sweet potato fries and they were over cooked. I asked the waitress about it and she said it was normal but they could do another batch and not cook them as much. The second batch was much better. The time after that I forwent the sweet potato fries and went with the regular fries. The portion of fries was so sparse it looked like they were hand placed. I asked the waitress if we were in the midst of the great fry shortage of 2017 and with a confused look on her face she said that was a normal portion. Hmm ok. I'm still a customer but will go somewhere else if I'm craving fries or order something else. read more
