I came as a walk-in and they were able to serve me immediately, which was nice. Even when the salon got busier there was a lot of staff available so no one had to wait. I got a gel mani pedi and had two technicians working on that at once. They worked well together to make sure it was okay for the other to move my legs or hands, so that it wouldn't disrupt the process. The hot stone massage was a nice touch as well! I like my nails really short and they did well with that -- everything came out great and was done quickly. Also, I'm not really a talker and I appreciated that they let me be in silence throughout my appoinment (but they had no problem chatting with some other customers wanted to have a conversation). The only downside or thing to be aware of is that its cash only. There is an ATM inside, just something that caught me a little off guard. read more

Not pleased at all with results of basic gel manicure provided by Lou (Lew?). Problems: uneven nail shaping, sharp nail edges, cuticles uneven, missed polish areas. Expensive mistake, I'll never go back to this place and I would not recommend. read more

The woman that did my pedicure was very nice but her methods for cutting my toenails were not precise. She tried hard but seemed to lack skills. In addition she took a dremel rotary tool to my toenails and some minor calluses. My toenails are worse as a result and very jagged. read more

I've been coming here for about a year, and they are always lovely! After going just a couple of times they remembered my high maintenance preferences (very ticklish!) regarding pedicures and always do a great job with my dip nail requests. They do a great job making everyone feel welcome and if they have the space they make sure they allow room for walk-ins while still managing all the prescheduled appointments. No, no, no. This place does not seem sanitary. The guy who worked on my toes literally dipped the brush into the big bottle of acetone multiple times instead of pouring the acetone into a little container. There is no way that's not some kind of health violation. He also completely wreaked of smoke! Like he was just on his smoke break right before working on my feet. Also, the place has boxes and looks like other junk just shoved into a visible corner of the store, weird. The manicurist who did my fingernails was really nice and did a good job. I asked if they take credit card and a different guy tried to tell me their cc machine wasn't working but the manicurist said I could pay with cc, weird. Overall, I would not come back here and for sanitary purposes, you probably shouldn't either. Just sayin' read more

I was visiting for the day and had time to spend while my kids were on the slopes so I decided to get a mani/pedi. The salon was inviting and clean and staff were very friendly. They were patient while I decided exactly what type of nail service I wanted. Milly did my manicure and Tracy did my pedi and I was very happy with the experience and outcome. It was very relaxing and Tracy graciously massaged my feet extra while my nails were finishing up which felt so good. Whoever did my nails clearly rushed or didn't know what they were doing... the paint is streaky and uneven. I'm not the best at my painting my own nails and looking at these I could have done this myself. Very disappointing, don't plan on ever coming back! read more

Terrible ! I had an appointment for a deluxe mani and pedi. My text confirmation that I received from this business shows it too. The guy starts my pedicure and seemed to be rushing. He starts putting on clear coat and I tell him "I thought you were doing deluxe?" I didn't get the scrub or hot wax treatment. He says no , I didn't know . I was like my text from you guys even shows that I am . He said sorry and rushed to his other client. I told him forget about the manicure then. As he puts on the disposable flip flops on me he ruins one nail and decides it wasn't bad and decides not to pain that one or even say sorry! Well I'm never coming back . read more

Adorable small business! If you're looking for a mani-pedi in Tahoe definitely think about coming here. We spoke to the owner who was so so sweet and told us all about her family. My manicure was also great! Turned out perfectly. I got a regular manicure (not gel) and it's still intact 2 days after the fact which is pretty impressive for me. Highly recommend! read more

Excellent woman owned nail salon! I was seeking an excellent nail salon in Truckee, I happily found Truckee Tahoe Nails (T&T Nails). Jennifer, the owner made me feel very welcome! This place is so terrible, please do not come. The guy who worked on both my pedicure and manicure was extremely careless. He removed my gel manicure and was so hasty it cut into my skin and bled. Then later he proceeded to pour acetone without pause over that wound. The paint job on both my pedicure and manicure looks like it was done by a 3 year old. read more

We are here visiting from SF and I needed a gel mani and regular pedicure refresh! I normally go every 2.5 weeks and visit the same nail salon in the Marina so I was a little worried to try a new spot here in Truckee. I called to make a 12:30 appointment on a Friday and when I arrived they had me wait for 30 minutes. Not a huge deal since I'm on vacation but I'll try to switch up the day / time for my next visit. I had the same person do my hands and feet so the visit took about two hours. The gel mani and regular pedicure are one of the best ones I've ever had done. Perfection! The guy that did my nails is named, Diamond. Be sure to ask for him! Only reason I gave this place four stars - the prices are crazy. $85 for the gel mani and regular pedicure- that's over $20 more than I pay in SF! I always tip 20% so this was an expensive visit but still worth it. read more

I have been to T&T Nails on many occasions and usually I am extremely happy with the results. However, my most recent experience has left me wondering if I will ever return. The other day, I experienced the most painful manicure I have ever had in my life. The woman who was prepping my nails clipped my cuticles to death, resulting in a cut on my finger. I actually had to pull my hand away from her in pain. The day after I got my manicure, my fingers still hurt. Especially the one with a gaping cut on it. I don't know my manucurist's name, but she was an older woman... Many times throughout my manicure she would make a mistake and then overcorrect by using a nail file or worse... the little nail clippers that ultimately left my forefinger throbbing. I actually fantasized about leaving in the middle of this torture, before my manicure was complete. I'll reiterate that this has been my only bad experience here, but it's one that will be hard for me to shake. It may be a long time, if ever, that I return. read more

I haven't been here since before pandemic (and a few years prior). I had a pretty tragic experience yesterday at a nail shop in Reno. So I decided to come here on my way back to the bayarea. I called and was able to get helped right away! I am so thankful, these nails are beautiful. I was worried there wasn't any fixing my nails, but T n T nails did their magic. I went to get a manicure and the 2 days later my cuticles looked like this.. I don't think it is normal. Before the pealing my cuticles were red and inflamed. When the lady was helping me the cuticle remover tool had someone else's skin still stuck on it that she just took off with her fingers. Never coming back to this place. read more

Talk about life savers! I come here pretty regularly when I'm up in Tahoe but this last time, when I ran in last minute and was greeted with smiles and game faces! I only had 20 minutes to take off my old gel to get them looking fresh for my event tonight. Easy to get in this place but unfortunately something was wrong with the gel. It did not cure properly. At first I thought it was just one nail so I went back and had it fixed for free but over the next couple days there were more nails that failed. Had to have them completely redone elsewhere since I had left Tahoe. Was told by another nail tech that black gel is sometimes hard to cure and that next time I should only have a single coat with black. Live and learn. read more

Bummed :( I have been looking for a good place in Tahoe to get my nails done and unfortunately I am still on the hunt! The ladies here are super nice but I felt like I just landed with an under-experienced tech. I knew after they were finished that the consistency of the filing was off and there were weird lumps throughout the nail but I was willing to look past that because all in all they were okay. Now I'm barely into week 2 and i have 3 broken or messed up nails. The gel peeled off of two of them, one broke completely and another chipped super easily when i picked up a box the other day. I've broken nails before but it's usually only if I'm forced into the 4 week mark with traveling. Super disappointed. I would've come back for a fix but the winter conditions kept me from being able to make the trip. It is what it is, I'm sure with the right tech you will be fine; but I'm not going to chance it again. read more

Unfortunately had a very mediocre experience. For a $50 deluxe pedicure, I'd expect more cuticle work and decent scrub on my feet. I had the same experience with my manicure. Just very dry and no moisture. I also didn't not see them sanitize any tools. read more

I love this salon so much I continue to come here every 2-3 weeks to have my nails done though I moved to Reno three years ago. The technicians are kind and attentive, and Jenny always finds a way to fit me in for an appointment. The new massage chairs are relaxing, the salon is very clean, and I always come out with a great-looking gel manicure and a pedicure that easily lasts 3 weeks. read more

If you're looking for a no fuss, efficient, and friendly nail salon, then look no further. Their price is very reasonable. I came in for a simple pedicure and had knee surgery three months ago, Diamond, my nail tech, made sure to gently massage my legs and feet longer than usual. Thanks Diamond! I'm on vacation and desperately needed a pedicure. Yelp ratings convinced me to call. The place was packed but everyone was very kind and welcoming. Can we talk about the massage chairs? You can "park" the massage wherever you want. There's a button that reads "lower body air bag". Press it. I almost asked if I could pay extra to stay another hour! I have a ridiculous toenail. It's always in grown. My technician removed the spear completely. She showed me the pointy arrow that's been killing me. No pain at all now. Pedicures (just a plain one) are $35. Free parking in the rear or on the street. Go! You'll not regret it. read more

However, two employees did go out of their way to greet the man next to me, with one apologizing for the wait and assuring him she would be with him soon. I was getting close to just walking out because at about 15 minutes after my scheduled appointment time, when someone finally came over and asked for my name. My stylist never introduced herself, so while she was nice enough, I don't even know her name (and she isn't listed on the website, either). I got a simple shampoo & blowout, and during the shampoo she used the hottest water I've had in a salon. She did not ask me if the temperature was okay, if I had a preference, or check in with me at all -- and I'm the kind of person who likes a super hot shower, so I was surprised by how hot the water was even to me (it was fine for me, but I know that is way beyond lots of people's heat tolerance level). I am sure she would have changed the temperature if asked, but never in my life has a stylist just not checked in on that during a wash. The blowout itself really did come out nice, but I was also surprised by how old the salon is. I think me and my stylist were the only people under like 60 years old in there, so it may be more geared towards an elderly demographic. I am glad I got the stylist I did, because I have never felt so disrespected in a hair salon before (by the other staff) and am honestly still in shock with how little regard the employees had for a customer. Some of them were sitting down and waiting for timers, so it's not like no one was available to greet me, either. Not to mention, I had to wait more than 15 minutes after my appointment time to be acknowledged -- it's not asking a lot to simply be informed if they are running behind. Especially since the man next to me was given that courtesy and respect! I would never go back and would not recommend it, despite the fact that my hair did come out nice at the end of the day. It was just such a bad experience overall, though my stylist really did seem sweet (she is the sole reason I gave 2 stars and not 1), unlike the rest of the staff. The salon itself is also tiny, crowded, hot (they seemingly have no A/C and just kept the door open), and not well ventilated. Save your time and money -- there are lots of other great options in town.

We recently visited and had just a couple hiccups but still 5 stars and it was mostly my husband's experience. He wasn't given anything to drink (water, tea, anything) after his massage which is usually offered. It was kinda strange especially since I was handed a glass of water after being asked if I wanted plain or lemon at the end of my massage. While I had a robe, shower shoes, etc provided in my bag, he only had the robe. He didn't think to bring flip flops because he thought those were provided and he ended up having to walk around the locker room and hot tub room barefoot. Not a deal breaker, obviously, but he was kinda bummed. Just a note about the ladies locker room layout and the lockers. The door opens right into the locker space where one would typically change clothes. So, when the door opens, anyone outside the door could see in. The layout of the hallway keeps the opposite gender from being near the ladies entrance and vice versa and also creates a low foot traffic pattern which seems intentional. However most locker areas I have used have a turn or a wall that blocks the changing area from view of the entrance. There is a bathroom and two showers to change in, however if the facilities are ever really busy this could get a bit crowded. Also, the lockers may have a way to be locked but I wasn't told how to do that. Overall these hiccups didn't take away from the 5 star experience. I'll definitely continue to recommend.

T & T Nails is a wonderful nail salon in Truckee!! This place is nearly the same as my favorite nail salon in my old city. They always a great job and this place supply a lot of different colors with various tons to select from. I came for my manicure. I needed to remove the acrylic nails and replace something new on. After the thinking time, I finally chose the pastel gel color and combine with the black French tip and rhinestone just on ring fingers in order to make my nails colorful and more beautiful. They used color fluently and made everything totally careful. The cost was inexpensive, I thought so. And their job was really good. I think the staff here is very well trained and experienced. Definitely best and most favorite salon in this area for tourist like us. A friend and I stopped at this salon to try it out. We were very satisfied with the works done by this salon. The lady manager or maybe owner Jenny was excellent. She was very good with every thing she does with her magic hands. My nails came out just perfect, exactly what I asked her to do. She also has a pleasant personality and we had a nice conversation while she works on me. My friend also was 100% satisfied and she love the results too. T&T Nails rocks! My friends, my daughters and I have been patrons for years! And my granddaughter and I have a fun date together every month at this awesome salon! Jen, the owner and manager, also does nails and she has a very special skill that my ski racer grandkids love. She can fix the sore toes/toenails that they can get from their boots ! I went into T&T Nails as a walk-in and they sat me down right away. My manicurist was Jenny I knew going that I wasn't priority because I didn't have an appointment but they still took me in. She filed a hand, she got up and didn't come back. 30 min later I got up and left. For 30 min I was left there unattended, I will never be back here. Mind you I went in with my sister who got a full set and was finished by the time I got up and I left. read more

I love this nail salon. There is one close to my work but this T & T Nails Salon is way better. My manicure was done by Monica. She's very nice, always take her time to work on my nails even when there are people waiting. Most of the time, I come week days because they're very busy during weekend. Try to get an appointment with Mindy - She's the owner and super nice! ALL of the ladies there are nice. They have changed the place since my last visit. It looks much more professional and like a "real spa" instead of a regular nail salon. My manicure lasted longer this time, almost 3 weeks! T & T nails has been my nail salon. I come and always ask for Kay to do my nails. She is very friendly, quick and skillful. The last fullset I got a another salon around this town was terrible. I was very pleased with my mani / pedi. They did a great job and although the prices were a little higher than my regular salon in Reno, the color selection and creative staff made it worth it!
