The place had ample parking and staff to brief you on the expectations. The pontoon boat was Fair condition but WAY too under powered. It had a little 50hp motor that didn't have enough power to get the bow up a bit to prevent water from splashing in. There was very little difference of no wake speed and full speed. A light chop the folks on front got wet. For the price I would expect better performance. read more

My family took a parasailing tour here last wknd. Highly pleased with the place, the service and the experience. I called a lot of places and this place was the best priced. I called for directions and the lady who answered patiently gave them to me. My husband and stepdaughter were the brave ones. Myself and my 6 year old went along as riders (riders have to pay too, just not as much as parasailers). My husband and I were able to bring along drinks (as in 1 each) we bought at the bar adjacent to the company while we were waiting. The 2 staff on board were super great! Very friendly & professional. They took the time to chat with my daughter about kindergarten life while the other 2 in our group were parasailing. On our way in, they let her "drive"- she was beaming with pride and this mommy was so happy for her. The overall duration seemed a little short to me but it's just the nature of Destin- everything is a little pricey. I didn't time it but I'd say it was 45 min total from leaving to docking. The office is a little hard to find. It's down a small road that's between buildings (there's a blue & yellow "Dockside" sign on the side of the road), park at the lot all the way down at the end then walk down the sidewalk between the bar on the right and the bathrooms on the left. Probably the most unprofessional staff I've ever tried to work with. We made a reservation a month ago to take a boat to the air show in Pensacola. We were told by the staff member working the day we made the reservation that it was not a problem. Apparently it was a problem. Which is not a huge issue. However the manager was completely unprofessional about the situation. We made the reservation with the understanding we were going to Pensacola. If we show up on the day of the rental and you are unsure where we are going, that's your problem not ours. You made the reservation with us. However, we were still willing to take the reservation and only go to Crab Island. We were willing to take the boat to crab island and crab island only. We were not even trying to argue the point of going Pensacola. We were going to just go to Crab Island. However, the manager decided to belittle us and tell us that if we went to Pensacola he would send the Sheriff department after us. Completely unprofessional staff. Unless you like being talked to like you're a child, I would avoid this place! There are a ton of other great rental locations out there. Don't give this place your money. read more

I booked a reservation for a pontoon boat over the phone. I showed up the day of my rental and everything was ready to go. I was the driver so I listened closely to the safety briefing and specific areas of concern. We quickly got out on the water and spent all day enjoying the sun and fun at crab island and touring the bay. The pontoon boat worked well and we didn't have any issues or problems. It is our first time renting/driving a boat. After moving to FWB two months ago, we feel we owe it to ourselves to get on the water and have some fun. We rented a fishing boat for the bay sightseeing. Originally we wanted to go into the Gulf, but the choppy waves scared these two rookies ;) When we got there, Jaithan was absolutely pleasant to work with. The boat looked new. We were told nothing they have is over 2 years in service. Jaithan got us quickly oriented and we were on our way exploring. It was every exciting. We had an awesome experience. Maybe because it is the off-season, but Dockside was very accommodating in price and rental length. We thoroughly enjoyed our boating experience with Dockside. We'll be back next year. read more

This was a wonderful day, until they charged us for a " scratch". No one recked the Jet Ski, or even fell off. What a scam. Way to bring down our experience. Tip to anyone thinking of coming, don't tip the dock help till after you see a final bill. They did nothing but pulled our rope in, and then took more money from us. read more

Deck staff did not offer to assist with bags, coolers (we only had one male with our group). The boat we were given had a missing ladder that had broken off the day before. We were flagged down and given a STEP LADDER to use. The current made it hard to use the ladder and my mom injured herself while using the ladder to climb in the boat. I would choose another rental company next time, as there are PLENTY to choose from. Rental date 9/1/19. read more

I can't express in words the fun that we had on these pontoon boats! We booked two (1 20 passenger and 1 15 passenger) for our party of 30ish. They ended up upgrading our 15 passenger to a 20. We went over to Crab Island and it was such a fun day. Our dad's drove the boat and had a fantastic time. The staff were so nice and helpful and even said they would clean up our garbage when we left. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a great experience. read more

From the standpoint of someone who patronizes this place, both "from land" and "from water," this is a friendly operator...which is actually a significant statement to make with regard to some of the dock owners in Destin harbor (some aren't friendly at all). They're pretty quick on the jump to handle boat fueling and assist you in docking. The store is clean and pretty well stocked. I haven't tried their bar/restaurant. read more

A goup of us - 4 adults and 4 kids - went parasailing with them. The posiives are they were by far the cheapest place for parasailing ($49.50/person), the parasail line/rope seemed longer/higher than the other companies' lines, and the ride out of the harbor to the gulf added to the trip and excitement. The negatives are the way we were hammered to tip on our way back in and how rigid they seemed with where we sat on the boat during the trip. It was like musical chairs and took away from the fun. I'm sure both of these negatives are a reflection on the guide, but it definitely would have been more enjoyable without it. read more

Second time renting pontoon from Dockside and the boat we had this time was not well maintained. Drove out about five miles or so and stopped and then engine would not start back up. After sitting in the bay for 30 plus minutes it took the gentleman 20 minutes to figure out it was a bad battery. He was very nice and got us on our way but a 50 minute delay for a 4 hour rental was a killer for the kids. We asked when we got back about a discount or something for our troubles but the teens at the desk did not care what we went through. Disappointing at best. Will not rent there again due to lack of care for people who are on vacation spending there hard earned money. read more

Do not rent a pontoon here - we stopped by here three separate times to see the place, boats, and check on our reservations...got the run around each time. No one would confirm or pull up details about what we could expect...where we stayed we were suppose to get a discount and free t-shirt with booking...we were given the discount but were told that they wouldn't honor the free t-shirt. Then when we were led to our boat it was not very appealing. There was standing nasty water in the sink and overall looked dingy. The gas gauge was nonfunctional. I wasn't pleased and tried to walk away but they threatened I would be charged half. We did go out and it was just okay...the steering was difficult (extremely tight) and the back door was very difficult to open and shut. This place also said that you couldn't choose your boat, but when we asked about a different boat they said they were reserved. Had we not called many times and stopped by three times this wouldn't have been so devastating, but it was ridiculous. GO ELSEWHERE .... Lots more better looking pontoons down by HarborWalk called Boogies. I sure hope this helps others. ;) read more

Terrible experience. My family of four and my friend's family of four were vacationing in Destin together this past week. We called Dockside to rent a pontoon boat and successfully made a reservation and provided a credit card number and contact phone number. I was shocked and in complete disbelief when our families arrived with four kids all excited to spend a day on the boat only to find our reservation was nowhere to be found!! They had no explanation and were out of boats. They made a few attempts to secure a boat with neighboring companies and were unsuccessful. I got an apology and then left to break the news to everyone. Luckily my buddy and his wife were able to save the day after calling a handful of places and finding a boat. No idea how you can ever just lose a complete reservation. Will never chance my vacation plans with them again. read more

WARNING!!!! The waiver that you sign to rent their boats completely removes dockside and their boats from libality if you cause damage to someones boat. It starts with their boaters safety briefing, this briefing is horrible, it done not prepare you for fun on the water in this high tourist area. We got a jet ski with an oil problem so as soon as we got through the wake zone (which takes 15 minutes to go through) it started beeping at us incessantly. We drove back very slow so we didnt blow up the engine. Then when we got back were told the owner had to give refunds and he was not there so we had to come back. When we came back it took 30 minutes for the owner to show up. He only wanted to give us 50% back because we were gone awhile. Yeah so we didnt screw up his jetski. When we showed up there was no 12 person pontoon available. We had to split up. Their equipment is old and in poor shape. Go somewhere else. read more
