I love their marinated ribeye with loaded baked potato and salad. They promised rolls we didn't get and they're supposed to be really good.

Doesn't even deserve a 1 star ratings!! Hostess greeted us with the statement that it would be a 30 to 45 minute wait. Ok we will wait. About 15 minutes later hostess tells us that they have booth or table but it's still going to be a bit of a wait. We were seated at booth when waitress comes up to tell us she has had a bad day - only 4 tables and 2 left because of waiting on food. She tells us it will probably be at least an hour once we order for food...she thinks - that there were issues in the kitchen. We asked her to please find out - she left to go ask and never returned. I have never seen such negative attitudes from hostesses and waitresses! Must be trying to kill this business ..... won't bother coming back to this place EVER!!! read more

I'm only given this review 1 star. Food was cold when it hit the table, shrimp coctail was bait shrimp and for a $1 a shrimp, it wasnt worth it and the service was slow! My dad said the men's room was discuss ting. Water had a weird clorox smell. I know a lot of my friends like this place but I can't eat here ever again. Been here 3 times and nothing has changed so that is why I'm leaving this bad review. read more

One half a star would be too much. Went there for the most over priced and less than mediocre lunch I've had in many years. I understand this place is popular with some of the locals which leads me to the conclusion not to ask these people for advice about food. I had the fried oysters and could have eaten the serving with one bite, some cold and greasy sweet potato fries along with cold and over cooked hush puppies and some of the worst slaw I ever tried to eat. All of this for about $15, what a joke. I can only conclude the bar is the draw here and the patrons must get drunk to eat that food. read more

Love this restaurant! My husband and I purposefully make plans to stop in Marble Falls to eat at this restaurant when we are out this way. We always get shrimp, fish and fried clams! The only disappointment this time around was the famous dirty rice was "not very dirty". I don't know what the difference was, other than it was bland. My husband was thoroughly disappointed because the rice is his favorite part of the menu, he always orders an extra plate. Maybe they were having a off night in the kitchen! Our server was Jane and although the place was packed, she was delightful! She made up for the not so dirty rice with her hospitality and willing to serve with a smile! read more

I ordered 6 peel and eat shrimp, which were good sized, and very tasty. The rest of the food, aside from the broccoli and cole slaw, was average at best. I had the fried crawfish, which is best described as crawfish flavored breading. It had virtually no taste to it. Even the tartar sauce and cocktail sauce couldn't save the day. My wife had the coconut shrimp. The shrimp was large but, again, the breading was excessive. It was better when most of the breading was peeled off. The pina colada dipping sauce was pretty good, but almost too sweet. The server mentioned, kind of increduously, that a lot of customers peel off the breading of their fried okra, too; perhaps there's a message there, to not have such thick breading on the fried food. The owners should take a trip to the Deckhand in Round Rock, and try their fried shrimp; that'll give them a nice lesson in how to bread their food. read more

We were just passing through and looking for a place to get something to eat that was pet friendly. This place was perfect! We ordered burgers which were delicious. We were seated outside since we had a dog with us.. The outside patio has rocking picnic tables that were comfortable to sit at. Overall, we enjoyed it. Every time that I go thru Marble Falls, I have to stop and enjoy Doc's prime rib. It is always prepared to perfection. They have done some remodeling and I like what they have done. We were disappointed in the quality of the food for the price we paid. Nothing special, small portions, which surprised me. There was only one other couple in the restaurant at 12:30 PM. No lunch crowd at all. I am surprised they can keep the doors open. read more

I was invited for a birthday lunch with some friends, but I'm typically not a big seafood fan. I thought well, I will just get a hamburger, surely a hamburger is a safe bet. It's hard to mess up a hamburger in Texas, (I thought). I was wrong.... It was really, really terrible. The meat was as thin as 1/4 inch, the thinnest hamburger patty ever made while still calling it a "hamburger patty", LOL. And it tasted like a dirty, greasy grill that has never been cleaned. The bottom buns were so soaked in grease they were literally sitting in a little pool of grease in the bottom of the basket as the server set it down in front of me. No way was this edible....so I did not eat it. Since I was at a birthday luncheon I did not say anything or make a fuss, I just ended up leaving at the end of the luncheon, still hungry :( read more

Wish we had read the recent reviews before stopping in! My grandmother and I were on our way back from a weekend trip and decided to stop at Doc's for dinner. My grandmother had been a handful of times over the past years and said the food was always good. It seems things have changed recently! It took over 45 minutes for our food to come out, and it wasn't a full house; also our server only checked on us twice (to take our order and once to say sorry it was taking so long) despite walking right by our table over a dozen times... He seemed new due to not being familiar with answers to our questions about the menu, plus we had to grab his attention to get the check and had other people refill our drinks. I ordered the fried oysters which came out so tough and chewy that I couldn't eat half of them. And I mean literally half of every single oyster on the plate had a tough, rubber-like chunk that I couldn't even bite through! A couple of the oysters were also full of the black dirt/grit and tasted like straight up dirt. My grandmother had a shrimp salad and the boiled shrimp on it were hot; generally boiled shrimp are not served hot, plus the salad part wast just meh. When we told the server about the oysters he looked puzzled and was like "Oh man, I'll have to tell the kitchen the oysters were terrible." And then went and printed our check... I had to just ask if he could discount part of the oysters since I couldn't even eat half of them and then he said "Ummm, I'll have to ask a manager." I'm not entirely sure if he actually spoke to a manager because I'm pretty sure I saw the host helping him type in a discount, plus no manager ever came to speak to us. I've worked in restaurants, everyone else in my family has worked in restaurants, we even owned a restaurant when I was younger; when a customer complains about the food, a manager almost always appears to handle it personally. Especially if the customer is asking for a discount. Anyway, we got $4ish off a $15 plate, which was not really worth it. We were so tired of messing with that place we just paid and left and decided to never go back again. I really wish I had take a picture of the food for all to see. The ONLY good thing about it was the stuffed mushroom appetizer, it was delicious... But it was like a plate of lies that lead us into a trap of disappointment! read more

We have been going to Docs for 20 years....Have always enjoyed the service and the food. We take advantage of the $9.95 prime rib dinner on Thursdays....so delicious! We always ask for their wonderful dinner rolls along with the yummy salads and stuffed baked potato. We have ALWAYS been greeted and attended to very quickly by the servers. We drive 30 minutes from Bee Caves just to eat there.....Also, they have great live entertainment Thursday, Friday and Saturday! If they keep up the good service, they will survive and prosper.....good management along with good food and good service is the key! read more

I hadn't been here in a long time. Started with lifeless cold boiled shrimp, then a fried shrimp dinner. The baked potato was so old and hard I sent it back, the shrimp, pre breaded from a box and tasted like it. Canned green beans. Very disappointing. My wife got a cold lifeless burger that seemed to be microwaved it was so cold and unfresh. If a meal could be prepared to insure you wouldn't return, this was it. DON"T WASTE YOUR MONEY!! read more

My husband and I took the kids to dinner on a Wednesday night after church and was not pleased with the environment. We had a very sweet and friendly waitress, she kept us full on drinks and was very attentive. The frustrating part was the VERY LOUD heavy metal music reeking from the kitchen. It was so loud you could not hear the dinning room music and barely our own conversations. We were talking about it to each other and were pretty sure the lady folding the napkins heard us. She walked into the kitchen and it seemed to get better but in a matter of moments it was blaring again. We mentioned our unhappiness with the waitress and told her it was very unprofessional of the cooks and flat out rude. She agreed it was not okay and shared that the manager was not there and it was only a shift leader. So I guess they felt the liberty to play their heavy metal music as loud as they wanted. It was not a pleasant nor relaxing dinner. read more
