I've eaten here a few times since getting into town and when I tell you this is the best pizza I've had in Wisconsin!!! Just absolutely delicious!! They have lots of options and appetizers. The staff is always friendly and attentive. Some days I'm the only one in there, some days it's packed, but it's always a fun vibe! We have been here three times. First time was great so we decided to go back a few times thinking maybe it was an off day the second time. The first time the food was excellent and the staff were friendly. The second and third time the food was bland and not impressive at all. The staff are very serious, not even smiling the last two visits. The women's bathroom must be having issues in the ceiling because it is all open to the wires and pipes and it was not clean. We tried to give it more tries because we know people have bad days. I'm not sure what changed here since our first visit but we will not be going back again. read more

Ordered a pizza on the recommendation of the front desk manager at a local hotel. The pizza was delivered hot, fresh and quick! I don't remember which specialty pizza we ordered, but the veggies weren't soggy, they were crisp. The meat toppings were plentiful. This ended up being a great "hotel" meal. read more

I stopped in here while visiting Ashland and was greeted by an older lady who seemed to be the only waitress, but had a rude attitude about her. Maybe she doesn't like gay people, or people from out of town because she seemed very friendly to other patrons in the place. She seemed to rush us when ordering and was super short when we asked a question. I ordered the chef salad and you get a choice of chicken, ham or turkey. I asked for chicken and it came out with ham. I didn't bother to mention it to her because she already acted like I was an inconvenience. The salad came with Ed's dressing and a side of garlic bread. The salad was excellent, along with the dressing. I would rate that a 4/5 star. It was the service that really brought the review down. read more

The waitress always seems over worked but always has a great attitude! The food is off the charts! Everything I have tried has been amazing. Father's Day-Sunday night in Ashland, Wi and not too much is open, but they were and they were busy. There were tables and booths open and they let us know right away that it would be a forty- five minute wait for food. Table and cocktail service was prompt and friendly. We weren't in a huge hurry to eat so enjoyed our cocktails. Noise level was easy for chatting. Food was great and timely. Portions are not supersized but neither are the prices. Sorry but a its the 3rd sh**ty pizza i got. Cheese was just barely melted, crust was doughy, not crispy at all, and hardly any pepperoni on it. That was the last chance! Never again. Ed needs to come back and fix this sh*t. I'm truly worried about the product being safe to eat. I mean the dam cheese wasnt even melted dam!!! I've always felt that The Pizza Pub had good pizza. A bit on the greasy side, but overall it tastes pretty good. I've been here many times throughout my life, and haven't really complained about the place. They have a pretty interesting menu.. from pizza, to enchiladas, from the salad bar to the full bar! The building it is in, is a bit old and probably could use a good cleaning once or twice, but it's not like it's run down or anything... And the food makes up for it. Also, this is the home of Ed's Own Salad Dressing! If you order a salad, you will get this, and really it is pretty good. It sorta reminds me of a French Salad dressing or a Catalina, but with more flavor! Stop in for dinner or lunch.. They have great lunch specials like the salad and pizza bar, where you can fill up on salad and pizza at a good price. They also deliver, if you live in Ashland as well as do take out! read more

Note - if you aren't one for greasy, tasty pizza, no need to continue. I went a Thursday night with coworkers. We ordered three 14' thin crusts - "the works" was BY FAR the best. Our waitress seemed to be a bit overworked, as she rarely interact with us and was flying around the tables. 3 pizzas was around $55, around 12 beers - $45 or so. Not bad for 7 people. Great restaurant I bring my family here sometimes it has a calm quiet atmosphere. They have a fireplace, a fish tank and all these old pictures of how Ashland used to look just has a feeling you don't get in most places anymore. We usually come for the salad bar but sometimes we order a pizza they have the best pizza in town. This is our special place when the family wants to go out for a night. read more

If you have any kind of culture; meaning you've lived in other areas of the country with different styles of pizza to choose from, then you know the Pizza Pub's pizza isn't so great. The pizza is too thin, greasy and they're small. All of the pizza in Ashland isn't very good, but there's is probably the worst. It's edible as most pizza is, but it's just not a good product. A lot of locals like it simply because it's all they've ever had and don't have anything good to compare it to. It's not their fault because it's all they know, but come folks it's just not good pizza in the grand scheme of things. read more

Just returned from Ashland after a weeks vacation in the area. We ordered pizza to go from the pizza pub. They have excellent pizza. The sausage is fantastic. And we also ordered side salads with their house dressing. The dressing is fantastic I wish they sold it by the bottle. And even without asking , they included napkins and silverware. Worst experience, both with the food and the service. We ordered delivery, and it arrived an hour later. No big, but it felt like forever for a starving family. When we opened our combo platter, it was cold and soggy, like it had been sitting for a (long) while. Our pizza was no better, and nowhere near warm. The only items we ordered that should have been cold (the sodas) weren't. I called the restaurant to let them know of the issue, and was repeatedly told "I don't know what to do" and "Well, do you want credit?" by the 'guy-in-charge'. After reminding him that I did not want the credit, that it wasn't about the money, I mentioned that not once did I receive any sort of apology. It was only after mentioning that did I get a quick "Oh! We *are* sorry!". This service was nowhere near the $35 we paid for the cold food. We recommend trying out one of the other pizza places in town, or even the McDonalds. Cheaper and less fuss. read more

Have ordered from Pizza Pub many times because it is convenient. The food is so so. However, last night 1-10-15, waited over two hours for a pizza! Called repeatedly to try to understand why it wasn't delivered, they just said "we're busy". We were initially told it would be delivered within 45 min. Ridiculous. My family and I vacation in Ashland every year and eat Pizza Pub takeout at least twice. It is nothing fancy, but always really good. We typically order a complex order (four kids so lots of changes) and they almost always get it right. Recently called to get a delivery ordered. I person who answered the phone sounded no more than 12 years old and must have been in the kitchen because the background noise was terrible!! We ordered chicken strips for the kids, a salad and a burger. The bill was $35+. That's outrageous! I've ate there before and the food is just ok. Really not worth the money and the restaurant needs a good cleaning and updating. It's just dark and depressing. I call these types of places "sticky" because after leaving you feel all sticky and that you may need to shower. Save your money and go to the Deepwater. For a few more dollars you will get a MUCH better meal and the place is really neat. read more
