What a lovely venue for a warm not-yet-spring day. It was quiet and we opted to sit on the patio to enjoy the view of the marina, floating pool and lake. The entire staff -from hosts to servers to busboys - were very nice and professional. We started with the onion rings - crispy, freshly made and not greasy! I had the pork belly fried rice and my friend had the burger with a side of fruit. Nice sized servings and everything fresh. There was no rush for us to leave, so I was able to catch up with my friend. And our server even provided to-go beverages. Nice! Definitely adding this to my favorites when in town! read more

Had so much fun looking for gold coins for saint patty's weekend!! It was blast! What a cool idea!!

We went to the Waterfront Bar and Grill for a late brunch after spending the day at Sweet Eats Farm. The food was better than I expected. I ordered the Waterfront Cobb ($29), which was light and refreshing. My kids got the "BB" ($12) and the mini pancakes ($12), which were a bit over-priced, but I guess to be expected at such an establishment. My mom got the Duck Fried Rice ($18) and raved about it. She was surprised to find good Asian flavors at the restaurant. My husband got the barbacoa flautas ($21) but he was not a fan. My dad got the porkchop ($31) and it was fantastic. Overall the food was good, but I would most likely only return for a special occasion. The service was kind of hit or miss. The hostess stand was not the most friendly. There were 3 people standing there, but it took them awhile to address me while they all kept looking down. There was a wait, so I gave them my number and when I was called back the hostess was very friendly. Our server was great and very attentive without being overly present. Since there was a wait, maybe I just got there after a rush. The ambiance is very nice. I enjoyed the seaside decor and it is right on the dock so you can see the water and all the boats. Wow! Great restaurant, great patio, great food, great service! Waterfront is inside the Horseshoe Bay resort. Patio was full so we got a window table. Dane was a great waitperson. He took excellent care of us. Glenda started with a Lemon Drop and I got my usual virgin Bloody Mary. Both were great! Next came the fried calamari and onion rings and a fruit platter. Calamari is usually overcooked and rubbery. This was perfect! Good job! Fruit plate was delicious. We throughly enjoyed our light meal and will definitely go back. read more

Fantastic location for some small bites. This was our first time here and we were fortunate to have arrived just before the sun set. We didn't have reservations but were still able to get a table on the upstairs patio. We started off with drinks and I ordered an Old Fashion. Seemed to take incredibly long to get our drinks and it would be nice if they offered a greater variety of bourbons like Blanton's. We decided to have some "Starters" and ordered the Mahi Taco, Peel & Eat Shrimp, Crab Dip, Crispy Brussels Sprouts and French Fries. The Peel & Shrimp was very good. These are quite large shrimp and cooked perfectly. However, traditional peel & eat shrimp would have been seasoned, often with Old Bay seasoning. It came with cocktail sauce but no horseradish. The Mahi Taco's were good; it's blackened Mahi and would have been better if it was just plain grilled. It's served with a quite a few fillings and would have been so much better with just shredded cabbage and some chipotle mayo. But they are good. The Crab Dip was not what I was expecting. They have "Gulf Crab Dip" in all caps and bolded. But what I didn't notice was under where it said 'hummus'. If you are really hungry, this is okay but I wouldn't order it again. The Brussels Sprouts were good but they need to drizzle something atop like Thai Chili sauce or something to make it more than just plain sprouts. The French Fries you need to completely pass on. They were not fresh and just had an old taste to them; we tried a few and that was it. It's a beautiful location and when the days are longer, it must be amazing sitting outside and enjoy the view over the water. I would come back to try some of the other dishes but the menu is a bit limited. Hopefully they can make some changes. They do have boat slips so you can pull in and enjoy a quick bite and get back out on the water. read more

Very mixed review. We had a party of nine. There was another largish group. Service was glacially slow. Our server was merely adequate. Took our orders but never returned for a second round of drinks. Food arrived a full 90 minutes after we sat down. The server's excuse was "well, we have an upstairs too." I really like the layout of this establishment with two full bars, one upstairs and one downstairs. This is a light and airy atmosphere with a chill vibe. They do have some good signature cocktails, along with a couple of craft beers, frozen margaritas, mocktails and build your own daiquiris. We chose to dine inside instead of sitting out in the hot August sun on the deck. We stopped in here for an early dinner and started off with a couple of drinks, followed by their waterfront onion rings. The rings were perfectly lightly battered and fried in new oil. For the main dishes, we ordered a double smash burger, fish and chips and a skewer of shrimp. The portions are relatively small, but they do give you copious amounts of fries. I'm glad I made it a double smash burger since it is the size of a small In-N-Out Burger. The fish n chips had plenty of chips, but the fish was pretty small with just two 2 small planks. One thing we discovered after we had finished our meal was that they actually have a wine list, but failed to mention or present it. They also do not offer a happy hour during the summer season. It's a good place to dine, but you're gonna pay a premium for what is basically just decent food. The drinks are also a little bit small for the money, but they are good. The restaurant has a cool nautical theme that overlooks the marina and hotel pool. Service was fair; had to ask for coffee refill vs being offered it. The price point is expensive if you are not a member but if you're staying in the area, it's an easy walk. The brunch was good, and the salmon and lox eggs Benedict is where it is at!! The flavors of the hollandaise and spinach matched with the salmon was superb! The donkey burnt ends omelet was fine - it's wasn't super cheesy and there was not a lot of meat, but the caramelized onions and veggies made up for it. The potatoes were super bland with no sauces included. But the toast was perfectly crisp and the jam was good. The carajillo was amazing, it has a different flavor than I've ever had before! And the coffee is from a local coffee house in French press form which was yummy. read more

The food, atmosphere, and exceptionally wonderful and professional staff were all so enjoyable that we have been twice in the last few days. Usually I feel like a stepchild as a vegan in a restaurant. Not this time. Waterfront had delicious choices on their menu and I felt like a valued customer. I visited the Waterfront Restaurant recently to treat my mother to a nice meal by the river and I was not disappointed. From the moment we walked in the door, the staff were fantastic, very prompt and courteous. Our server Zack and the assistant manager Eva were very attentive and personable. Even the general manager Stacia spoke to us, making sure we were well taken care of. The view of the waterside from upstairs overlooking the boats was very charming. The appetizers and the meal was the best part, perfectly cooked and presented. I highly enjoyed my time there and my mother loved it as well. I highly recommend it! read more

Dinner with a view, this is the place to go! Food was delicious, they have live music every night, and it's right on the lake. Perfect place for a sunset evening! Pulled our boat up to their dock after a day on the water at sunset and had an amazing dinner with an amazing view. The wedge salad was one of the best I've had in a very long time along with the steak being good but I think I'd opt for a different dish next time. Oh. My. GOD. Where do I even begin with this train wreck of an experience? First off, it took over an hour just to get our drinks--ONE HOUR! And when they finally showed up? Disgustingly made, one was completely wrong, and at that point, I had lost all faith in humanity. Then, heaven forbid I ask for a simple water refill--our lovely waitress rolled her eyes like I had just asked for a kidney donation. And if that wasn't bad enough, some confused, bumbling waiter decided to drench me in ice water, leaving me shivering while my daughter broke out in a rash. Oh, but don't worry, it gets worse! Another full HOUR later, our so-called food arrives. And by food, I mean overpriced, skimpy, wrong orders. My chicken nachos came with... wait for it... no chicken. And when I asked about it? Oh, just a casual $10 upcharge for something that should have already been there! Excuse me?! Then there's the drink situation. I ordered a Piña Colada with vodka, and somehow, they thought that meant slapping an extra $40 charge on my bill for a single shot. Are you kidding me?! Highway robbery is an understatement! As if this whole disaster wasn't enough, I asked for some marinara sauce and was handed... a to-go container. What was I supposed to do, manifest my own sauce? Make it from scratch in the middle of the restaurant? And for all of this luxury treatment? A grand total of $485. FOUR HUNDRED AND EIGHTY-FIVE DOLLARS for eye rolls, wrong orders, freezing showers, and being scammed left and right. Do yourself a favor and run--no, sprint--in the opposite direction. We made a last-minute reservation here based on a recommendation from our hotel concierge and managed to squeak in. We're so glad we did! The location overlooking the dock is wonderful. The dining area we were in was small enough to feel cozy without being overwhelmed by noise, even with a couple of younger children occasionally disagreeing with their parents. The food was stellar! We started with a Crispy Calamari appetizer that was tender inside, crunchy outside, and seasoned perfectly. Our mains were the Mahi Mahi Taco and the Churrasco Tenderloin Chops w/Shrimp. The fish in the taco was delicious and the tenderloin could melt in your mouth. To end it our server Anneliese suggested Irish Coffees with extra Jameson as a special treat. This was our first time at waterfront and it will not be our last. We basically just followed the recommendations of our amazing server, Annelise, and she did not lead us astray. Cocktails were refreshing and the dishes were balanced and good portions without being too much. We had the Octopus and Lobster Mushi to start. Then got the redfish with sweet potatoes and Brussels and the duck fried rice. Everything was perfect. Finished it off with the churro/chocolate mousse dessert. The waitress was nice and checked on us a few times. That's the only thing positive. Wait was 35min for our food. It wasn't worth the wait. Food was terrible. Steak and eggs and asked for medium on the steak. I got well done and no flavor on the steak, eggs or potato's. They gave me a slice of toast and it was as hard as a crouton. I should of expected what I was served because it's technically hotel food. Wife got a burger and she said it was no good no flavor. Fries were soggy. Alright, buckle up, because this dining experience was a wild ride straight into the depths of "what in the actual heck?" First off, they handed me a drink that was clearly for someone else. Like, did they just grab a random glass and say, "Yep, that'll do!"? Then, get this, I specifically said "chicken on my nachos," and they delivered...nachos. Just nachos. Where's the chicken? Oh, and get this, the phantom chicken was supposed to be a $4 add-on, but magically became a $10 heist on my bill. Ten dollars?! For chicken that didn't even exist on my plate? Are they running a chicken-inflation scheme? Then, as if to add insult to injury, they decided to recreate an arctic tundra on my lap and the table. Ice everywhere! Like, did they think I was a polar bear? And the food? Skimpy doesn't even begin to cover it. I've seen more generous portions at a bird feeder. Honestly, a Taco Bell chalupa would've been a gourmet experience compared to that. And the servers? Don't even get me started. Our original server just vanished into thin air, replaced by a revolving door of confused individuals. We asked for marinara sauce for the calamari, you know, a condiment? And they brought me...a to-go container. A whole empty box. Are they suggesting I just... imagine the marinara? Is this some kind of performance art? Dessert time. I wanted a simple sundae, no macadamia nuts. "You have a nut allergy," they declared. Like, thanks for the medical diagnosis, but I just don't like them! And then, after asking another server for the sundae, our original server reappears, empty-handed. Did they forget? Did they get lost? Did they decide to just stare at a wall for a while? And the apologies? Nonexistent. Only after we launched a full-scale complaint did they manage a tiny sliver of "oh, we're so sorry." The live music was decent, and the dessert was actually good, and the view was nice, but seriously, save your money. Stay far, far away. As someone who has worked in multiple restaurants and tries to be very understanding, this was the absolute worst experience I have had in a restaurant. We had a party of six and ordered simple items - burgers, flautas - the food took an hour and a half to get to us from when we ordered it. We watched multiple tables order after us, get their food, and leave before our food came. Watched multiple large trays of food leave the kitchen after being told our food was "close." They ended up giving us a discount, but we did not have management come by to apologize or even try to explain why we waited an hour and a half for a burger that I could have gotten in the P Terry's drive through. There were also multiple empty tables, mid day on a Saturday. Avoid if you are hungry and would like to eat within two hours of showing up. read more

If you are looking for a nice restaurant, with good food and service, stay away from this one! My family chose this restaurant as it showed to have good views and the food looked good from the photos. However after being sat it seemed as if we were forgotten about. The waitress we had was very inattentive and our water glasses ran dry on more than one occasion. We received our appetizer fairly quickly, but after that it was all down hill. Over an hour from when we sat down did our food arrive, when it did the fish was bland and the fries were cold. The manager offered a free desert, but even that took 20 minutes from when we ordered it. I could understand some wait if the place was packed, but it was anything but, needless to say we will not be returning anytime soon. read more

Such poor customer service! I made a reservation through Open Table and had to cancel for a sickness. They proceeded to charge me $100 cancellation fee!!! You have got to be kidding me. To start, the service was terrible. I couldn't count on my fingers how many times they messed up. Not only did they mess up almost every order we put in, they were incredibly slow. It took about 45 minutes just to get our drinks, and when they finally brought out our drinks, they brought out the wrong drink! Next, once we finally got our food, one person from our party ordered nachos with the chicken add-on. There was no chicken delivered with the nachos. We alerted our server of this and 20 minutes later the chicken was finally delivered. To our surprise on the check, there was an additional $10 charge for the chicken, which on the menu was only an additional $4. The audacity is insane after you have already messed up. How are you going to mess up a simple order and also mischarge your customers? Please learn how to train your workers. In addition, whilst we waited for our food ice and cold water was split all over our table. Which is okay, mistakes happen, but how are you going to mess up this many times? Like seriously get your act together. Another person from our party asked for marinara sauce along with the calamari, and a to-go box was handed to her. In conclusion, we were all incredibly frustrated and astonished at how we were handed a bill of $488 for 8 people with this poor service and substandard food. Charging one of the drinks at $35! Save your money, if I could I would take it back and go to Mcdonald's. Wow, we are staying at Horseshoe Bay Resort and just spent 15 minutes waiting for and riding the shuttle to the Waterfront Bar and Grille, arriving at 9:05pm. Although the hours are until 10pm, we were told reservations are not required downstairs, and 4 open tables were visible, we were just turned away because the Chef is stressed and cannot serve anymore.
