Nice spot by the river. Almost missed the sign bc it's near a boat storage and dock. The hostess was extremely nice and we received a spot near the bar on the beach. The menu was very extensive and priced well. I ordered the blackened haddock sandwich. It was so tender it was falling out the bun. My father ordered a burger and he was quite pleased with it. Onion rings were very good. Our waitress was very attentive and accommodating. Only down side for me was the restaurant does not sell liquor, only beer and wine. I ordered a margarita. It was ok and probably would have been better if they added salt. Nonetheless it was a nice quiet place to eat. read more

Bike ride to Anclote! Stopped at Miss Vickie's for lunch. We both had blackened chicken sandwiches. Pro tip- ask for a side of Jalapeño mayo! This is a great lil hideaway tiki bar with great prices and greater service. The food was great and of all 6 of us, all were happy with this. So cool to hang out under some foliage and see the sunsetting. Bathrooms were really clean, always a plus to show they care about their place. Light music playing and an all around great vibe that all the people working there are very attentive and helpful. Highly recommended of in the area, will not disappoint. Me and my dad went for a boat ride for his birthday from Clearwater down to tarpon & we thought this looked like a cute place to dock up and eat at! I called ahead & asked if they had a place to dock and they said yes. We arrived within a few minutes, with our dog Raven. I didn't ask about the allowance of pets because online it said they did allow them! We thought it was gonna be perfect. However, when we got there we weren't even greeted in a friendly manner after spending minutes docking up and making our way up, hungry & excited. She simply said we don't have licensing for dogs so you're gonna have to go. My dad, eager to eat simply said "ok!" And he walked away. Super unfortunate that not only is the online written wrong, but just to be met with little to no compassion was hurtful! I hope they figure out how to greet and handle these situations better in the future. read more

I ate there a couple weeks ago on a Thuraday for the first time. I had the BUFFALO shrimp appetizer with no sauce...lol. I got 10 huge shrimp! Also had a hard cider. About a 24$ lunch with a 20% tip. Great location a little hard to find but look around...it's behind the boat yard. Great service at the bar, but they have lots of waterfront umbrella shaded tables and I heard you can see sharks etc at the edge of the patio area. Arrived at 1:15 for lunch, place was relatively busy. People were where the hostess sign is but not in an organized fashion. We didn't know if they were waiting to get in one after another or whether they gave their names to the hostess. My wife "dared" walk in and ask "excuse me is this a line or do we give our name? Hostess pushed back with both arms up with a big sigh "just give me a minute". My wife said I'm just asking what to do, same sigh same both hands in the air same give me a minute. We visited this casual restaurant with friends after a boat day, the atmosphere is very beachy and relaxed. I ordered a turkey sandwich, which was served with Lays chips and a small portion of coleslaw, there is a $2 charge for that. The sandwich was good, my husband ordered a burger but he wasn't very happy with it, he said the bread was soggy. The server was friendly and quick to take orders. We were 6 persons that went to miss Vicki's, very disappointed with the haddock wrap, very soggy & couldn't pick up our wrap it broke up because of the sogginess...my husband & I had the same. The Hubby and I took a bike ride down to the Anclote River Park to do some sight seeing, and then decided to see if we could get a seat at Ms.Vickis. the last time we tried, it was full, but now that it was Autumn, we tried again and luck was with us, and we scores a table. Hunter was pure server and they were attentive and kind, bringing my hubby the last 3 of the lemonade thru had. We were told they were down a fryer, so a few things were off the menu, but that was ok for us, we didn't need fried food. He ordered the chicken wrap and I ordered the chicken platter, we both got sides of potato salad and mine had some of the best Cole slaw ive ever eaten. This place is very good, My burger was cooked perfectly and my mozzarella sticks had the perfect cheese pull. It's very, very crowded so a reservation should fix that for you the only negatives are small parking areas so it's hard to get out of the spot you can find, the waitstaff could be nicer to each other and it's beer or wine only which was a big bummer because I'm a liquor drinker. It's VERY casual and that extends to the food. The fryer features prominently, but they do have a steamed shrimp. So there are options. This is, by no means, a fancy place. But the food is good, the beers are cold, the service is great and the view of the Anclote river is fantastic. It takes a little effort to find. It's tucked behind a boat high and dry. You drive in its parking area to get to Miss Vicki's. One thing that stood out; the care employees took about Covid precautions. I watched the hostess wipe down our table, seats, and condiments. Later, she wiped down the back and front of each menu after use. Bravo for doing their best. My blackened shrimp wrap was great. Wife reports her chicken sandwich was good. The pandemic is taking restaurant business away, but this place is making an effort to rise above. read more

Tom Terrific here with another honest restaurant review. My thanks to a large metropolitan newspaper for their request for an interview. This was my second visit to Miss Vicky's On The River and the first time I ordered food. I saw the other reviews which suggested that their food quality and service was in decline, so I was hoping for the best. My visit was on a Sunday at 4 pm and they were busy. I can tell you I was very pleased overall. I'm hearing impaired and I was not able to understand my server's name but she paid a lot of attention to me to make sure I was properly taken care of. She smiled! That's always good to see. I started with a Michalobe light draft for $3.50. It was good and cold. ( I had the same beer at Marker 8 in Dunedin, $4.50). I ordered the bacon cheeseburger and asked for cheddar cheese. You had a selection of cheeses. I got free lettuce with it. You could also get free onions. In 20 minutes it came with a small package of Lay's potato chips which are my favorite chips and a pickle spear. The burger was so hot it almost burned. Yep, right off the grill! The bun was firm and didn't fall apart. The bacon was very good quality done medium and the bacon strips covered the burger. The cheddar cheese was properly melted. There was a delicious taste of bacon in every single bite. They didn't go cheapie like some places, the bacon was great. The bacon cheeseburger was $12. I asked for another beer. I tipped the server $4. I asked the three people next to me at the bar how their food was. They were very pleased. I asked if the french fries were hot, they said they were. One got cheese on their fries and it was piled on all over. No cheapie portion there either. They also had sandwiches and all were happy. From what i could see of the menu the prices were not out of line. They were affordable. NOTE TO SERVERS: President Trump says that when elected he will see about having the tips received by those in the service industry NOT TAXED. Biden is the polar opposite. His 87,000 new IRS agents will focus on those receiving cash tips. President Trump said that as part of his plan for further tax cuts, he would eliminate taxes on tips for "restaurant workers, hospitality workers and anyone else that gets tips." The view of the Anclote River is worth the visit. It's so nice to see the seafaring birds, the boats and jet skis going back and forth, the glittering water and the salty air makes coming to Miss Vicky's a wonderful experience. Lots of inside and outside seating with umbrellas. It's next to a marina so if you like boats you can browse the dock. I noticed a stage but was not aware of how often they have music. We LOVE Miss Vickie's! A regular dinner place for us, especially lately! It's ON the river, in a marina, a little off the beaten path, but worth it! We both had blackened haddock, fries, a pineapple cole slaw and shared a mini Greek salad! The potato salad was delicious, in the salad, nice dressing, just enough. The mail attraction was the blackened haddock, done to perfection, for the 3rd time in a row! Blackened seasoning on both sides, seared to stay on, not crumble off , like others. The fish was perfectly cooked, moist and "tight", a fantastic job by the cook! This is a "go to" place for us. The only downer is that they no longer have live music. Not like it was the greatest, but it gave "atmosphere", being a small, local, on the river spot. All in all, we will continue to support Miss Vickies on the River! read more

We stop here a couple times a month for afternoon cocktails and a bite to eat. Food is typical bar fare but always fresh and good. Service is quick and friendly.
