This place was acceptable a couple of years ago. Now, it appears that the management has lost control of the place. It takes for ever to get drinks and the food is almost okay. It's seat yourself, but you have to clean a table off before you can sit down. One waitress for the entire floor. The tables don't appear to have been cleaned in a long time. If the tables haven't been cleaned, I wonder if the kitchen has been cleaned. All the attention seems to be at the bar. All of the regulars and the other waiters were having a good time there. Unless something changes, we'll be looking for a new restaurant to show up here. read more

2.5 My guess is this place is still struggling from the hurricane. Not sure but they weren't ready for patrons. Or at least our party of three. The server was sweet and apologetic but our meal took over an hour and appetizers came with our meal. Beer took forever to get. Server did deduct a percent off our bill but tacos were mainly lettuce and came with a bowl of white rice (?). Feta shrimp appetizer was delicious and got high marks. Pasta and onion rings okay but nothing to write home. We sat on patio by the water. That was nice. Next time I'll insist on Greek since it is Tarpon Springs. read more

This is being written three years after my first review, but things have only gotten better at Docks Waterfront restaurant. The food, the service, and the ownership is NEW and IMPROVED!! It still has the five star location, but it's under new owners, Dennis and Olena, and the menu is ALL new! My new favorite is the Philly Cheesesteak! Melina is back and she is a welcome addition to Kevin and Tyson, serving up food, drinks, and smiles! Had lunch today , our waitress was amazing she was super quick and on top of the refills ! The scenery is beautiful if your trying to sit outside on the water , and they play great oldies music ! However the food is a little over priced and just didn't taste that great , the Mac and cheese was terrible didn't even have a consistency of mac and cheese the rice pilaf was hard as a rock stuck together , the bread with the shrimp sandwhich was gross , I just don't think the prices match the quality . read more

We went for a drink and appetizer after a day of shopping in Tarpon springs. It was nice to sit by the water and they have a lot of fans, because it's all outdoor seating. We had the peel and eat shrimp, which was very tasty, and the grouper bites, which were excellent. The grouper bites were the best I ever had, highly recommend! They also had live music, which was a fun touch. This seems like a perfect spot for day drinking. All the staff were friendly and hardworking, you could see they were really busting it to keep people happy. Our waiter told us it was "Margarita Monday", so that's what we got to drink. Shame on me for not asking in advance, but we were shocked when we got the bill and they were $13 each! read more

1 star for poor service and extra star because we can empathize a bit due to very large party checking out when we arrived. This was our first time in Tarpon Springs and this place had been recommended by friends. We had a choice of seating, either at the bar or outside area which overlooks the water. We decided to sit at the bar. It took quite a few minutes for us to be acknowledged by the bartender and he never once asked if we wanted anything to eat although we both had very visible menus in front of us. We placed our order for 2 margs and also water but didn't hear us about the water? Not normally a big deal, but we're also new to Florida and not yet used to the heat. When you park at the end of the road, this is one of the first restaurants on the water that you encounter, so we stopped. It was fairly empty on a Thursday at 1:00 so we could sit at waterfront. Our server was quick with drink orders and was very enthusiastic. The menu is varied, so something for everyone. Our food arrived in a timely manner. I ordered the chicken Caesar wrap and totally wished I had ordered something else. The sandwich was totally bland. Although there was lots of chicken, there was little or no dressing. Others had a Greek salad, a Caesar salad and a shrimp appetizer. Food was just all ok, nothing to want to come back and have again. It was just barely okay. I really wanted to give this restaurant a better review. We had the fried grouper sandwich with fries. The fries were fine after we added a lot of salt. Same for the coleslaw. The fish was not fried well. It looked good, but once we cut into the fish, we found that the batter coating was mostly raw on the inside. We sat out on the dock, but got to hear bartender's rant about how his girlfriend should not be upset when he flirts/hooks up (his words) with other women. I live in Las Vegas but try to get to Largo every two months or so to visit my parents. I always like a day to myself wandering around Tarpon Springs. I can't remember if I first happened upon Dock's this past March or June, but ever since I always include a visit to Dock's. Sometimes just to listen to the great live music when available and have a glass of wine, sometimes to have Key West tacos, sometimes just to nosh and nibble on whatever I feel like at that moment. It's on the water, casual, no frills, don't be looking for maitre'd service, but friendly people and a great place for my wants and needs. It's Tuesday, I'm sad because Mom passed away since my last visit. And today there is no live music to cheer me up. But I am still happy sitting here in the sun, eating Key West tacos and enjoying everyones' good positive vibes during a difficult season. Stopped here for lunch on a busy Monday afternoon on the docks. Wasn't very crowded and got nice outdoor seating w a view. Our waitress seemed annoyed we were there, but she also was bartending so gave her the benefit. Ordered the crab dip and grouper bites for an app. Dip was good - not too rich and had nice flavor. Grouper was also good as was dipping sauce. I had the Crab Melt sandwich and wasn't a fan. Sort of a grilled cheese with a crab cake on it ... it just wasn't a good combination in my opinion (although it sounded good). Husband ordered the Grand Grouper and was happy. Friends ordered Grouper tacos and they were a bit skimpy, but overall satisfying. Waitress forgot our clam chowder ... and then forgot an order of French fries. We ordered Buffalo shrimp after our initial order and they took forever. Waitress said her runner was on break - which led us to believe it sat under the warmer for awhile. So how about a place right in the middle of Tarpon Springs, on the water, that is not a Greek restaurant? So if you happen to be going down Dodecanese Blvd or on the water and looking for a place to dock and grab a bite to eat, this place is an easy spot to dock and walk right up to the restaurant. If your boating skills are still developing, it's not easy spot to pull in and hook up the boat. The staff is very attentive and informative, several beers on draft, and really some pretty good food. We had some boneless buffalo wings, pretty much what you would expect. Then we had some grouper bites, these were really really good! I would definitely get them again! The boom boom shrimp Poboy was really enjoyable and for me I like the way they do their coleslaw. Very fresh, very crisp, & very light on the mayonnaise etc. The blackened grouper sandwich was definitely a winner as well. As far as the burger, it was tasty a little too done for me. However I am not sure how one of my buddies ordered it so I cannot say if it was just over done or if they ordered it medium well plus. Overall a very enjoyable experience. Pull up the boat & walk up, order some drinks and food and enjoy! As it should be, and at a very reasonable price. my family and I stopped by to eat the other day and to chat with the best employee there who happens to be the guy who's out front once in a while and we heard he got in trouble because he supposedly wasn't doing his job and wasn't bringing business in on Tuesday during a very slow day/ late afternoon even though every time we have come in, he appeared to be the only one doing his job and not ignoring or being rude to customers like some of the servers and bartenders you have working there. That guy that you got rid of use to do just about everything there for any employee or customer. If anything, it appeared he was always taken advantage of because he did do so many things for so many people there. I can also tell you he not once ever complained about doing a job that wasnt apart of his responsibility. If it wasn't for that guy who I found out by one of the employees from next door that his name is Shawn, only because I am bad at remembering names and I wanted to make sure I had the correct employee so you knew what a great employee you have if it wasn't for him then me and my friends and family would have NEVER even tried eating at your place because the word on the streets are Docks is a dive bar that has rats and roaches. Shawn was the one who convinced us to give Docks a try a couple years ago, and we've been coming in ever since on days he works. If its true that Shawn doesnt work there anymore then I highly doubt we will ever be back to eat and drink since he's not there to keep us laughing at his great personality and willingness to go above and beyond to help your customers out and if the owners of Docks feel it's not a big deal to be losing one customer then they need to rethink their dedication to their employees and business. Keep in mind that we weren't just 1 customer. We would always be a minimum of SIX people 1 and even sometimes 2 times a week just because Shawn would be working. He made sure to speak with every customer and made surw each customer had everything they needed. A lot of the other employees on the floor are always on their phone and don't ever check on their tables and give them the attention the way they should. Anyway, Im sure you dont care but we will be there this Friday to see if hes working since he has always worked on weekends, and if it's 100% true that your best employee isn't working there anymore, then we will turn right around and go somewhere else since Docks has not a care in the world towards their good employees. Word of mouth does wonders to a business and we know a lot of people who come there once a week either to drink, eat or both just because Shawn would be working and once they find out he's no longer there (if it's true) then Docks will be losing so many more customers who only come in because they were brought there by him. We have many friends who go there that would have no problem finding another place to eat and just hang out to catch up on the week that's ending. Thats something Shawn got us into and returning customers, especially 6 or 8 tops are always good to have once a week if not more. If it is true Shawn doesn't work there anymore due to the rumors we are hearing then you guys really did let a good employee get away and the owners have no clue what he was worth to your business in more ways then just one and its a huge shame. I'm really hoping it's not true so when we do attempt to come in on Friday and find out it's a rumor and he's still working there then I will erase this review and make a great edit to it with 5 stars to .ale it right but until then you have me, my kids, my husband and a bunch of other friends and co workers who will not return if Shawn doesnt work there anymore due to being accused of not doing his job. Needless to say If the rumor is true and Shawn is no longer there after all those dedicated years and after being promoted then I'm sorry, but you lost us as customers and I will let all my friends who come there because of him know not to bother going there anymore because I'm hearing that he's gone for not doing his job bringing people in to the restaurant to eat during a time theres never anyone out on the strip. I think that's not even a fair way to treat any employee when the streets are empty and there is not one person to be brought in. When I inquired about it I was also told by a regular customer who apparently witnessed everything that the bar was filled but the new male owner was upset that there wasn't anyone eating hardly. I'm sorry but around here the old saying is you can lead a horse to water but you cant force them to drink. I also dont understand why the fault lies with Shawn especially knowing he was promoted to asst. Manager and in the kitchen. My party and I will be around on Friday.and hopefully he still works there. This is a great place to eat along the Anclote. It is dog friendly and they provide a water bowl for your pet. We ordered a grouper tacos and the clam basket. Both were equally delicious. Severely Understaffed. After 10 minutes after arriving we decided to seat ourselves. Ordered an adult beverage and it took at least 20 minutes to get our drinks. A party that was seated after me and my friend got their cocktails before my friend and I got ours. Took 45 minutes to get our food and after the huge wait it arrived lukewarm. Saw one couple leave after about 25 minutes when they had not received their salad. Another party left even before being seated because there was no hostess and no one else interested in seating them. Food was mediocre and service was abismal. read more

I'm shocked this place even has 3 stars. Walk past this filthy restaurant if you're ever in Tarpon Springs. I ordered a Philly Steak Sandwich. The 2 ounces of mystery meat they put in this sandwich looked like it was maybe ground beef, or old dried out cube steak, on a roll that looked as if it was smashed and maybe the last one in a bag they salvaged. I asked for some mustard, and was brought out an empty bottle with crusty mustard up and down the sides of it. I was told they only had one other bottle somewhere in the restaurant. The waiter thought it was funny when I told him the bottle was disgusting. Everyones fries were cold and nasty. The cocktails are served in small Sams Club children's size plastic cups. We arrived at your location at 2:15 Saturday and sat at the outside bar where there was a female and male bartender ! We sat and waited for 15 minutes with them not even asking what we wanted to drink. Then the female bartender says "I'll be right with you "and tended to the regulars and we watched the male bartender "buy" shots for all the regulars. After 20 minutes of sitting there we got up and the female bartender than asks if we are going elsewhere and we stated yes. 25 minutes with no drinks or food?! Good points- This place has a beautiful spot on the water, great burgers (except the cheap chips they serve with it), philly is delicious but unusually tiny, and staff is friendly Bad points- for a seafood place on the water the crab is fake and their fried shrimp is those flat frozen ones (I'm not a fan), the service is ridiculously long, the server told me that the kitchen is slow, if that's the case they should work on that. If your going to eat there count on being there at least 2 hours for lunch and word to the wise order your check the minute your food hits the table or you will be waiting forever when your down with your meal. I wish I could say this waiting thing was an isolated incident but unfortunately I come here weekly and it's the same story. Another thing I wish they would change is to give the customer the option between fries and chips or even a healthy side salad instead of the upcharge because the chips are really that bad and usually come soggy from the burgers. All and all I really love this place and the staff I just hope they improve the wait time for food, get fresh fish, real crab, and options for your sides, also their unique surf and turf burger is a must try! read more

Terrible service!!!! Bartenders sat around talking to other staff before even saying hello. Came here with my wife over the weekend and waited 10 minutes before saying hi and asking our drink order. The bar only had 4 people at it. We got 2 $7 drinks. Gave the guy a 20 and he kept our change. A $6 tip is above 20% and he didn't even deserve that much!!! Nice to say this was our only bad experience in Tarpon Springs. I suggest going to Rusty Bellies. Better drinks, better service! Enjoy that $6 tip buddy!!!!!! I had the most disturbing experience here where my friends fish was undercooked and the supposedly owner got an attitude when we said it wasn't cooked. He said it's grouper, that's how it's supposed to look like but whatever, I will RECOOK it for you. This seems very unsanitary to recook raw fish in Covid times. Then his waitress spilt my drink all over my friends foot. I paid my bill minus the spilt drink and the owner chased us out saying we owe him .86 cents and told us he gets off at 10 to come back to fight him. He was screaming, then watched us leave thru the fence and told the parking attendant to charge us for parking even though we already paid. The parking attendant then told us to eat at McDonald's next time. The one who had the issues was black and it really felt like a discrimination issue, it was so blatant. I will never go back there and will be filing a formal complaint with the health department for the raw recooked fish issue. This restaurant owners behavior was disturbing, embarrassing and threatening. I felt unsafe and will never go back there while he is there.
