I have not been to Panera for years, but I have all these little gift cards. I forgot to stop at Costco for my favorite and much cheaper Danish. We were heading to Pittsburgh, bagels, especially when I got $5 off by joining their club. We were leaving early, and I wanted to be sure to get their cinnamon crunch. Don't look at the calories, but we were splitting them with a touch of butter. Here is where Panera beats Costco. I just like Panera's selection. We arrived at the appointed time for drive-in pick up. But no one was there, and it was confusing. So hubby went inside for an easy pickup. Now I like the baker's dozen. If you order online, your choices are more limited. I would have gotten just cinnamon crunch and Asiago cheese. $5 promo applied, gift card accepted. Am now getting notifications for deals. I'm happy I joined the club. I'm happy I returned here. I don't think I'll get the danish, way too expensive. But I love the bagels and maybe I will try some of their deals. One negative, I have a physical Panera Card with $6 plus on it, but I can't use it online. There is a store closer to us in Columbus. I think next time, I will NOT order online but go into the store. If they don't have what I want, I'll come another day. This store is 19 mi away. read more

If you need some cookies or a bagel for a business lunch you can't get any better! However, if you're looking for a good dining experience I would sooner go to a local McDonald's. The dining area is always filthy and looks like it hasn't been cleaned in years. The food is always the same since it's not really hard to defrost and reheat frozen food. After driving well out of our way to get to this Panera for my daughter, who'd just finished a softball tournament...we stood in a line that didn't move for over 20 minutes. There were some high maintenance customers in front of us which didn't help, but the cashier was incredibly slow. We gave up and left. Obviously won't be back to this one. It's not like there weren't employees. It was a Friday evening and the kitchen had ~8 people hustling around...I assume for drive through orders. People were coming up to the counter from the dining room who hadn't received their orders. Maybe the drive through and call ahead orders were doing better...but walk up was a mess. read more

On a positive note, the food was ready quickly for pickup. Unfortunately, the food was not very good. The lettuce in my salad looked old and there were very few toppings. I ended up throwing much of it away. The sandwich was made from a small piece of ripped bread and also lacked toppings. I called and asked MERCEDES if I could have a refund because my sandwich was GROSS and poorly constructed and she laughed and said she couldn't give me one ad if she did not care about my terrible experience. I can't believe that it has been over 3 weeks & this Panera Bread is still out of ARTISAN HAM!! I usually order the Italian for my hubby, which to me is mediocre at best, but I still ordered it & had to pay full price. God forbid that Panera would add an extra slice or 2 of salami since they have NO HAM!!! + I had to pay almost $2 for the EXTRA SALAMI!! Then they make it almost impossible to order. The only way to order it is click on the sandwich & then go to customize & actually uncheck the ham! Holy cow!!! ORDER ANOTHER TYPE OF HAM!! But the best is........... you still get charged the same price even without the ham!!! What a HAM-LESS SCAM-LESS crock of crap this is. Either I'm a damn fool to keep placing Rapid Pickup orders from this place (because it's closest to my home), or I have way too much faith in their ability to get it right! The curse of being optimistic and hopeful. After the impressive number of times my order has been either incorrect or the menu items have missed key ingredients (like avocado, bacon, or salad dressing) one would think I'd stop 'touching the burner', so to speak. Last night I placed an order to pickup around 5:30. They are only getting 2 stars because the orders are promptly ready each time. I paid close to $20 for a whole salad and a whole sandwich to use for 2 meals. Both were supposed to have meat- chicken and bacon on the salad, steak on the sandwich. That had to be THE skimpiest order I've ever received! I don't even think that I received a whole salad because the box was just shy of 1/2 full! And it had very little chicken and no bacon at all, maybe 4-5 cubes of avocado altogether. I checked the menu again to make sure bacon was an included ingredient. It is. I'm not a huge bacon, or even meat eater, but I expect to get what I pay for! This is the salad I would have expected to pay $10.00 for at a fancy restaurant...just a little starter. There wasn't enough to make 2 meals with this. Geez!!! And my sandwich was nearly devoid of its featured meat, having 2 thin layers of steak and an overzealous, creamy mess tasting mostly of horseradish and onions which was a thicker layer than the meat. The cheese on it had made its exit during the panini stage and ended up as a dry crust circling the exterior of the bread. Bleh!! That's a friggin' $10 'steak and cheddar' sandwich? If that meal was truly worth $20 I'm afraid I'll have to eat my hat...to get full, that is. Also, why a spoon in my bag? read more

I was very pleased with my visits to Lexington Ave in the last month, very friendly cashier. One thing though, she didn't know how to charge us for putting the mac and cheese in the bread bowl so she charged us for two different meals. Now I've never been to this Panera Bread prior to this experience, but I can assure you I will NEVER be back to this location. And that's saying a lot, because I love Panera Bread. Let's start with Lindsey, the wench working the cash register. As I walked in, I nearly slipped in a large puddle of spilled beverage, agave lemonade I presumed. I informed Lindsey of the hazardous puddle and she assured me somebody would clean it up shortly. Great. Anyway, I was in the midst of ordering my favorite sandwich, the Bacon Turkey Bravo, when Lindsey had the audacity to suggest I try the Steak & Arugula. Do you take me for a fool Lindsey? I know the SteakArugula is a dollar more than the BTB. She's gonna heckle me for a dollar? What a country. Anyway, I politely refused and finished my order when I noticed the agave lemonade was still spilled across the floor. I reminded Lindsey of the spill and she re-assured me somebody will clean it up shortly. Well too late Lindsey. I took 3 steps towards that puddle of grounded lemonade and tumbled onto the floor. I scrapped my knee pretty bad, but I got back up (with no help or acknowledgement from Lindsey) and asked to speak to a manager. The manager was actually very pleasant, gave me my meal for free and cleaned up the spill himself. It was agave lemonade as I initially suspected. Anyway, the manager is the only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars. Go ahead and try it if you want, but underachieving service from Lindsey should be expected. read more

This version of Panera always disappoints me. How tough can it be to make a latte? My problem this time is that they just didn't bother to fill my order. When I reminded them, they finally got around to making the drink, but the cup wasn't full, not even close. Latte's are expensive, and when I buy a large, I want a large, please. To make this story even more sad, they didn't even bother to apologize for not filling my order. If this were a one time incident, I would be more forgiving, but something is wrong, every time I go there. I am going to stick with the Ontario store from now on. read more

Visiting Mansfield and was glad to see a new Panera Bread. Several locals warned me the service is really bad. Decided to give it a try and hope the bad rap wasn't justified. Sorry to say the service is bad. Had to wait for the employees to finish their personal conversation before they would acknowledge me standing at the counter. Half and half empty, coffee not hot, and tables dirty. Tried to give them one more try using their drive through. Arrived 15 minutes prior to closing. Noticed customers trying to enter the front door but they were locked. Thinking they just locked the doors early and the lights were still on drove up to the drive through, the employees ignored me. Drove up to the window and they looked at me but did not come over. This place will be out of business in 12 months or less if they don't get new management. Sad as I love their soup and sandwiches. I don't know what it is but most every time my wife and I go to this Panera, they will get the order wrong. She will order chips and get bread. They make it write but the aggravation still happens. Go to the other Panera Bred in Ontario and you will get accurate orders and cashiers without attitudes. Out clerk today could not use our Bread card nor enter in our phone number. called to see their hours and availabilty of the product desired, " price " answered the phone, asked if they would have baguettes, he said " we should have them, informed " price " that i called to ensure they DID have before making the drive over there, he placed me on hold for an extremely long time, before informing me that they " had some ". asked if he would hold two for me, he got rather huffy. when I arrived at the driveup window to get my order, " andrew ", the attendant on the window, seemed very sullen, and was in no way, shape or form remotely polite, nor welcoming. should anyone from management or corporate ever review this, remember: panera is a " like to have ", NOT a " need to have " to the customers, whereas, you " need " the customers to stay in business, and thus far, it seems as though the attitudes of employees will make sure that ontario will get our business, even though you are much closer. read more
