I've been getting my nails done (gel nails) pretty consistently for over 2 years now. I've tried several places in Orange County (Costa Mesa, Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley) and Los Angeles (Torrance, Gardena), but what separates Wifi Nails from the rest is Nicole's artistic talent and creativity. You looking for detailed, meticulous, and clean this yo girl! Thank goodness Nicole made it to the southbay cause I've gone to many other nail salons in the area and got my nails done many times but there is no one that does a job well done like Nicole. She works independently inside the Ziva salon on weekends. Just check her appt site to see where she'll be because she also works in Santa Monica too. I've seen her work on my friend's nails and she's on point when it comes to nail art. I got the metallic pearl coat which is $30 extra but looks soooo coooool. I love that she's very gentle when taking off your previous gel. Many others have caused me to bleed or just hurt a lot when they scrape the old off. Nicole's super careful and actually uses different equipment to buff it off. Also takes notice to evenly paint on your nails. I think that's my pet peeve, when I go to salons and leave with lumpy nails. There's ample parking and also a Korean grocery store right by if you need to stop for groceries. Nicole is hands down one of the best nail artists/manicurists you'll find around LA, whether you're looking for just a clean solid manicure or instagrammable nail art. First, her work is thorough and she always makes my nails look reeeal good. I have very high standards when it comes to my nails - if I see even a little bit of stray polish on my cuticles, I don't go back to that manicurist. Nicole's work is flawless - the polish is exactly where it needs to be and the colors are painted solid. No bumps, no ridges, no having to clean anything at home. Second, her artwork is consistently on point. I usually like to show her pictures of what I like to give her ideas and let her take the wheel from there. She has great taste so I always trust her. Just look through her pictures and you'll see her high quality work. Third, she only uses clean and/or new tools!!! Unfortunately I've heard one too many horror stories involving manicurists' failure to properly sanitize their tools and resulting infections. I like doing my own nails and I occasionally visit a salon to treat myself, so getting them done by a nail artist was a novel but definitely an amazing experience. I wanted something simple but special for graduation and she totally delivered! I asked for a gel removal, gel manicure, level 1 art, and builder gel. She used an e-file to remove my existing gel polish and was meticulous in caring for each nail to make sure they looked good but were also clean, which was great considering how surprisingly rare of an occurrence that is even at mid-range nail salons. Since the session is one-on-one, I thought it might be a little awkward but she's a great conversationalist and time flew by. One of the three things I appreciate is how committed she is in making sure you actually like the manicure and design. She double-checked with me a few times to make sure I was satisfied (and of course I was, lol), which is a checkpoint many nail technicians at salons often skip over. Secondly, my nails have never lasted so long after getting them done. After three weeks, there was no chipping and my free edges were all still covered--since I use my hands a lot, the builder gel was certainly worth the $10. Lastly, I appreciate how open she is in offering advice on nail care! I've been learning how to do my own nails so she gave me pointers and even recommended a few resources on where to buy my own supplies. Do I recommend? Yaass x2. Nicole is a master nail specialist! She works efficiently with two nail lamps yet takes her time to make the surface of each nail is flawless. Her techniques from the dry gel manicure to the nail art are precise and my current mani is going in to 6 weeks. I could have gone longer, but was excited to get more designs with the holiday season approaching near. I don't go easy on my nails and also have long curly hair, all of which my manicures survive without chipping or peeling (see picture). I highly recommend Nicole! I'm a newbie to the gel overlay world and have learned so much, I've really stepped up my nail game lol. I'm a hard customer to please, and am very particular with how I like my nails done. Nicole gets my vibe and she does them perfectly. Let me explain my two biggest pet peeves when it comes to nails. If my nails are filed to much on the sides, they appear to be growing slanted upwards. I call these rocket nails, bc from the side they look like they are taking off up to the sky haha. Anyone who has had this done knows exactly what I'm talking about. Nicole does not do this which I'm grateful for beyond measure. My second peeve is if I'm getting nail gel over my natural nails or getting nail extensions, I don't like the gel or acrylic too thick. I don't like bulky nails, I prefer them thin and dainty so they look natural. Nicole listened and was able to accommodate me on how I like them. I've learned recently that it's better to file away old hard gel instead of soaking them off, which is a lifesaver for my naturally thin brittle nails. I do the hard gel overlay which gives my natural nails the strength to last and not break. She also does fantastic nail art! This is a hard combo to come by, someone who does both is a treasure. I've been wanting to try some different Insta worthy nails- and I've found someone I can do both natural and artsy stuff with to accommodate my moods;) She also has a very convenient online appt booking system, def a plus!
