Ok. I know you are tired of hearing about my experiences but I went to Slys tonight on a Tuesday and it was truely amazing again. You know you are at a great seafood restaurant when your oysters don't have any shell or garbage in them and the oysters are uber fresh! We ordered 9 of the Happahannock and 9 of the pink moon pei oysters. They were both excellent. I loved them both but I still love the Happahanock oysters the best. I loved them both many oysters especially blue point but these Hapoahannock oysters are sweeter and milder than any oyster I've have from anywhere! Also I had the swordfish special which was swordfish with a spinach and artichoke cream sauce with awesome fall veg. I gotta say it was spot on for the season and very delicious! You can tell a great seafood place by the quality and execution of swordfish and tuna. Many average restaurants will cook these fish until they are semi hard to hard and inedible. Sly's always cooks there fish to perfection! My other two guests had the crab cakes, oysters, walleye dinner, walleye special and as a first time experience they gave it an excellent 5 of 5 experience for flavor and presentation. They love this place as I do. So glad we have Slys in our little town. If you are anywhere within 25 miles you need to check this place out. There is nothing else around like it an it's our towns little gem.

Wow! We had a wonderful early dinner at Sly's this past weekend. This restaurant was recommended to us as a great place for seafood and it did not disappoint. My Son was very happy as you can see with the seafood boil. We went just to have him get this and now he would like to go back often just for this. I hear the seafood boil is 20% off on Tuesdays. I tried the special of the week, John Dory fish. The asparagus and tomatoes really brightened this dish. My husband got the Bison Short ribs but subbed the veggies for the loaded mashed potatoes. This was also very good. Our server was also wonderful and gave recommendations. They do not service beer and the liquor and wine is made by them. The drinks were great too!

First time at Sly's. Will be back. The food is so well prepared, it's like eating at restaurant in downtown Chicago or Detroit; but with Paw Paw prices! Had the Halibut and the Bison on the special menu. Ended with a Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie (also tasty).

Absolutely delicious food! We had the raw oysters and oysters Rockefeller to start-both delicious. For the entree we had walleye on top of a Cajun andouille cream sauce and rice with crab on top. The fish and rice were cooked to perfection and the cream sauce had amazing flavor! We also had a side of the brussel sprouts which were also excellent! Highly recommend! Our server was quick, knowledgeable and friendly.

Good food, had the boil. Service was fine. Nice quiet small place. It's nice to get sea food in Paw Paw.

A 4 indicates that it's good and I will definitely be back. Food: was pretty good leaning slight closer to more authentic Mexican food than many of similar places in Portage and Kalamazoo. Our table had a burrito, salad, and street tacos. Everyone seem to enjoy the quality and taste. See attached picture of my Burrito Ranchero. The included guacamole, picante, and sour cream are extremely small. Service: expected a little more responsiveness. It wasn't really busy for a Monday dinner seating. But many of our extra requested food items ie fresh jalapenos, cheese, and salsa came later with meal getting cold. Our server had no sense of urgency or hospitality. Atmosphere: We liked the seating which was private enough to have an enjoyable conversation but open enough to observe other around us enjoying themselves. Overall a very pleasant clean place with a warm fun vibe.

I was so excited about this option when I saw it on Instagram but there is so little mention of it in the menu (basically an, "ask us about our mini cocktail flight" at the bottom of a page) and no leaflet showing the flight details or price. I'm very much a person that likes to try a little bit for everything so once I remembered it after we left, I had a moment. I got a Gin Fizz and the bf got a Blueberry Vanilla Mule. The gin Fizz tasted very much like lemonade, even with the addition of cran flavoring. The Blueverry Vanilla Mule was very strongly clove. If you like clove, you'd likely like that one. We decided against getting second cocktails since happy hour had ended, but got a flight to try their stuff. We like the liqueurs but they are hard to sip straight due to all the flavor they pack. Our favorite was the Pink Peppercorn Gin out of everything we tried. We would definitely come back, but please print out the cocktail flight list or at least suggest it if people are hemming and hawing over what to get like I was.

The tour is $20 and it comes with a flight, which we were going to try anyway. Or you can just do the tour for $10 if you don't want a flight. It's not much of a "tour" in a physical sense as their production facility is small, in just one room, but we learned a lot about distilling in general, as well as a lot of information about the company and their products. I'd highly recommend it especially if you don't know much about the company. The interior has a 20s speakeasy feel, which I really liked. It's a little fancy but comfortable and welcoming. The drink menu was pretty large and it was tough for me to choose which drink I wanted after the flight. I ended up with the blueberry margarita because it was on happy hour. It was really great! Not too sweet. Nate got the cherry black Manhattan which we both enjoyed too. I loved the flight because we got to try pretty much all of the spirit offerings, including their amaro, Oaxacan green corn bourbon, and pink peppercorn gin, which were all unique and very tasty. Our bartender was knowledgable and very kind - great service. I'll definitely be back!

We arrived at 9:45pm and were seated at a cute, cozy little couch and table setup. The hostess handed us both a drink menu and a separate food menu. Looking through it, I was thrilled to see quite an expansive cocktail list broken down by "chapters," as well as several small snack options clearly marked with a gluten-free (GF) label. Unfortunately, the experience was a bit disappointing once we tried to order. Despite the online hours stating the venue closes at 11:00pm our server informed us that the kitchen was already closed. There is no indication online of what time the kitchen closes, and it was incredibly disappointing to be handed a dedicated food menu by the hostess only to be told moments later we couldn't order anything. When I asked our server for recommendations and which specific cocktails were gluten-free, she mentioned she was new and had to go check. She returned about 10 minutes later, only to give a vague answer that "most drinks were gluten-free" without offering an actual recommendation or helpful suggestion. My husband ended up ordering a non-alcoholic drink, but between the kitchen confusion and the lackluster service, I opted not to get anything at all. It's a cool venue with a lot of potential, but they should put their kitchen hours online and better train their staff on the menu.

It's next door to their sister restaurant, Lovejoy. Walking in, the space is very dimly lit with a nice bar and some cozy seating. We were directed to a couch and a couple of low chairs. The menu is organized into different "chapters," with different themes for each chapter. They also have beer, wine, spirit-free options, and a spirits list. I wanted something fun, so I chose the Don the Beachcomber, a rum-based tiki cocktail that is flamed tableside. My friend got the Obstacle No. 1, which is a bourbon drink that they smoke at your table. Very theatrical and fun! These drinks were $20+ so pretty pricey, but worth it for a fun occasion. We had a nice time just relaxing and catching up. I would say it's not a great spot for a large group, but definitely a fun date night place. They have a small food menu of offerings from the restaurant next door that sounded tasty. We had just eaten but I'd be interested in their small plates. I'm so glad I got to experience this place. It feels like you're transported to a secret speakeasy when you enter!
