Doug Coons from Do it all construction was very accomodating and was there in one day to start the job as promised. I was initially hesitant as his reviews on this site were very few and there was a bad one but he pointed me to the homeadvisers site where most reviews were located and I could see he was indeed a professional in business. He even lended me tools for a porch repair as I am from out of town and had no tools. He cam back to install a trim piece that was not part of the roof install so it would look good. He turned out to be one of the most positive contractor experiences I have had and I have had quite a few since I flip houses. read more

I can't remeber how we found Doug, but we're in the process of converting our home to single floor living and wanted to convert a linen closet to laundry room with machines vertically stacked. Doug came by very promptly and gave us a very fair quote, explained how he'd get it done, and I immedately trusted him. When the time came to do do the work he showed up on time with his crew, who were truly nice and very hardworking guys. they completed the job and were even able to put in some great shelves. They did a GREAT job and I can't recommend them highly enough. By the time it was over they felt like family. We also have to refinish kitchen and dining/living room floors. Before working with Doug we had lined up someone else, but after joining his "family" we got a qoute from Doug and he will be doing it, taking care of moving furniture, scheduling a pod to put it in, and then putting it all back together. I would never ever use this sham of a company. Set our bathroom on fire which in turn kept us out of our house for 4 months and never returned the deposit. Doug Coons is a former student of mine, who routinely told me how much he respected and loved me. The way he treated my second home, and thereby how he treated me, was in NO way respectful or loving. I cannot even begin to comment on the quality of his work because it was overshadowed by the absolute mess he left behind and has not come back to clean up; I only gave him a 1 star rating because this review requires at least that much. I withheld $1000 until he finished the job by re-installing light fixtures and other items taken down while he was working, but more importantly until he cleaned up the garbage, broken glass, leftover bottles of juice and alcohol, cigarette butts, ladders, and multiple bags of hamburger & hot dog buns left behind. That was almost a month ago and he has refused to return my calls and texts...walked away from $1000 and his own ladders...which only costs him more money. Most disturbing was that he allowed his dog to destroy personal items that cannot be replaced, to rip up the sheets on our bed and to cover a white couch in mud...which he has not apologized for nor cleaned up, just leaving behind for us to find and deal with. On this rural property, we have a pond full of Koi fish. He posted a video on his Facebook page of him siccing his dog on the fish, laughing with his "crew" as they urged the dog to catch (and kill) one. I even found a box for an Air Gun that he must have used to shoot at the fish or other small animals there. It seems they used our home as a place to party, and when my wife questioned him about this video, he unfriended her. From other reviews I’ve read, Doug uses intimidation and threatens violence if he doesn't get the respect he feels his work deserves. We went ahead and had the locks changed. Yes, I trusted Doug, and hired him, because I thought I knew him. Imagine what he'll do to your property if you're a stranger to him! If you want to feel used and violated, let alone be left with an unfinished and sketchy job after paying him, hire Doug Coons. Called Doug a week ago to schedule my stove installation. Despite being in contact for that week, he did not show up for his appointment or call to cancel. When called, he was incredibly rude, starting with "you should have reminded me" and ending with "I don't want to do it, call someone else." and then hung up. Had he said no when I originally scheduled the appointment he agreed to, I wouldn't have had to walk around a giant oven sitting in my kitchen for a week. Don't waste your time. 3/18/17 Doug and his team really destroyed our bathroom remodels with sub-standard work, and abandoned the job when they couldn't figure out how to fix their mess. They left us with $10,000 worth of tear-out and repair work to fix and complete the job, in addition to the money we paid them in good faith. Our bathrooms were left torn apart, and our garage was left full of trash from the demo, which they never hauled away. Bad news! Stay away unless you have lots of money to throw away. read more
