My wife and I went here for dinner and it was amazing. First off the whole staff is top notch. Our server Dyane (I know I spelled her name wrong) was one of the best servers I ever dealt with. Very friendly and her knowledge of the menu was superb. My wife had the meatloaf and she loved it. She said the flavor was on point, you know I had to get A taste and she was right that meatloaf was really good. I had the French Onion soup and that soup was amazing. The flavors the used went well together. They use a four cheese blend for the French Onion soup and it is good. Now on to this pork chop, I have to say certified FIRE , that pork chop was juicy, and had awesome flavor. The brown sugar apples went well together with the chop. I had a great experience here and we will go back to try other dishes. Now the location is hard to find at the Tropicana in Atlantic City, NJ. I've stayed at Tropicana a bunch but ths was my first time eating here. It's only open on weekends during the off season. The view is definitely something to take advantage here. Overlooks the beach and ocean. It's off the beaten path so you have to take the elevators to Chelsea's tower and walk over from there. Unless you're staying at Chelsea Tower. Then you just have to take the elevator down. Theres also a bar and I believe you can have food at the bar as well. Decent sized seating area and when the weather permits, there's also outdoor seating. The service was good but I was a little underwhelmed with the prime rib. That happened to be the special that night so not sure if that was a coincidence that it wasn't that good. I also had the lobster bisque which was ok as well. I'm going to try to come back next time i am able but I was a little disappointed first time around. read more

My review was not good because I will never be going there again. They used to be open Fri-Sun. When I went to make a reservation for a Sunday night in June it said nothing available. I called the restaurant to find out that they are now closed on Sunday's. Never heard of a restaurant that's only opened Sa-Sun. It was one of my favorites. Chelsea Five is a gastropub located in the Chelsea tower of the Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City. It's quite the journey from the main parking area so be prepared to walk far. The ambiance is great for a date night or small group with beautiful ocean views! Definitely make a reservation because every table was booked on Sunday night when I visited for Restaurant Week. I looked at so many menu offerings for the 3 course special, & have had my eye on the pork chop for some time. This dish was highly recommended by the waitress which was another great sign, so after starting with the tasty Lobster Bisque, I got the Double Cut Porkchop! It is spice rubbed with bourbon & brown sugar apples on top & served with a red wine reduction. The chop itself was cooked to a perfect medium as I requested & so juicy & tender. It's the most flavorful Porkchop I've had in ages! We ended the meal with a Chocolate Jubilation cake that was very delicious & decadent. For $40.24 per person, this was a great deal since the regular price of the Porkchop is $39.99 so we essentially got the starter & dessert for free! The entree is also the regular size & not a smaller offering like at other restaurants. Sides & drinks were extra. If you come on a Sunday, definitely expect the early bird special. The service was very good. Everything we had was delicious. Started with the calamari which were seasoned perfectly. Also ordered clams casino which I'm rarely ever impressed with but these were spectacular. I had the salmon with risotto and hubby had steak. We had 3 sides- creamed spinach & artichokes (wow!), grilled asparagus (perfect) and truffle fries (so darn delicious). My wife and I were guests at Tropicana Resort. From the time we entered, we felt uncomfortable. The lady who was a busser was rude to us. Our server, Jadranka, was also being rude to us. You can definitely say that racism and discrimination are encouraging this location. Jadranka was not being attentive. We were eating our food, and Jadranka never came to ask us how our food was when she was right next to us, talking to the table behind us. She was also making my wife feel bad when she kept asking her to repeat herself when Jadranka did not speak clear English herself, because I had a hard time understanding her when she was speaking. Also, the way she left the check on the table was also not in a professional manner. We also had to wait over 10 minutes to pay because Jadranka did not ask us if we were going to charge the bill to our room. Also, the bartender who was our original server was very friendly. It's unfortunate she was not our server. We also observed that Jadranka was also being rude to the bartender who was our original server. I was surprised that we did not have a manager come over and talk to us when we were very clear about our bad experience when talking to Jadranka. Not what I would expect from one of the nicer restaurants at Tropicana Resort. Hopefully, this establishment can learn how to treat people correctly, and understand that discriminating against people and being racist are not acceptable behaviors. I will never return to this location and will let everyone I know to never go to this location to avoid feeling uncomfortable and not have to go through the same experience we did. read more

We found this restaurant while searching online for someplace nice to eat near Tropicana. We made a reservation and headed there early on Friday night. We had a very hard time finding it. We ended up asking a security guard who pointed us in the right direction. It's on the 4th(?) floor of the south tower in the Chelsea hotel at Tropicana. I'm very glad we found it because we almost gave up, and that would've been a shame!! Every server in the place, no matter their function, is amazing! The first server that came to our table welcomed us and asked if we would like water. We had another come over to tell us specials and take drink orders. (By the way, the drinks were delicious!) Yet another server brought us fresh bread, and someone else took our dinner order. Everyone was pleasant and all working together for us. We started with the mozzarella cheese curds. It's very similar to fried mozz but so much better!! Such fresh mozzarella!! My husband then ordered the seafood Alfredo. He ate every bite. He had to take a break, as he was getting full, but it was so good he had to finish the last few shrimp in his dish! I got the bourbon and brown sugar meatloaf. It just sounded good. It came out as a little, personal sized meatloaf coated in the Bourbon and brownsugar. It was very tasty, but a tad too sweet for my taste. The meat loaf itself was really good. The mashed potatoes were delicious! The asparagus was a bit under cooked, but the cheddar jalapeño corn bread was awesome. Our view was pretty, overlooking the beach,but also, unfortunately, part of the roof. Well,nothing is perfect! Just as we were finishing up, I went to finish my bellini to find a bug in it. The meals and service here were on point! We made a reservation having not been to this restaurant previously and having no frame of reference for its popularity. We were seated quickly, and then greeted by a member who poured our water and then informed us as to the name of our waiter and stated that she'd be with us shortly. There was a large group in the dining area, but the ambiance & general chatter still allowed us to converse without difficulty. Unexpected emergency circumstances required a two night weekend stay here in AC, and after a difficult few days, we decided to treat ourselves to an upscale dinner here. I had actually never heard of it, but the reviews were good. It's a bit difficult to find - we asked three different Tropicana employees and two out of three of them didn't know how to direct us here. PRO TIP - When in doubt, ask the security guards. We had reservations for 7 PM and had to wait a few minutes to be seated, but the view of the Atlantic Ocean were lovely. We enjoyed the complimentary bread bowl with the whipped butter. I really liked my French Onion soup, not as overly salty as I've tasted in other fine restaurants. The $17 Maryland crab dip was pricy, but very nicely done. Too bad we weren't hungrier - we probably only got through half of it. Finally, we split the main dish - a $54 rib eye. HOLY MOLEY, this was by far one of the best steaks I've ever had. Seafood pasta has a bit of a kick, which I prefer. Definitely a great share, all around. Can get multiple plates to sample and share and enjoy the work/prep/care they have put into the food. A Caesar salad with added chicken, cheeseburger with fries and a piece of lemon curd cheesecake. It was $49 and then an added 18% gratuity but they did include all utensils and condiments. Seriously, I had the best baked flounder (cooked absolutely perfectly with a light panko coating in a fresh lemon butter sauce, possibly with a little white wine). The staff was very professional, responsive, and friendly, too. There are tables that overlook the beach and ocean, but the back wall tables were half circle booths, quieter, and actually felt more romantic since most people were away, down on the main floor, probably wanting to be closer to the view. We have been in Atlantic City all summer season...how have we NOT visited this place by now? "Gastropub"? I half-expected a casual joint with the smell of stale beer and suntan lotion wafting through the air. Not so! This restaurant is trendy, clean, and beautiful. Right up my alley! Four of us arrived at 9:15 PM on a Saturday evening, fully expecting to sit by the bar area at a four-top table and order some appetizers. Our server, Lisa, informed us that a dining table of 4 was going to become available momentarily and that we'd have a fantastic view of the beachside fireworks from that spot. Well, sign us up! We ordered several appetizers and a couple of entrees to split. Lisa was absolutely fantastic. I love, love, love when a server really knows the menu. She made excellent recommendations and steered us toward and away from specific dishes based upon our likes and aversions. She nailed it! Everything we ordered was just as expected and explained. The cheese curds were a big hit, as were the truffle fries. I definitely ate more than my fair share of the panko-crusted crab macaroni and cheese. The fireworks were a welcomed surprise. We came on a busy Saturday night, sat in the main dining room and tried a little bit of everything. The mozzarella cheese curds are so creamy, fresh and lightly battered. The Brussels have great flavor, with a balsamic glaze, however the bacon was a little over cooked. Try the 8oz filet, you won't be disappointed- great flavor, no sauce needed. And the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich was crunchy yet juicy on the inside. As far as cocktails, try the Bees Knees with Gin, lemonade and honey. You won't be disappointed! What a fantastic brunch spot in Tropicana AC! Upon arriving in AC, we were shocked at how hard it was to find a place with a brunch menu over the weekend. We found Chelsea Five at the Trop and decided to make a reservation. It had wonderful reviews and a fantastic menu. Upon arrival in the Trop, we had a very difficult time finding the restaurant, so be sure to give yourself extra time. Chelsea Tower is on the opposite side of the casino, quite a walk away from the lobby and parking garage. When we got to the restaurant, we were absolutely blown away by the gorgeous ocean view. The view alone makes the experience! For food, everything was delicious. The avocado toast was small but excellent quality - I recommend starting with this. My boyfriend also loved the chicken wings - they were crispy and big portioned. For entrees, I got an omelette and it was delicious. My boyfriend also said the burger was excellent. I came here for dinner on a Tuesday night with a group of 4 people since we were staying at Tropicana. I made a reservation on Opentable. We came here during COVID-19 times after phase 4. There were not many restaurants with outdoor seating on the Boardwalk and the waits for a table are insane (2-3 hours). We ordered the calamari appetizer, the seafood pasta, and maple glazed salmon. The calamari was crispy and I liked the chili sauce. The seafood pasta had a lot of seafood and was cooked perfectly. The glaze on the salmon was a little too sweet for me.
