I love the food here but it is quite small and expensive. Great little snacks. I am assuming that because its made with very quality ingredients (a lot of plant based and whole food ingredients). only had their bubble tea but the lady at the front was really nice. the tea itself was good, although i don't think they listened to my request to make it half as sweet. the tapioca seemed maybe like it was old? either that or it was undercooked because it was hard and not chewy, kinda crumbled in the mouth, also they were very stuck together and drinking them was a huge hassle almost every other sip it got stuck and i'd have to get the straw out and try for minutes to blow the stuck bubble out. worst of it was that it was $7 and there was more ice than there was tea in it. avoidable if i asked for light ice, but i didn't think to since the size of the cups in their pics look good and they use a reasonable amount of ice. also the size was super small for the cost. yes they have a niche and they have quality teas (i think?) but not worth it for me, maybe they do better with hot teas. read more

This place is perfection for what it is and for creating a lovely, peaceful atmosphere. Dobra has an amazing tea selection and an absolutely beautiful space. The front area has tables and chairs and the back section has dim lighting and you sit on the floor. It feels so calm and peaceful. This is a great place for an intimate date, a catch-up with a close friend, or some thoughtful solo time. I gave it 4 stars because I feel like the way they do service is often very slow and unexpected. My friend waited literally a half an hour for her tea the last time I went. By the time she got her tea, everyone else had already drank theirs and ate most of the snacks. This isn't the first time something like that happened. read more

Amazing, chill, wonderful space with friendly and knowledgeable employees. I could spend all day drinking tea in the meditative back area with floor tables and cushions. I've discovered several varieties I never would have tasted otherwise, and it's easy to keep making infusions with the glass carafe and tea light. When you walk in on the right they have a selection of mugs that you can buy and then a counter which you order at. I got the starborov chilled which was delicious. I really did want to rate this establishment higher just for its existence, as tea shops are my go-to stop away from home. The problem is I can't give any bump without more experience to offset the highly disappointing cup of bubble tea I got here. I've been to many tea and coffee shops, Asian restaurants, and other locations that do bubble tea in a variety of ways. I'd like to think I just wasn't familiar enough with the extensive menu to order something that fit the bill, but until I know for sure by experiencing the place again it's stuck with this. Also worth noting: the straws at the time of my purchase were NOT the correct size for the tapioca being used. I ended up with most of it in the bottom of the cup and the straw was frequently clogged. The decor, atmosphere, and options make me want to go back here. I have been coming to Dobra Tea for yearsss. I absolutely adore this place and try to make a stop here anytime I am in the downtown area. It is a great place to relax and study or hangout with some friends. It also is a cute place for an alternative coffee date. It can get noisy and busy on Fridays and Saturdays When you walk in, you seat yourself. Then, a server will bring you a menu and a bell to ring when you are ready to order. Servers are incredibly knowledgeable of the menu. My absolute favorite drinks: Forest Dragon and Bee's Knees. Both are cold drinks, lightly sweetened and refreshing. Forest Dragon is matcha infused with rice milk, while Bee's Knees is a coconut water based drink. All the teacakes and cookies are delicious and gluten-free. They also have a few vegan treats. I highly recommend the fig and buckwheat teacake, raspberry brown butter teacake. My favorite vegan dessert is the matcha shortbread cookie. read more

This isn't your typical coffee shop, and people usually come here for the experience of an authentic tea house. They have an extensive menu where you can find pretty much any genre of tea from all over the World. Great spot in downtown Asheville (there is another Dobra Tea in West Avl as well - which is equally delectable) for a group meeting or just to catch up with friends while making your weekend plans. Very relaxing atmosphere. Totally the opposite of a "rushed" vibe, so come to chill. I love slipping my shoes off and taking a seat on a plush cushion with good friends while enjoying pleasant conversation or a private workshop in one of the more private areas of the tea rooms. read more

I've always heard about how great Dobra Tea is and have always wanted to check it out for myself. I definitely wasn't disappointed. If you are like me, and enjoy a laid back spot geared for conversation this place is great. Although the tea is incredible, Dobra offers much more than that. We sat towards the back in an area where you remove your shoes and sit on rugs and cushions. I loved this perk as it resembled Indian culture. Upon ordering you ring the bill for service. Although it was loud in there our server managed to find us and take our order. I ordered the Forest Dragon tea and a raspberry brown butter teacakes. This tea was powdered Japanese matcha and Chinese jasmine green teas flash infused, to which is added organic rice milk, fresh mint, a generous shake of cardamom and a stream of sweet, local honey. Staff was nice and made a drink that was on an old menu we saw. I am an Earl Grey and Chai Tea lover and the Indian authentic chai was ok. It didn't have a ton of spice as I expected authentic Indian chai to have. The Cape Fear Chai (the one that's no longer on the menu) was good if you like Earl Grey. It was super aromatic and had an Earl grey ka-pow aftertaste. I liked it a lot; just not for everyday tea. The Chai cookie was good but a little dry; tastes very similar to a gingerbread cookie. 7/10 experience! Price was fair. read more

I had my most nourishing and filling meal at Dobra Tea!! The place follows a tea room concept with all wooden flooring, benches and other fun, zen-vibe murals and decorations. Their tea selection seems extensive, as others have commented. We didn't try their tea, but the food we sampled was outstanding. Their immuni-broth was a Japanese miso based broth, with scent of ginger and apple cider vinegar. A drink of it immediate warmed my throat and stomach. Their Yum bowl had all the earthy root vegetables and avocados, accompanied by this golden yellow 'Yum sauce', which was incredibly creamy and smooth. The sauce lights up the texture and the flavor, and the bowl was demolished in no time. Even their desserts - we tried the macha pistachio truffle, were stars of the meal. The truffle was sweetened naturally by dates, and had a good crunch from the seeds and chias mixed in. Service was quick and efficient. I loved this place. Cannot wait to go back. read more

While visiting my cousins in Asheville, we decided we wanted some bubble tea. We found Dobra Tea, and decided to go there. The decorations are very cool and they have things written on the walls in different languages. I chose to get a build-your-own boba milk tea. In mine, I got oat milk with mango tea and tapioca pearls. The size of the drink is significantly smaller from other places I've been to. The tea was yummy, but not my favorite. I appreciate the build-your-own part, but other than that, there was nothing super special about my experience here, which is why I give a four. There was another tea place in town as well that I didn't try. If I'm back in Asheville and want some boba, I'd probably try the other place. read more

This is an awesome tea shop. We went every day while we were visiting Asheville. The tea selection is huge and covers all styles. My friend and I were visiting Asheville towards the end of our cabin stay in North Carolina. Hunting for some bubble tea, we found this place! It was the only place we found online that served "bubble tea" so we tried it. Dobra Tea is more specialized in herbal teas all over the world and we had a great waiter who was patient with us and explained mostly everything the menu had. He also mentioned the new teas that came in. I was craving some bubble tea so I ordered the Jasmine Green tea bubble milk tea. My friend ordered their chai milk tea. We drink bubble tea pretty often back in Atlanta and have a lot of boba shops around. The tapioca pearls tasted under done and had no taste as it looked like they had made the pearls only. Usually, the tapioca pearls are dunked in honey syrup or a sweetened syrup. It was also my bad for ordering the drink in 50% sugar level. I would recommend getting the full sugar as it just tasted like milk with a hint of herbal tea. They do give you an option for what kind of milk you want to use for it. My friend also wasn't a fan of the chai milk tea. Overall, we should have ordered something in their herbal tea menu instead of the milk teas as they are more specialized in that. I would not recommend their milk teas though. If we are back in town, maybe we'll try the herbal teas next time! It is a very cozy place where you have a little bell to notify service and the menu has tons of options to choose from. There is also a place where you can sit on pillows on the floor. This place was really cool. There's so many different teas from around the world to try. The menu is quite extensive. The desserts are also tasty too. There are three different seating sections. In the front, a traditional table seating area, then a booth area, and in the back an actual tea drinking area where you can sit on cushions around the floor and drink from a tea table in the middle. I love tea and I loved this place, but the thing that ruined it was the service. It was weak and a turn off. Kind of a let down cause I was excited about this place. We came in as a family and each ordered a different tea and we just sampled each other's tea. The Turkish tea is served in small glass tea cups that are very pleasing to the eye. They also have a tea that will keep you awake for hours called the Yerba tea. So watch out for that one. As I was heading towards Asheville to see my daughter I started craving Dobra Tea which she had taken me to in the past. The minute that I walked in I was pleasantly overcome with a plethora of sweet scents. As I had scanned the menu on line, remember I was dreaming about Dobra, I knew what I wanted. Still I had a few questions which the employee was knowledgeable about answering. In addition to my tea, which was steeped perfectly, we ordered avocado toast and a goat cheese plate which came with pita chips and olives (I hope I'm reporting correctly, this was a couple of days ago). The food was delicious. All of their offerings are gluten free. The west AVL location has a more extensive menu. The ambience is beautiful as are the employees.
