We were scouting the nearby Island View Casino to throw a couple of Andrew Jacksons into the slot machines. Our group of 4 were hungry and it was lunch time so we looked around for something lunch-ish. This is what we found! No Yelp info posted and thus another reason to go on in. The first question asked of us was "did we want outside or inside." Thinking it was a 2nd story and it was a cool breezy day, we asked for inside. BAD BAD decision for the 4 of us as "outside" is kind of outside but well protected from most breezes and sun with a gorgeous beach and Gulf view! The next question asked was "did we want a menu" and the 4 of us nailed that one! I knew I wanted a salad as my seafood and fried food filled meals were without greens. LOTS of salad options on the small menu! I ordered the Chef salad. It was HUGE!!! Enough for 4 small salads or 2 lunch salads. Me being me, I ate it all. It was really fresh, tasty and and would make my doctors happy. The rest enjoyed their selections and all noted this would be a place to return to on our next trip, except outside. The server was fantastic as she was very helpful, kept us apprised of our orders and kept us smiling. Cost was slightly high, but hey, this is a casino so go get lucky!

Mostly everyone was getting it to go. Now I understand why, being it was weekday lunch time rush. A lot of locals and local businesses were getting their food for lunch. I thought it was going to be a long wait. However, many people said they already ordered a must picking up. We mentioned it was our first time. Was curious what to get. In honor of the restaurant name and was hungry. They recommended the monster sandwich with provolone cheese over mayonnaise and Cajun mustard. They will dress it up as wish (customized your condiments and toppings) . To round out your meal. They offer either a fountain drinks, bottle drinks, small bag of chips, and a cookie if you desire also. Great area. Plenty of seats. With a picnic tables. If you are a chess player. They have a chess board in the corner. They have a tv in the corner. I could not tell if they off WiFi? Great place to eat and enjoy. Casual dining atmosphere. If you want. Many get their food to go. The sandwich was delicious! I got full fast and was satisfied. Order more than I should have. Order with my stomach. Oops! I eventually finished it. It just took me longer to eat than usual. Not complaining. Make this part of your lunch routine. No military discount at this time.

We went on day that unfortunately was raining; so we time it out when the rain stopped or slowed down. It is nice little restaurant. They mainly offer takeout only. They do have dine in sorta. Is not an inside but a few picnic tables with a cover. The cover is not big enough to block the rain. They have plenty of parking. It is located in small shopping center. As we arrived and walked up. The smell of something delicious brewing! They unfortunately just only accept cash. The menu is conveniently posted on the wall and very easy to read. We just had few people in front of us. I opted for the fried oyster and fried fish (swai) platter. We had to get a shrimp poboy. They are well known for their sandwiches. We also got an order of onion rings and Shrimp Lo Mein. She said our order will take a while. She gave us a buzzer. She advised us we will buzz you when it is ready. We waited in our vehicle. As we paid for it. Just happened a crowd of people showed up. It actually did not take that long to cook. On the way home the smell of deliciousness filled the air. The oyster and fish platter looked amazing and tasty. It came with a small cup of potato salad, roll, cocktail sauce and tartar sauce, hush puppies and a generous amount of crinkle cut fries. The shrimp poboy was large with plenty of large shrimp. It came fully dressed (mayo, lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles) Large order of onion rings. Order of Shrimp Lo Mein. Very tasty! All were so delicious and amazing! Besides the weather. Recommend making this your next takeout meal.

Had it not been for Yelp, we would have never seen the Juicy Caboosy, as it sits back 1 block off the beach. Don't let the looks fool you, as this place is definitely "legit". The exterior is intriguing; especially if you like trains, but one would be remised if you think there is no room to eat. The caboose itself is actually the kitchen. This is a counter service restaurant, and you can either outside or take your food inside the climate-controlled dining room that is almost all glass and offers great views and natural lighting. I ordered the coast scramble with the seasoned potatoes, and it was pretty darn good. This is the kind of breakfast that will "stick to your ribs" and be with you for a while, so you definitely won't be leaving hungry. It would probably be great for a hangover too, but I digress. I truly cannot recall what the wifey ate, but I don't recall any negative comments. My son got the pancakes and they were pretty big. Luckily for me, he let me sample them, and they were delicious. I would definitely go back here and try one of their wraps & flats or Harvest Bowls. So, the next time you are cruising down the coast in Long Beach, Mississippi, take a look to the north for the red caboose and stop on in for a great meal.

Unfortunately we were left pretty underwhelmed with the experience. It's not that Woody's is bad, per se, it just isn't...good. The service was great. Our server, Jaclyn, was very attentive and helpful. She didn't hover but she made sure we had what we needed and was nearby if we had questions or requests. Jaclyn recommended the margarita, which is where things started going downhill. My dad ordered a classic lime margarita and didn't take more than a couple drinks of it. We all tried it and agreed it just had a nasty flavor. Sort of like bad white grape juice? It was weird, and of course there's a little asterisk on the menu that notes all alcohol sales as final. We were unimpressed with that but didn't even try to argue the point. Our food came next. It was actually incredibly fast service, especially considering the 30-top that was seated when we arrived, with their orders given to the kitchen right before ours. Everything was hot and fresh, though not all delicious. Here's a run down of my family's reviews of their food: Build-A-Burger w/ Amer. cheese - A bit too thick and tough like the meat had been slightly overworked, but it had a great flavor and was seasoned well. The edges were burnt and it was well done, not medium well. Good beer-battered fries. Spicy Hawaiian chicken sandwich - Very flavorful and tropical but the toppings made the bun soggy and the ratio of filling to bun was way off, even with ham and lettuce removed. Crab cake tower - The fried green tomatoes and sauce were great, as was the corn bean salsa that came with it. The crab cakes were good too, though nothing special. The shrimp on top were juicy and well-seasoned. Wouldn't go back for it though. Korean pork tacos w/ mac & cheese - They were okay. The slaw included was a bit too sour but the pork was juicy and flavorful. The mac & cheese was too bland. Chicken strips & fries - The chicken tenders were cut wrong so they were hard to eat. I had to cut them up with a fork and knife to get bite-sized pieces that I could chew. They had a good flavor but the technique needs some work. The beer-battered fries have a strange seasoning on them that got more unpleasant the more I ate, but everyone else liked them, so that's probably just me. This is one of my least favorite restaurants we've been to on the Gulf Coast, which is unfortunate because I honestly thought I was going to like it a lot! For the price, I don't think this is a great place, especially because it's pretty out of the way from the main drag(s).
