I was very excited to eat here after all the great things I saw online. We were vacationing in Two Harbors and Do North was about 400 feet from our rental. As soon as you walk in, you get the old school pizza parlor. The first thing that gets you is the aroma of pizza, and it is so good you just know the pizza will taste great as well. We were greeted as soon as we walked in by someone in the open kitchen, told us to grab a menu and come back up when we were ready to order and sit anywhere. The dining room is small with several booths and there was a large group there that they pushed tables together to accommodate. They have a lot of great looking specialty pizzas but we did a build your own and even though it was just 2 of us, we got a 16 in so we would have leftovers to take home. It only took about 20 minutes for our pizza and it was everything I expected. Perfect crust, the sauce was fresh tasting and flavorful, and the toppings are tasty and generous. I think I would vacation in Two Harbors again just to get this pizza! If you are in the area, this is a must! read more

My one granddaughter was adamant that I say how awesome the cheese bread and marinara was. And it was!!! The pizzas were great. Crispy tasty crust, generous toppings and perfectly baked. Maybe slightly sauce heavy, but it really hit the spot and was one of the only options that was open after 7PM on my drive up to Tofte/Lutsen. We've bought pizzas for take out here before and they were good. We thought it wood be nice to come to their buffet and try different pizzas. Baaaaad idea. The buffet consists of a few small pizzas that run out quickly and then you wait and wait some more for the next few pizzas. I recommend skipping the buffet and ordering your own pizza. read more

Nicest employees, but the pizza was underdone unfortunately. I feel like they rushed out or because I was waiting. The crust was very soggy unfortunately. Otherwise it was delicious. I also had a new employee ring me up and even though I questioned the price, he said it was right, but then I heard a guy correct him afterwards, but didn't come to me to offer to credit or anything. We were visiting Two Harbors and chose Do North Pizzeria for a night out with my 87-year-old parents and some other out of town family. We were warmly greeted and found the service to be pleasant and attentive. We ordered cheese bread and an assortment of pizzas. It was all delicious! Plenty of cheese, piping hot, and the crust had crispy edges that were a favorite among our group...not an edge piece remained. Swung in to grab a pizza to go. Ambiance is eclectic small town, cute photos of the staff adorn the walls, some built in wood booths and some worn out, slightly dirty carpet on the floor. You order at a counter when you walk in and they had a couple of tap beers to offer along with pop. The staff was welcoming and efficient while we took awhile to make our ordering decision. We drank a couple Castle Dangers while waiting on our order and enjoyed a pretty empty dining room the has 4-6 booths and a couple extra tables but pretty small. Heard it's quite popular to order your pizza to go and bring next door to the brewery. We gorged on the pizza and white bread when we got back to our rental. That white bread is GOOD!! Highly recommend. Perfect amount of garlic. Our BYO pizza featured sausage, green pepper (which was an error as we'd offered green olive but thankfully we still Enjoyed) and tomato. The crust is nice and thin and crunchy and I appreciate that they have a very thin layer of sauce. Cheese is perfection. Definitely would order again! read more

Pretty good pizza, a bit overpriced for the size of the pizzas. We arrived an hour before close and they were only doing carry out.

My son and I went to DO North Pizzeria over the summer while were on vacation in Duluth. We stopped in for a quite bite on the way back to the hotel and it did not disappoint. The staff (mostly younger, late teens/early twenties) were all super friendly and attentive. Our order was taken correctly and the pizza was delivery quicker than expected. The pizza was super hot (I couldn't wait to start and sure I may have burned my mouth, but it was delicious, with a good amount of meat and a LOT of cheese. The cheese bread (not pictured) was also delicious and we at the whole order of 5 pieces. The restaurant had a good atmosphere but was not overcrowded. Overall, the food quality was excellent, price was reasonable, staff was friendly - a near perfect experience! When I am back in the area, I would definitely come back to DO North again! read more

We were watching a college football game and didn't want to go sit down and eat somewhere, so we decided to order pizza. Two Harbors is a small town, so we weren't sure what type of options we'd have. This place was just a block away from where we were staying. We phoned in our order--family size mozzarella sticks and a large Big Bubba pizza. The mozzarella sticks were crispy on the outside and melty on the inside. The pizza was loaded with the meat toppings and generous with the cheese. They cut it into really small squares, which we've never seen before, but it was fine. The crust was fairly thin, which we appreciated. It was a delicious meal that we enjoyed while watching the game. read more

If you like crispy thin crust pizza this place is a great find. Stopped by with the family for a late (for Minnesota) dinner after a long day enjoying the north shore and I was treated to a great meal. Crust- perfect and crisp, it still crunches on the last pieces. Cheese- plenty without being an obscene amount. Sauce- good zest if a little mild, but it is Minnesota. Sausage- fresh that isn't precooked. Again, on the mild side but good. Overall- excellent. It was cooked perfectly, I worked at several pizza places for years and I like the cheese to be slightly browned without the crust burnt. It takes a bit of experience and knowledge to get it right, and they did. If you want a good Midwest pizza, it's worth a try. read more

This restaurant wouldn't serve us tonight. Hours posted online in multiple locations indicate open until 9pm. We arrived at 8:04pm to an open door and a displayed open sign. Only after we were seated were we told they were closed. We noted the posted hours indicated 9pm, and were told that 8pm is the winter closing time, and that they "couldn't" change the posted times to so reflect. As the staff was obviously all still present, it would have been kind to at least offer to sell us a pizza to go. If you're not serving, at least lock the door and display your closed sign. First of all, the staff and service were great!! Secondly though, what's with charging $2 for water coming out of the soda fountain into a plastic glass? Everyone I have told this to has responded with a reply I won't repeat. Here is a tip to management; stock your fridge with bottles of whatever brand of water you choose and sell to the customer. Maybe we won't feel like we are being ripped off so badly. Some people in this big wide world don't drink pop and can't drink a beer. I suggest some business 101 refresher class. Pizza was "ho hum" average, the house special was very watery with all the veggies (tasteless canned mushrooms), plenty of rubbery cheese (think chewing gum). Not going back. We took a regularly scheduled sightseeing train from Duluth to Two Harbors on a Sunday afternoon. During our tour of Two Harbors, we stopped in at Castle Danger Brewery to sample some local beers (which were great, the service there was great, I'd highly recommend Castle Danger Brewery). Castle Danger didn't have any food, however, and we were on a 6 hour tour from Duluth to Two Harbors and back, and needed more sustenance. The bartender gave us a Do North menu and said that they frequently deliver pizzas and that they are located basically across the street. The person who took our order quoted us at 40 min., which seemed like a long time considering we had a train to catch. The actual order took OVER AN HOUR. And then our pizza order was wrong! We certainly didn't have time at that point for them to re-make it. There was another couple in the brewery tap room who said their pizza took forever, too, and that the person who delivered their pizza forgot the credit card slip and had to come back a second time. The girl apologized for the delay and the incorrect order and said that they only had four people on staff that day, and they got slammed by the number of people on the train at the same time. We were on a regularly scheduled sightseeing tour, that runs every weekend from like March-November, you'd think they'd be more prepared and would staff for that considering it happens at the same time, every weekend. read more

My husband and I were in last night, after many, many hours on the road. We were both in the mood for pizza, something I want sure we'd be able to get so far away from the cities - I have a gluten allergy. We were shocked to find Do North, in a small town, offering it at all. I braced myself for a crappy pizza, and paid the insane price - $17 for the gf individual pizza - and waited. OMFG. For one, I don't know on what planet that was an individual pizza. Even as starving as I was, there was NO way I was finishing that. It would serve two, I ended up with a huge supper, plus breakfast. Secondly, I have no idea where they got their crust, but that was no UDI's crap most people serve. That was HANDS DOWN the best thin crust gluten-free pizza crust I've ever had... And I make really good pizza crust, myself. SO good. While I was grumbling at the price before it arrived, I have no problem with it now. The pizza was huge - more than 12", and tasted awesome. No complaints. (There were cheaper options, but I ordered the Bubba. I think some were $14 or so). Now, let's talk about my breakfast... One of the many problems with gluten-free pizza is that it's always gross as leftovers. Reheating gives it gross textures, but eating it cold is nasty. This has been a big source of annoyance for me, as I LOVED cold pizza for breakfast before my beloved gluten was taken from me. ... I just had cold GF pizza, and it was amazing. Had just biked up to Two Harbors from Duluth to check out the Castle Danger Taproom and were starving. They didn't really serve food in the taproom, but gave us menus for some local places. We ended up picking Do North and ordered the Kendall Combo, which had pepperoni, Canadian bacon, hamburger and breakfast style bacon. It was so good. They deliver straight to the taproom and we got our order in about 20-25 min. We got a large between three of us and just devoured the entire pizza in less than 10 minutes. It wasn't just the starvation talking, the pizza was actually good, and adding the beer made it even better! If you're looking to hang out and grab a drink and food with friends, I'd definitely recommend the Castle Danger Taproom plus a Do North pizza. read more

DO North is an absolutely classic small town pizza shop, and they happen to make a pretty good pie. It's the perfect spot to drop in or carry out. The staff was very nice to us, even though we all stood around bumbling for awhile before we decided what we wanted or were ready to place an order. The pizza itself comes cut into squares -- whatever style of pizza you call that. The sausage was really delicious and came in big rough chunks -- not the small little perfect sausage balls on a lot of frozen pizza. Crust was thin, crackery and crisp. Very good. We did kind of agree that the mushrooms were skipable since they were clearly canned and not fresh. We wouldn't order mushrooms again. Oh, and they had Castle Danger beer on tap, which was a tremendous bonus, especially when we ordered a pitcher and it was ridiculously cheap. A classic pizza joint in Northern MN. Nothing fancy about the place but we were treated nicely. I used the restroom and snooped into a different back room and saw a large stand mixer. I asked a employee if they make there own dough and they do! They also shred their own cheese and make their own sauce. The sauce really is top notch. So much flavor with out being spicy or overwhelming. The fact that they make things by hand is a HUGE PLUS. The crust in thin and nice (I am more of a thick crust fan) and the veggies on my veggie pizza were good. It would have been much better if they used non-canned mushrooms. They have gluten free crust and it is about a 12" pizza. They do not make this crust by hand, but it was a nice pizza. My GF got this pizza. I enjoyed my pizza and want to give DO North 4 stars, but 3 is what I am sticking with. If the atmosphere was a little better I would have been more happy. They had a TV blaring for awhile but they turned it down when we asked nicely. Overall it was a nice dinner in old downtown Two Harbors. read more

We are from out of town and are very picky on places to eat. We like clean places with friendly staff and good portions for what you pay. The atmosphere is easy going but it is hot inside with all the ovens going, they're pretty close to the seating area. I thought the bill was a little much considering we got two waters but they do charge for cups even if drinking water from the fountain. Pizza prices are not bad, typical. The wait staff was friendly too. The food was very good. We had bread sticks, a cheese pizza and a suppreme. They cut it into squares which is kinda nice. We ended up taking half of it back to the hotel for the next night. We will eat here again for sure! read more

Had pizza delivered to Castle Danger pub, based on Yelp reviews. Photos looked good but I'm pretty picky about my pizza so I had low expectations, as pizza photos can be deceiving. But we were pleasantly surprised! Really good pizza. Asked them to go easy on the cheese, based on the photos - it was the perfect amount. Skipped mushrooms based on one review that claimed they used canned mushrooms (I can't abide a slimy mushroom), but the ingredients we ordered were all good.
