She completely ignored my wishes, went on a chopping spree and cut as much as 5 inches. FIVE... FIVE... FIVE!!! My hair is about as long as my shoulder blade but left me with top layers that resembles something to Moe from The Three Stooges. I was upset by the aftermath, that is my hair, and told her she cut too much. She dismissed it, said the water made it look bad (my hair was shampooed), and walked away. She was completely unapologetic and had an air of arrogance for leaving my hair a hot layered mess. The manager was nice enough to work things out with me. I paid for the eyebrow waxing job (the only thing she did right) but I didn't pay for the haircut (I would've fought it with the bank anyway). However, it doesn't change the fact that I left this place wanting to cry. I will never, for the life of me, recommend this place. In all fairness, there are other hairdressers in the salon but I don't know their work ethic. Maybe they're good, maybe they're not, but if you have to go to this place stay away from the lady who cut my hair. I never got her name but she's a Spanish (or Hispanic) lady who's about 5'7", reddish, wavy hair and about in her 40s or so.

I decided to go with the two strand twists and Jessie was my lady to do it! Started off with a wash and condition, blow dry and trim, and then the twisting began. My stylist was super professional, stayed true to the look I wanted, and finessed my twists. I would definitely recommend this hair salon. Following the twists, the Barber at the shop lined my up, gave me some helpful tips in regards to my beard, and finished the look with a clean razor line. This review is for a haircut and keratin treatment purchased through Groupon. First, while scheduling I was told to call back several times to talk to 'the Groupon girl'. On my fourth try I was finally able to get an appointment made (wanted a new look for upcoming job interviews). I was told the 'machine' was broken and asked if that was ok. What machine? 'The machine' The 'Salon': A picturesque scene of hair supplies next to microwaves next to crumpled paper towels and discarded straws, piles of magazines over dusty sheets covering something else up. A hair washing sink was overflowing with used product. Was this the broken machine? The service: I can't say the stylist didn't make great effort at cutting my hair, but this is the most aggressive haircut I've ever had where massive chunks of hair were chopped with dull scissors before shaping more carefully. There was no layering in comparing or cutting hair at an angle so that it falls nicely post-hair styling. The left side was considerably shorter than the right so we ended up cutting my hair about an inch shorter than I'd hoped so that it could be even. The keratin treatment was better, and honestly can't complain about that besides having already been annoyed by the weird haircut. BEST FOR LAST, the payment: id purchased this via Groupon, which is the only reason I'd stayed through the service...shame on me but didn't want to lose the voucher. When I went to wrap up and pay, I was told that this company no longer accepts Groupon 'because the machine is broken'. I can't imagine what that means because I know a bit about redeeming value from the business side. NEXT I was told that my payment needed to be cash, immediate, refused the Groupon again, and finally that the hairdresser would have to pay out of pocket to avoid losing her job. I'll take this time to explain the feel here, since that's what I did while I waited. This is a Dominican salon, and it's very authentic. You can tell that a lot of the customers are regulars and they take the time to know those costumers. Even though I was a new customer I felt completely comfortable. I also did some smart phone surfing, and you know how valuable WIFI can be when you have an expensive, limited data plan like I do. I asked and they shared the password with me. Mari was my stylist. I told her my hair was super dry after dying it and doing two keratin treatments basically in a row. I wanted to clean it up and get rid of the dead ends and clean up my bangs. She suggested a conditioning treatment, I agreed. THE RESULTS. I'm so happy I managed to stumble upon this gem. After my deep conditioning my hair is super soft and the blow out has made my hair incredibly bouncy. The prices on Lifebooker are pretty much the same as normal. This is not a disadvantage, In fact a lot of companies do it on Lifebooker. They use more like an advertising service. But, unlike the other salons I had been to they weren't creating these fees that get added on out of nowhere. In fact, I paid $55 for a wash, amazing deep condition treatment where I sat under steam, cut, and awesome blow-out. I'm seriously never getting my hair done by anyone else but Mari again. Except I'm sure other stylists here are just as exceptional.
