Today I was recommended to Bee's Knees by a coworker and shortly after calling I was told there was time open in Heather's chair. She had just finished up with another client and was gracious enough to fit me in before heading home. Although I came in nervous, Heather quickly made me feel at home and helped me figure out what I wanted out of my visit to the salon. Just a trim to even out all the growth (it was past my shoulders but at different lengths and layers) but she made it into the most luxurious bob I'd ever seen. Heather helped me keep it long enough to braid up for work and even offered to trim up my bangs and undercut as well. What a wonderful and long overdue trip to the salon! Next time I definitely won't wait as long.

I came here after doing some research on extensions and figured if it was in La Jolla, I couldn't go wrong. I bought a groupon and contacted the salon to set up my appointment. I admit, the place can be hard but easy to find! By this I mean, mapquest took me through PB & some back roads with a several roundabouts only to finally see a sign for this place and once parked, found out it was the building. Good job on the sign with the arrows I parked on the street and walked in to meet Rachelle. I'm not sure if she's the only one who works here but this place was reeeeaaalllly small. Not what I had imagined. But nice nonetheless. I loved the interior and set up with crystals. The place relaxes you instantly. Rachelle was super nice & friendly. She gave me a glass of water and then got right to the point. We talked for a bit as Iaid there with my eyes closed not knowing exactly what was going on. I told her I wanted dramatic lashes, definitely "not" natural. And she offers different styles. I only wished that could have seen the styles as an example on other people or even seen the lashes themselves. I also would have liked being walked through it, rather than just laying there semi-worries with what exactly was happening, especially as my first time. But she was quick, and even after applying made sure I liked them and we're how they wanted before letting me go off to enjoy the rest of my day. The lashes were gorgeous. Not sure on the quality, as they don't look cheap but then again I'm not sure what I'm looking for. Thing is, I'm happy! I just wanna maintain them! :)

Since this was my first time getting my lashes done I had many questions but she was very informative over the phone about proper prepping and even had an automated email and text sent to me with tips and an appointment reminder. The shop had a very cute and cozy setup and Rachelle was very comforting and talkative during the entire process and I felt as if I was talking to an old friend. I had pictures of a style I wanted before hand and Rachelle was able to master exactly what I wanted. I would recommend her and definitely go to her again in the case of getting my lashes done. =) Thanks Rachelle! My lashes lasted for my wedding and even throughout my honeymoon which included lots of water activity!! =)

Truly disappointed. Doesn't even deserve that one star…read more I Had an appointment to get my nails done on 02/07 at 5:30pm, I got there and she did not start doing my nails until 5:50pm. First of all; you don't use SUPER GLUE to glue nail extensions!!! But I let her do her work because the nails were suppose to be for Valentine's Day and my birthday 2/16, and all I wanted was to treat myself. I then specifically told her the reasons as to why I don't get my nails done, cuticle, lifting, not how I wanted them etc and she said okay well let's give you what you want. It was fine until I noticed it was past 7pm! And she started asking what time it was; that's when the vibe changed and everything was starting to feel rushed. I told her 'no rush' more than 3x throughout my appointment, even then, during the clipping of the extension, she over clipped my L index finger and stated to me that she had to rebuild it with the gel, during that process I of course kept having to tell her it didn't match with my R index finger nail and she seemed to get upset each time I asked for her to add more gel. She then over drilled the nails that contained the glitter to the point where it was clear underneath and out of all 4!! Fingers she only fixed my R thumb, pictures will show, she left the other ones as is with a patch of no glitter on my glitter nails! The colors she had put already weren't even close to the colors I truly wanted nor did she layer paint them the same, 3 coats here, 4 there, and when I asked for a color exchange she stated she didn't have the colors? So I then asked for white! And she didn't have WHITE either?! So we ended up using a pearly white and she painted my R 3rd digit finger 4x with the pearly white and 3x on my L 3rd digit? So you can see the difference of white tones, she added rhinestone to my nails and I told her, can we make sure they're put on good because I feel like they're going to fall off, she said they would be fine!!!She didn't finish my nails until passed 8pm!!! When it was time for my cuticle oil usually everyone I've gone to demand for us to wash our hands so we can be clean she questioned me?! If I wanted to wash my hands. Of course I did and not even 5 seconds into washing my hands I look back she already had the area picked up and she was ready to go. She applied the cuticle oil and barely even massaged it in. She was to busy being distracted about leaving. I paid, tipped her for her service and left. I sat in my car in their parking lot for more than 20 MINS just observing my nails and this has to be by far the shittiest job I've ever gotten. I could've done a way better job than this. I've been messaging the nail tech through IG where I originally made my appointment. She takes hours to reply. She doesn't want to refund me back. Can't even offer to REMOVE the nails. Still haven't heard from her; I'm going to call on Monday to speak with whoever rents her space, and demand a refund. I don't care if it goes to their shop area, my nails are shit. All I wanted was to treat myself for my birthday and Valentine's Day since I'm recently divorced and she pretty much ruined it.
