Service was great Uriel was amazing but yhr food left A lot to be desired. We got the lamb chop appetizer which was the standout. The cheese plate was good. The main entrees were not great. Husband $43 swordfish came out lukewarm warm and had to be sent back and was more steamed than seared. I got the chicken Milanese and you needed a chainsaw to cut it. But the flavors were decent. Pretty location. Great service but not the best food.

Banana cream pie

I have been hearing about this place forever, and finally had a chance to go see what all the talk was about. It's April so it wasn't that busy. My sister in law loved the halibut saying it was one of the best she ever had. The salmon was also perfectly prepared. The seafood risotto was packed with shrimp, scallops and crab. There was enough for two more meals . I really enjoyed the French onion soup..Tony was very patient with all our questions and gave good advice on his favorite foods. The banana cream pie was the best!

Happy hour Lobster Spring Rolls so tasty

My husband and I finally went to the third of the Dougherty restaurants Knife and Fork in Atlantic City for their fabulous happy hour and we were not disappointed! The happy hour is daily from 4-6 pm, we got on line right around 3:45 or so to make sure we scored bar seats, and we promptly ordered cocktails! We ordered up a High Roller Manhattan for each of us then we had to get the star of the show.. their INCREDIBLE Seafood Sampler for two amazingly priced at $56! This platter was chock full of oysters, tuna tartare, shrimp, colossal crab and lobster cocktail! Absolutely so fresh, abundant and delicious! We literally saw a party of 4 come in, order a bottle or two of wine and each person ordered this seafood sampler! We followed that up with the Crispy Duck Leg Confit (we're suckers for a nice duck confit and as it's difficult to find we order it when we see it!).. it was super tasty! We also ordered the tasty Steak Skewers, and Lobster Spring Rolls and every bite was wonderful! Service was great, atmosphere was really fun and we will absolutely be back!

The Knife & Fork Inn Dinner $77-a steal

Thank you Alessandra for accommodating us at the last minute on a very busy Saturday evening-especially without having a reservation and still giving us one of the best seats. This place fills up incredibly fast on weekends so reservations are highly encouraged. The Knife & Fork Inn is an AC institution with a colorful history and the experience lives up to its reputation. Perfect for date nights, family dinners, or special occasions. The atmosphere is warm and classic without being stuffy. The jalapeño mint granita served with the chilled oysters was heavily and such a standout touch. The Knife & Fork Inn Dinner set is an absolute steal at $77 and easily fed 2 of us. Don't skip the complimentary bread: the cranberry walnut bread was our favorite.

What a nice spot in Atlantic City! I stopped by for dinner on a Saturday night and boy oh boy is it busy! You'll definitely want a reservation for this spot. There is valet and a little bit of self parking for cars but plan accordingly as it is a small parking lot. My server, Elizabeth, was incredible. Super nice, matched the chill vibe I was emitting, and was very on top of service. Food was excellent- loved the lobster bisque (though I do prefer my bisque a bit creamier) and the salmon was an absolute delight. The restaurant is quite cozy but it can get quite loud (just something to keep in mind if you are booking.)

Have been here before and I am never disappointed! No complaints about the steak or sides. The high roller Manhattan is slightly on the sweeter side. Hands down the best Manhattan I've ever had.

We could only get a 4pm reservation so we snatched it up. The bar and second floor were packed when we arrived. They have a small lot and valet parking. The restaurant is a large old house. You have to walk up the stairs to get to the floor you're dining on. We were taken up to the 4th floor and had a great view of the ocean. Omar, our waiter and everyone who helped us were great. Drinks are reasonably priced. They had a good wine list at $12 a glass. We started with the calamari- light and crispy and not chewy at all. Sliders were medium rare with cheese and onions. Everyone loved the thick cut bacon and Cesar salad. We ordered multiple filets and the pork chop for dinner. The filet comes with broccolini. They were cooked to perfection! Mashed potatoes, onions rings, carrots, crispy beans and oysters exceeded our expectations. It's not listed on the menu but they will make a plate for the kids too! We had no room for dessert but wish we did. This was a great experience overall from beginning to end!

Inedible halibut

Came in from Brigantine for dinner last Sunday night. The restaurant has valet which makes driving there a breeze. We didn't have to wait long for our reservation. The dining room upstairs has a very old medieval vibe. It was an eclectic crowd dining there. Carmen, our server, was very friendly and helped make menu and drink recommendations. We each had a bowl of soup to start. My husband said the french onion was one of the best he had. I enjoyed my corn & crab chowder. For mains, I went with the halibut per my servers recommendation. Unfortunately, the dish missed the mark. It came out cold and rubbery./ tough - it was clearly overcooked and then sat there for a while before being served. I sent it back and even after it came back out 5 minutes later warmed up, it still didn't taste very good. My husband's dish on the other hand came out nice and warm and he thoroughly enjoyed the short rib. We also got the fried green beans as a side - tasty and a huge portion. All in all, it was a mixed experience. I'd probably give this place another try if I was in the area in the future and order meat.

Nice elegant restaurant, right inside of an old Inn. This establishment really makes you feel like you're dining in an old home. Their menu is mid-high price but the food is amazing. The waitress was helpful in explaining the menu to us. After our meal was completed, they offered dessert. Since we felt at home and the menu offered a variety, we each chose something off the menu. I also had an americano as well. The meal was very filling for the price.

Lobster Bisque
Eric K.

Amazing atmosphere, complimentary valet parking and very attentive service. Excellent preparation of steak and lamb! The onion rings (yes- onion rings) were addictive, the seafood risotto was outstanding and the lobster bisque was amazing. They have an extensive wine list and excellent cocktails. The dining room was cozy but a little loud. I would deduct a half a star if I could, but only because the restrooms were a little small and the stairs were a little hard to navigate. There is no kids menu here, but if you have a picky eater the sliders were good.

Cornmeal Crusted Calamari

Knife & Fork Inn is a steak and seafood restaurant located on Atlantic Ave. in Atlantic City. They are open Sun - Thu 4PM - 9:30PM, Fri 11:30AM - 10PM, and Sat 4PM - 10PM. Reservations required. My friends and I stopped in for dinner last Friday night for the first time. We had an 8:00 reservation and were greeted with a warm welcome and seated right away. We started with the cornmeal crusted calamari, which was fried to perfection. It came with pickled peppers and a delicious Calabrian chili aioli. For my entree, I ordered the Knife & Fork Inn Dinner, which includes corn and crab chowder, a Jersey tomato and buffalo mozzarella salad, a 1-pound lobster Thermidor, and an 8-ounce filet mignon, all for $76. The chowder was sweet and succulent, the mozzarella was fresh and flavorful, the lobster was decadent, and the filet was juicy and cooked to a perfect medium rare. Everything was absolutely amazing! My friends ordered the seafood risotto and the filet mignon, and they both loved their meals. The risotto is made with shrimp, crab, scallops, asparagus, and mushrooms. I had a few bites and completely agree, it's fantastic! Our service was just as impressive as the food. Wilson was personable and professional, and he made sure our first experience was a memorable one. Wedge salad

10/10! Made a reservation for a Saturday night. The place was crowded, but our table was ready. Carmen took good care of us. We sat upstairs in the dining room. We each had a drink and we were pleased with the bartender's efforts. We had a wedge salad and lobster bisque as starters. My wife got the lamb chops and I got the 12oz sirlion (mid rare). The mashed potatoes and beer battered string beans were delicious sides. We needed to take food home because the portions are large. We finished with coffee and figgy sticky pudding. I recommend Knife and Fork to anyone traveling to AC.

Ceasar salad

This place is a neighborhood establishment that has been around for years. The building is old and huge. Seating is set up on three floors of the building so if you have mobility issues, be sure to tell them when you make a rez. The three salads we had we huge and delicious. We had the beet salad, a ceasar and an arugula. Not one disappointed. We also had the French onion soup, which was tasty and cheesy. The crabcake was large, fresh and had almost no filling. It was just jumbo crab meat. The seafood risotto had shrimp, scallops and crab. It was creamy and really tasty. The winner of the night was the surf and turf. The lobster tail was cooked to the perfect temp. It was buttery and soft and absolutely fabulous. The filet was also cooked to perfection, seasoned to the T and melted in your mouth like butter. Our waitress was top notch. She was attentive, friendly and engaging. This place is a definite go to if you're in the area. Just wow.

I have only dined here once. We sat on the second floor. We were thinking about having a private event here but there will be a few elderly people in attendance who cannot climb stairs. Do they have an elevator? I realize this is an older building.

Hi Heather, The building does not have an elevator. If you are interested in learning more about our Private Party rooms and packages, please reach out to Heidi at heidi@knifeandforkinn.com. Thank you!!

Heading for happy hour on Friday...looks like the place opens at 11:30am...will the bar be open earlier if we come in for a seat at 3?

PRIDE, PORK CHOPS & PURE JOY AT BYRDCAGE ATLANTIC CITY…read more Atlantic City was absolutely glowing this weekend during the Atlantic City Great Pride Festival at O'Donnell Park near Stockton University. More than 1,000 people were expected to attend, and the energy was incredible--music, dancing, laughter, and love everywhere you looked. Just two short blocks from the festival at 3426 Atlantic Avenue sits one of Atlantic City's true gems: Byrdcage Atlantic City. I stopped in throughout the day to cool off, enjoy some mimosas and other refreshing low-alcohol beverages, hydrate, and eventually have dinner. From the moment I walked in, I immediately got why this place has such a loyal following. First, the cleanliness deserves its own paragraph. I have visited restaurants all over the country, and I honestly don't remember seeing an establishment this spotless. The interior and exterior were immaculate. Not a spot of dust. Even during one of the busiest days of the year, the restrooms remained roomy, pristine, and exceptionally clean. The atmosphere is equally impressive. The décor is whimsical, fun, and carefully curated with fascinating photos and memorabilia everywhere you look. Outside, colorful murals create the perfect backdrop for photos and add even more personality to an already vibrant space. And then there was dinner. My server, Isabella, was friendly, attentive, and incredibly efficient. She even arranged for a dinner entrée to be served before dinner service had officially begun, and I was so grateful she did. I ordered the Seoul Mate Sizzle Pork Chop Platter, and wow. A beautifully grilled bone-in pork chop glazed in a sweet and savory sauce and served over fresh pineapple salsa, alongside creamy herb rice and perfectly cooked vegetables including broccoli, zucchini, onions, mushrooms, and carrots. The pork chop was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor, and the pineapple salsa took it to another level. It was one of those meals where you intentionally slow down because you don't want it to end. And the music? The music made me dance almost all day and well into the night. There was something happening everywhere--at the Pride Festival, downstairs, and upstairs on the dance floor. The DJs absolutely nailed it. Great music, great energy, and great people. I honestly lost track of time because I was having so much fun. Management was everywhere--engaged, attentive, and laser-focused on every detail of the operation. The entire team worked together seamlessly to create something special. More than anything, Byrdcage felt like what every establishment should aspire to be: a safe space filled with kindness, inclusion, acceptance, and pure joy. It was family-friendly, welcoming to everyone, and simply fun. I even bought a Byrdcage shirt at the festival because this is exactly the kind of local business I enjoy supporting. If you're visiting Atlantic City, don't just come for the casinos. Come for experiences like this. Come for the people. Come for the music. Come hungry. Come ready to dance. And absolutely make time for Byrdcage Atlantic City. I'll be back. #ByrdcageAtlanticCity #AtlanticCity #AtlanticCityNJ #AtlanticCityPride #GreatPrideFestival #Pride #LGBTQIA #LoveIsLove #InclusiveSpaces #SafeSpace #YelpElite #Foodie #PorkChopPerfection #Mimosas #DanceAllDay #DanceAllNight #SupportLocal #FamilyFriendly #RestaurantReview #AtlanticCityEats #VisitAtlanticCity #JerseyShore #StocktonUniversity #ODonnellPark #OrangeLoop #EatLocal #ACNJ #PrideCelebration #GoodVibesOnly #PureJoy #AtlanticCityBoardwalk #BeachVibes

The bar occasionally offers live music, but my favorite time to visit is during the holidays, when they turn it into a festive Christmas spot with holiday beverages. There are fun decorations, strands of lights, Home Alone 2 playing on the televisions, and much more to really get you in the holiday spirit. I most recently tried the Pomegranate Margarita on their seasonal menu and thought it was excellent; it was not too sweet or too weak. I should note that there are rarely servers in the lounge area, so you typically need to go up to the bar to place an order, which can disrupt the flow of fun you might be having. Overall, I think the 1927 Lounge is decent on a normal day, but much better when they have a themed takeover happening.
