Drinks were pretty weak. We ordered mojitos and they lacked the taste of a mojitos. Service was rough. This place was packed but we waited a long time for the food and even for the check. It was hard to get drink refills or even extra dressing and waters. The view is super pretty and they have a bar at the waiting area. The food was just ok. Four of us visited this restaurant in a Tuesday night. They were fairly busy but we were able to sit quickly. This place is totally redone from the previous time I was here. Big improvements! A rally nice open area right when you walk in. A lot of TVs. This is also right in the water. They have some seating that is more inside in case you don't want to be outside. We had great weather and sat outside. They had a bunch of heaters running in case you were cold. They are focused on comfort. The waitress, Michelle, was fantastic. Top tier waitress. She was training someone too but nothing slowed her down. Very impressed! We ordered a salad, burger, fish tacos with blackened grouper, and a Turkey BLT. All of it was good. No complaints. The reviews on the salad were very high. Fresh and crisp. Everything else was eaten all up! A decent beer selection too. Local stuff along with other options. I would be very happy to go here again. At night they have green lights on in the water which attracts fish. And that was cold to see. I hope this place keeps it going! read more

This used to be one of our "go to" spots, but it's been off lately. Two times ago I found a chicken wing bone in my grouper tacos and then last night we waited almost an hour for our food on a relatively slow night. And one of our meals was switched with an order two tables down. Disappointing for sure. The food we did get was pretty good though and sever was mostly attentive. This place used to be fantastic. We understand poor service during season but it's the off season now. They seem to be suffering from being severely understaffed. We ate there Friday lunch at about 2:30pm. It wasn't very busy but It appeared that there was only 1 waitress working the outdoor area where they allow dogs. She was struggling and it made for an uncomfortable dining experience. We felt bad for the girl but couldn't get drinks or things we needed in a timely fashion. Friends of ours ate there yesterday for lunch and had a similar experience, 2 people working outside running around and struggling for prompt service. Meanwhile there were many staff members just standing around. Very odd. We will stay away a while until they hopefully get this worked out. read more

The New England clam chowder was very good. It was creamy and had lots of minced clams. We ordered fish and chips which also comes with coleslaw. The fish was good the haddock was flaky and the batter was crunchy but the fries were limp and greasy. The slaw had no dressing. The tartar sauce was on the sweet side so not our favorite. The ambiance was very loud. It was impossible to have a conversation without shouting. Our waitress wasn't attentive. Someone else brought us the food and she never came over to check if we needed anything else. I don't think we will be back to the Dockside Waterfront Grill in Venice. read more

Dockside is one of our favorite restaurants in the area. We've been there scores of times, tried tons of entrees and apps, and have never had a bad meal. The service is excellent, although sometimes you feel a bit rushed. Pricing is not cheap, but the quality of the food justifies the $. Dockside gets a pretty even mix of locals and tourists, and you'll often see large parties having family gatherings. So it can get a bit noisy. They have a fairly big bar that attracts a lot of locals at all hours. Very busy at dinnertime in season, so call ahead. The adjacent parking lot can fill up, but they have additional parking under the viaduct. read more

First hostess greetings was very friendly and pleasant. After about a 30 minute wait on a Wednesday night, there were several tables o0en and we sat at a very slow pace. Our table was called and they patiently waited for my husband to get back from the car. Table was inside right on the water. I have been dining here for quite a few years and have never had such terrible service in all the time we have been coming here. Our waitress didn't even take our drink orders for 20 minutes after we were seated then I had to get the hostess to get her back to take our order. We only saw her again when we were done eating and she brought me another iced tea. We had to ask for the check or we would still be there. The manager came over and I explained what happened and he told us he would expedite our order. I was so unhappy with the service I gave the hostess a better tip than I gave the server. I know it gets busy but when the server is more interested in all the tables with more guests at them obviously for a bigger tip than she is in the wrong business. Every customer should be important. We will probably not go back there which is a shame since the food was very good read more

My husband and I tried Dockside for the first time for our anniversary. It was recommended to us by some friends in the area and it did not disappoint! Our server, Kiley was amazing! It's hard to find a good server these days and she was so knowledgable and sweet! Definitely ask for her when you go! The restaurant had indoor and outdoor seating and was directly on the water. Boats are docked outside the window and you can see people pull in and out on their boats and jet skis, made for dinner and a show lol their food was delicious, my husband and I loved the calamari appetizer, it comes with a delicious marinara dip and wasn't too chewy like a lot of calamari can be. We each tried different kinds of grouper and the grouper wasn't bad but wasn't the best we'd ever had but the sides were very yummy! We'd recommend the fries (believe it or not) and the red skin potatoes. Only complaints were that it was a bit warm inside without AC especially if you sit at the bar and the hostesses weren't super friendly but neither of those things will keep us from going back overall! read more

We enjoyed our fruity drinks and grilled scallops & shrimp at the busy bar. The lobster bisque and homemade fresh corn salad were amazing! If it was possible, I would give them a 4.5 because of consistent good service and food. I'm not sure why I've never reviewed this restaurant because it is really one of my favorites here in my town. I've always been pleased with anything I've ordered here-but let me just say that they have one thing in their menu, that if that's all I could have for the rest of my life, I'd be totally okay with it, and that would be the tuna nachos. They are down right amazeballs. All of my visiting guests are brought here and they too have never been disappointed. I can't wait til the parking lot is finally finished after all the crazy construction going on!!
