Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. My husband bought me a foot/body massage today for my birthday. I left a friends bbq and drove 20 minutes of my way for the lady in the front to tell me "no, come back later" even though I had an online booked appointment! Don't waste your time or money here. They don't know how to run a business and it's probably a front anyway. I'd recommend going to Oceanic Spa near Cambrian. I took my mom-in-law to this place to get mani pedi for the first time in her life. So, you can imagine she is nervous. However, as soon as we got in the entire staff welcomed us and Sue started the pedicure right away. They have a nice massage chair and Sue told to just relax and enjoy. So, my mom-in-law comfortable right away and she enjoyed the total process. Sue was amazing, very detail oriented and highly professional. She took that 'extra' care to completing the task. She did pedicure for around 70 mins and manicure for an hour. Definitely recommend sue for mani and pedi. In addition, the place is very close by to my home and easily identifiable. The place is clean, cozy and tidy. I also had to take my toddler and they were very patient with him roaming around and pulling stuff out :). I heard from a good friend that this location offers therapeutic massages by well trained, and experienced CMT's (Certified Massage Therapists). I have a sore back from doing a lot of golfing, so I thought I would give it a try. I was a little concerned about the virus, and I'm always very cautious to wash my hands, wear my mask and maintain a good social distance. But, I found once I met the nice young women that work at DM Beauty Salon that it was worth the minor risk. The way they are very careful to follow the Santa Clara County guidelines was very reassuring... The inside of the business has a very open layout. All their nail stations are properly distanced from each other. They have a couple private rooms that are used for waxing, massage and other discreet services. The rooms are well built, insulated, with great ventilation! Everyone safely wears their masks inside. When you put your face, with mask, into the massage table hole you are breathing on a whole different level of the atmosphere. Ha ha, but it sure seems safer than being surrounded by people at the grocery store... It's actually very comfortable, and easy to breathe while relaxing on the soft massage table. The quiet exhaust fan keeps the air in the room very fresh too. I have gone a few times recently, and they are always really able to rub out my aches and pains! I definitely intend to repeat, and I'm considering making it a regular weekly event, during covid and beyond. Both CMT's that I've seen there are extremely talented! Both are very strong, and seem to have a natural ability to locate my sore trouble spots and work them out. I always leave feeling better than I walked in! Being inactive during lockdown has left a lot of nasty knots in my muscles, but with the proper release, I'm feeling much better. I had felt like I was walking around hunched over before I started having them work on my back. Now, after there therapeutic massages, I'm able to keep a straight back and my head up held high. I highly recommend the very kind women at DM Beauty Salon! They have even given me some great skin care pointers, too! Salon is nice and clean and the tech was cheerful, but I am not happy with the result. My "deluxe" pedicure was the fastest pedicure I've ever received. I also opted for a manicure and even though my nails were clearly one shape, the tech decided that she wanted to do another without asking me first and told me "it's better this way". She also asked me to pay before she did my manicure. I got my nails done on Friday, and by Saturday they were already chipping. I called to talk to a manager and apparently the manager is only there on "sometimes weekends." Tech also spent most of my manicure saying racist things about how cheap and rude a certain culture is. RUDE and judgmental pedicure technician. If you're looking for a nice pedicure experience, do not come here. Right off the bat, when I walked in there were only two ladies working there and neither of them acknowledged me at first. I had to walk closer to them before one of them (who was sitting in a shampoo chair on her phone) said "what do you want?" When I told her I wanted a pedicure she rolled her eyes and got up to seat me. I brushed it off. When she started on the pedicure, she immediately commented on how callused and dry my heels were. She's not wrong, I work outdoors, wear sandals often and do a lot of hiking. My feet may not look the prettiest but they're certainly clean. Well, she made a disgusted face and then called her coworker over to examine my heels with her. I thought that was strange, I've never had that happen before. She asked me if I wanted her to remove the calluses. I said yes and I didn't mind paying extra for it because I knew they were fairly thick. She started removing them, and let the dead callused skin fall onto the bare floor below. She let a large pile of dead foot skin form before calling over her coworker, again to make fun of how big the pile was. They took turns looking at my feet, and then looking up at me in disdain. As she took a pumice stone to my foot she held my foot out away from her as far away as possible, while turning her head in disgust. Then the other girl swept up the pile of dead skin with a broom and walked away. No disinfecting the floor, nothing. She didn't even dump the dust pan into the trash. As for the polish job, she did decent work. She filed my toenails nicely. She told me to sit in a separate seat with my feet under the dryer and then walked away. I had only been sitting drying my feet for about a minute before she came over and asked "so are you going to pay now?" I paid and left a very small tip. Here's a tip for her: if you can't handle pristine feet, get a different job. read more

I couldn't believe it, it doesn't make sense you cannot be a nail tec and not know how to do a refill. She said she could take off my nails and put new ones on but why would I want to do that. They were able to take a last minute walk in appointment for me and it was excellent service! The hair stylist Cody was very nice and did a fantastic job with my hair cut! This place is really nice with all new stuff. I followed my favorite stylist from a place within walking distance to this brand new joint, across town l from me. I will definitely be going back. Not only because Cody is there but because I want to try the nail lady (by appointment only) and I wanted to get my inner thigh hair laser removed. Yes, they have a laser here! Yelpers! This is the spot if you're looking to get your hair done. I randomly stumbled upon this place a couple weeks ago because all other salons were closed at 4pm. I thought well I'm just gonna get a trim what's the harm in trying someone new. It's not like I'm gonna get my hair dyed or whatever. I've always had bad experiences with hair salons but this place, I mean, wow! Best place ever! My daughter and I got our hair cuts there and just fell in love with the place and the people there. Cody is the one who cut our hair. He washed, cut and blow dried for an affordable price. He's got magic hands. I've almost fell asleep as he was washing my hair. I love head massages. Cody is a great guy. He is easy going, down to earth, and care so much about his customers. He kept telling me "this is your time. Just sit back and relax." Like seriously??? When was the last time someone has ever told me that? Not even my husband! Lol. Most stylist usually makes bad comments about how my hair is dry and brittle and I should do this and that to it which I appreciate the advice but hello?? I don't have the $$ to do everything! Cody never once said anything bad about my hair. I'm half Chinese and Caucasian so my hair is really thin and frizzy. Still worked with my hair as best as he can and he didn't stop until I not only liked my hair but love it. I thought that was very nice of him. He really takes his time with his clients. I left that place with a smile. I couldn't believe my experience. It's been like 10years since anyone has touched my hair so you can imagine how horrible it was. So yeah long story short, I came back the next day to get my hair dyed. My daughter wanted him to do hers as well. It came out so good. Oh yeah, during the service he and the owner offered us ramen noodle and or Pringles to eat if we were hungry. Who does that???? This place is like a second home. They have coffee and tea too. Very nice people. After my hair dye, I came back again for my first time Brazilian Blowout. OMG! My hair is silky, healthy, and frizz free! I'm dead serious, no more frizz. I'm going back today to get the Brazilian shampoo and conditioner to treat my hair. Buyers beware from buying on Amazon because there is a lot of counterfeits out there. I saw one comment saying that it's best to buy directly from the brand or your local hair salon. So yeah, that's what I'm going to do. Another thing about Cody is that he gave me his direct number incase I have questions or comments about my hair to let him know. When I told him I wanted lighter highlights he told me to come back in and he will add more with no extra charge. He said he wants his customers to be happy with the results and to feel good about themselves. My jaw dropped. I'm just in ah with this place. Before I end this review I also want to give Nancy the owner a review as well. She very kind and welcoming. Her Salon is super clean every with fresh picked flowers every where. She gave me some samples of facial masks to try out. She said it has good results and worth trying. So I did. I also bought a box too. It really does make my face glow. I got a pedicure done at this place. The lady doing my pedicure pierced my toe with cuticle remover and my toe bled. It hurts badly when I walk since the wound is right next to my toe nail. Moreover, she did an okay job with French tips. Never going back to this place. read more

I was here for over 2 hours for a gel mani and reg pedi. It should not take that long for this. What's worse is that my gel mani started peeling off within a week! They use cheap nail polish. The technician was nice but obviously they are new at this and use cheap nail polish to save money. The nail technician also said that she was the only one scheduled for the time we requested, but she would ask for another person to come in at that time if my friend and I wanted to get our nails done concurrently. I went to check out DM Salon for a mani/pedi from a Groupon offer and I would say 3-4 stars at the most (Yay! I'm a fan) but for me not as high as a 5-star professional salon experience (As Good as It Gets out there). I met/worked with Lily and Nancy and they did provide their best rendition of 5-star customer service yes, but truth be told, my experience was I felt uncomfortable there at various points during the long 2hrs,45mins visit, I have to be honest, and I'm conflicted about returning. Repair/Construction work going on in the back of the salon at the time was loud, a backdoor had to stay wide open during the work, so it was very cold inside. They were very apologetic and I was offered some warm water for comfort but in a waxy Dixie cup not made for safe or lasting liquid warmth. Certainly a kind gesture, no question, but I'm not going to say that is a five-star quality offering like an upscale spa or something which is I think what these reviews are intended for - to allow us to clarify our stars. There were several occurrences of conversational miscommunication due to the breakdown in understanding the English language that ended the chat as per the usual case in those situations. The salon itself appears to be Nancy's 'baby' and like a doting mother she has a way of pacing around, sitting/standing, micro-managing people to ensure that everything is in order, nails are being done properly, she adds over-the-shoulder comments to her staff, and sits alongside them to watch their work. I found the added mangerial presence at the nail desk to be pretty off-putting, although at the same time understanding her highest intentions for eagle-eyed customer sat. On the flip side of all the doting, I exited the salon with absolutely beautiful nails, but could I have achieved the same result elsewhere with fewer instances of personal discomfort..., um well yes in my SJ experience I would say so. If you like someone really demonstratively fussing over you like a snowflake though, you may find this to be the ultimate nail salon destination. And DM Salon seeeems to be just starting out based on these observations, so definitely throw them some business as they get going, and maybe they can iron out some of these kinks in the long haul. read more
