Very helpful answering all of our questions and even making suggestions. 3 of us got the Fish and Chips (2 of us shared 1 meal) and the other got the Captains Feast. The Fish and Chips is more than enough food for to feed 1 person. 2 Large pieces of flounder, fries, and slaw. Very fresh and crispy! (We had enough left over for my lunch the next day) The Captains Feast grilled, was also very fresh! Flounder, Scallops, Shrimp, Crab cake, and he ordered chips and slaw as a side. I wish I could give 5 stars because the food and our waiter, Jake, were fantastic. However, even with our 5:45pm reservation "with handicap accessibility" noted, we were told by the belligerent hostess that we would need to sit at a high top or wait 1 hour. I told her to look at my mom and that I would not be doing that. She just said, "well that's the only options you have, I can't hold tables." "Well what is the point of a reservation with notes?" I replied. She proceeded to blame the other host and said "she didn't see anything and couldn't help, we would just need to wait." So I said "that's unacceptable." And when she replied again that she"couldn't do anything." I said "well let's talk to a manager then, because I'm not lifting my mom into one of those chairs." So she stormed off and the manager immediately apologized and said she would fix it while the hostess said I was yelling at her. Unbelievable. I just think the hostess needs a different job. I have never experienced someone so argumentative and rude as a hostess. Then I come here and read comments and clearly she is working a lot and ruining this awesome restaurants reputation. Great place to come to for a drink and an appetizer! This is a Tiki style restaurant, that has indoor seating and outdoor seating. We chose outdoor seating at 4:00pm and we came to find out that, most of the seating outside had fans blowing a nice cool breeze throughout your whole time being there which, was very satisfying. We both got a small cocktail bucket of there speciality drink "Florida Bucket" which consist with, Wicked Dolphin Coconut, Banana, and Pineapple Rums, a splash of dark rum, orange and pineapple juices, and a bit of grenadine.(Very fruity and delicious) For our appetizer, we shared Nachos (with FRIED chicken) Topped with chopped fried chicken tenders, beans, nacho cheese, pico de gallo, and jalapeños, and Caribbean BBQ sauce an dripping with queso sauce!! Very delicious!!! While you eat/drink you are taking views of the gulf, and watching people bring their boats in for a bite, or dock their boats into the boat club right next to the restaurant. Also, there is live music! I'm a fan of live music while dining! Service was good, 5 stars would have been warranted if, service was more attentive. That doesn't stop me from returning. All-in-all GREAT place to come for a drink and an appetizer to share before dinner time at home! They have an extraordinary menu if you wanna come and have dinner! Great spot right in the water in Tarpon Springs. You could have a nice view of the Anclote river and the boats going by as you snack and dine at this great little location. We had the fish and chips and the captains platter along with the blueberry crumble cheesecake and all were super super tasty! Excellent service as well so this is a spot. We went on a Friday night and got a high-top table right by the water, which made for the perfect view. There was live music playing, the vibe was super laid back, and our server was so friendly and welcoming. To start, we all shared the buffalo shrimp and without even planning it, everyone at the table ended up ordering either the blackened grouper tacos or fried shrimp tacos. They were delicious. We've been here a couple of times and the food has always been good. We love the sitting by the water and the whole vibe. We had the pulled pork Nachos and the fish spread. Thank goodness we shared the nachos, the portions was enough for four and there was a lot of goodies in it. Sometimes you get nachos with the stuff plopped on top, but these were delicious and had pork and all the goodies mixed throughout, so good! Our waitress was so nice and very attentive. We have passed this restaurant many times & always wanted to try it. Tonight, we did. We were seated outside on the ground floor. But I smelled cigarette smoke and mentioned that we wanted no smoking. So the host took us upstairs, and offered us a table outside. But since there was a possibility of a smoker in the area, we asked again for non smoking. He took us into the upstairs dining area. We were the only ones there and wondered about the service. But the service was excellent. Our waitress was knowledgeable about the food. We did not want frozen fish, and the grouper was frozen as was the fish and chips. Husband got the fried shrimp, & Friend got the crab cake dinner. I got the tropical salad without protein. While we ordered, two ladies came in to sit at a table near us. Our meals were delivered shortly after. We did enjoy what we ordered, but none of the meals was exceptional or memorable. However, the service was both. The ladies left before we paid our bill. So we enjoyed having the dining area to ourselves after eating, and talked for another 30 minutes. We walked downstairs, by the solo singer playing guitar, and out to our car. Singer was pretty good. We're not sure if we'll be back. There are so many restaurants in this area, and being just okay is not a good reason to return. read more

Great first trip here over the weekend. Having dined across the water in the touristy area of Tarpon Springs we'd always wanted to see what this place was all about. So glad we decided to try them out! Capt'n Jack's is a great waterfront bar. The feeling was that of a beach bar minus the sand. Sitting right on the water where there are plenty of pontoon rentals heading in and out made for some fun people watching too. Drinks were good, just needed that fresh ground nutmeg for the painkiller but otherwise very good. For food we both enjoyed the nachos and had Mahi prepared both as tacos and as a wrap. My wife and I both thoroughly enjoyed our experienced and promised to return soon. Bonus points for modern and very clean restrooms. Well done! read more

They may have outside handicapped parking but if you need to transfer from your walker or wheelchair to a handicapped friendly table or chair, I was directed, with my walker, to a virtually vertical staircase to a standard table and chair upstairs. I asked if they had an elevator? She said "No you have to walk up these stairs." I said " Do you not see my walker? How do you expect me to do that?" She just looked at me like well your out of luck. I said " I am going to find a more handicapped friendly restaurant. I went and spent about $ 100.00 at a another restaurant NOT in Tarpon Springs, so not only you but Tarpon Springs lost out also. They were setting up for live music. I am not a fan of live music when I eat. It is usually to loud and you can't enjoy conversation with people. We were seated quickly and our waitress was there fast to get the drink order. She was pleasant but not overly intrusive which was great. We ordered the Calamari and half a dozen fresh oysters for our appetizers. My son ordered the ultimate fish sandwich and I selected the Mahi Ravioli. The view is excellent and weather was perfect for eating outside. The oysters were small but tasty. The calamari on the other hand was delicious great. The music has started and as I thought it added nothing to the atmosphere. Should have gotten seats further away live and learn. Our food arrived and that fish sandwich is huge. My son he could eat it with or without the tartar sauce. It was just huge to my eyes. Now my meal combined the unique taste of mahi with ravioli and the cream sauce with the mango salsa as a topping. The salsa was mild so it was not overpowering. I highly recommend trying it. Except for the music I liked this place. I give it 3.8 stars. read more

We have lived in this area for 5 years and have been at Capt Jack's several times with our little dog in her stroller and today when we went we were turned away as she is not a service dog but is well behaved. This surprises us as we were there last week with her with no issues. This also surprises us as the owner came to our table a couple weeks ago and told us about his dog he brings everyday. We will definitely not recommend to our pet family friends and will not be bringing family and friends there. read more
