Convinced that it probably is (it's not), we decided to hike up the hill to take a closer look only to realize as we hiked up that it was a lot farther away. Also we were surprised at the very steep hills here. So we made the decision to walk back down toward the center of Old Town and drove the parked car up to what we now realized is the Historic Courthouse. Built in 1898, it is now also the site of the current Placer County Superior Court (2nd floor) and The Placer County Museum which is located on the 1st floor. Of note, there's a Placer County women's jail (exhibit) which is a makeshift cell underneath the north staircase that was put here in 1905 due to it being too expensive to house women prisoners in local hotels and too dangerous to house them with men in the main jail. One thing you have to do while in the area is check out this courthouse, which has a lot of…read morephotographic appeal, and there's even a museum you can view for free. The top part is where official things are done, so you will have to go through security to get into the building. This wasn't a big deal, though.

I walked into the Placer County Recorder Offices expecting a CA DMV-like experience. Instead, I received extremely helpful and customer-centric service from Dawn. She helped me understand the process, the fees, what to expect and even offered to make copies of the documents for me. (granted, there was a fee, but that's not her fault). Very impressed to find a department in our government that was so customer focused and friendly.

Yes, there will be a line and it's likely to go out the door and right up someone's postal chute. Who will then annoy everyone by bitching about it for the next 3.75 minutes until clearing the line and out on their way back to Panera or wherever else these people go. Maybe ULTA or MOD...who can say. But anyway, how many times have you EVER seen a post office where all the stations are open and functionally movin product!??! Most anytime I've seen that rare phenom. has been HERE. During busy busy times I've even seen the Post Mistress getting her Hustle on working the line like E40. Some spit bars....postal person spits stamps like a BOSS. So give 'em a break. Even that one chick who always has a face like she's sucking lemons. She's actually pretty cool and nice if you engage her or offer to share a poptart. Just relax and go postal fool. Think of it this way...do ya REALLY feel that going to one in Roseville or Sac will solve all your postal problems and give ya closure?? Guuurlll. No.

During this incident, personal and confidential items were taken from my vehicle. In another situation, I believe I was followed prior to an encounter outside a bar. When I exited, holding only water, I was physically confronted by a peace officer. Despite not being the aggressor, I was charged with assault. Based on my experience, these incidents raise serious concerns about potential misconduct, including unlawful entry, false reporting, and excessive use of force. I'm sharing this so others are aware and can stay informed about their rights when interacting with law enforcement. Accountability and transparency matter in every community.

So entirely unprofessional. Things were filed late as a result. Try River City Process. They do what they say they'll do on time and for about the same money and are helpful, not insistent or demanding. Don't bite on Prepared Legal's advertised $50 per-service rate. Can hardly wait to see how the staff-sargeant woman at Prepared Legal justifies how she mistreated me. This is a money-first outfit.
