I wanted to have our hardscaping and fence redone in the front, side, and back yard of my home. I reached out to several landscaping companies. Several did not respond. Several came out for bids, but only about half followed up or responded to my emails. Doan's bid was in line with the other bids I received, with a slight competitive edge. Doan's Landscaping is a family business and Doan's wife Jessica handled the correspondences. She was very timely with her responses and was available via email, phone, and text. For what I was looking for Doan and Jessica were very easy to work with. I just wanted to replace my old and dilapidated fence with the same style that was existing and putting a small retaining wall and pavers throughout. I wasn't looking to use a landscape designer to do anything fancy, but I think if you had a vision that Doan and Jessica could achieve it. Doan's team were early every morning and they actually completed the job sooner than expected, which in my experience having completed two whole home remodeling projects never happens so I was very impressed with their team's work ethic. They worked incredibly hard even when it was pouring with rain. Either or both Doan and Jessica themselves were onsite most days working along side their team. There was a bit of miscommunication with part of the retaining wall, but they came back to fix it and now it looks as expected. Overall I'm very happy with the experience and quality of work. Doan and his crew did an amazing job on our steep and eroding back yard. Over 4 days, they installed two 4ft retaining walls complete with drainage and steps on each level. Doan and his crew were extremely hard working. In total, they moved 16 palettes of stone block and a full truck-load of topsoil from our front driveway to the back yard. Check out the three photos I posted for before and after shots. Doan and his wife were kind and professional and went above and beyond multiple times: - They came out to our house ahead of the stone delivery to mark off the section of driveway that the stone company couple put the palettes (to make sure our car wouldn't be stuck in the garage). - They ordered higher-quality topsoil unprompted and without extra charge -- just to make sure that plants would flourish in the new garden space (and boy have they!) - They filled a pothole in the road leading up to the house using extra gravel they didn't use on the project (again, without us asking them to) - They even refilled the tire on our wheel barrow My wife and I were thrilled with Doan's work and would happily hire him and his crew again. I went to their website to request a quote for my landscape project. They responded with an e-mail, but I had to follow up on scheduling. On the date we agreed upon, no one showed up. I e-mailed asking if anyone was coming to the appointment, and I never received a response. If this is any indication of the services they provide, I'm glad I found out before I hired them. read more

We had our grass stripped and reseeded two years ago, and that summer the lawn looked very good. In the next spring we noticed infiltration of garbage coarse fast growing grass. Called Doan repeatedly but could not get them to observe and remedy the situation. This year at least 50% of the lawn is this garbage coarse grass that grows twice as fast as the grass that we had before and requested. I guess I am now being forced to eradicate my entire lawn and start over. So disappointing and expensive to fix. I would give zero stars if that was an option and I would NEVER recommend them to do any grass seeding in any lawn. Period. read more

Doan did a great job of installing a 35 foot retaining wall, a large patio and path pavers, sod, and new drainage. He and his crew were always on time and were very hard working. Received a coupon in mailer and had them come out for an estimate. Agreed upon a written estimate and scheduled them to do the work. Called them twice to confirm and then at 4 pm the night before they called to say they couldn't do the work as the price of the trees they said they could so, was too high. We went to Home Depot and saw the trees for like $20 each, cheap. They even agreed that they underbid,but did not live up to their end of the agreement to do the work. Feel they are dishonest and as we are not landscapers, it is their job to know pricing etc. not sure how their underbidding is our fault. Would not recommend this company. Dishonest and do not live up to their agreement. We had 2 other bids and cancelled based on Doan's doing the work they said. Disappointing. read more

I found their ad in one of the mailers and gave them a call to landscape my backyard. No one picked up so I left a message. They called me back a few hours later and we scheduled a time for an estimate. The next day, they called to change because they double booked me and they were willing to come the next day for an estimate. Mr Doan showed up, I walked him through the work and explained what I was planning to do (pave two areas, create a nice path, add river rock and mulch. I had a $5,000 budget for this. Mr Doan said he would email me an estimate in a few days and never got back to me. After two weeks, I called their number, left a voicemail and no one responded. If they can't bother to get back to me, I'm wondering how they even get any business. Stay away, if they don't respond now, imagine how bad it would be if the job started and you had to get a hold of them. read more

We needed a landscaper to help get our yard ready to put on the market and we also needed a large area of fence replaced. We have almost 2 acres and my husband (who has done all of our yard work here for 25 years) kept saying he would do it. Since he didn't have time, I finally convinced him to hire the job out! He was pretty skeptical and worried about cost. After searching the internet and getting a few estimates we decided to go with Doan's Gardener and Landscaping. His price was more than reasonable and he said he could get it done in the time-frame we needed it. It was a BIG project and we couldn't be more pleased with the work they did! I needed to have a small retaining wall built to level a site for a garden shed. The price they quoted was OK but it was not cheap by any means. Judging from their license these folks have been in business for at least 8 years and I was expecting to see a quality work for this price. I ended up seriously disappointed. While building that wall they have cut as many corners as they could get away with. Building proper drainage - what drainage? Laying landscape fabric - no, they don't do it. Backfilling with compactable gravel where a different kind of gravel was needed - why bother? And then some minor things like dumping gravel from their truck on recently coated driveway without tarp underlayment and filling our yard waste bucket with leftover sod where it is not really allowed to go. Well, at least they did all the heavy lifting setting up the wall blocks. Now I just need to order another cu. yard of proper gravel, spend a day shoveling to make a decent drainage and this job will be complete. Giving 3 stars for hard work. Not recommended for anyone with even a basic understanding of how to build those retaining walls _right_. read more
