It ended up being almost $500 and I got the same treatment with the manager. I explained beforehand that they had several mats due to my Won dog being disabled, and it is extremely hard to move him around and he needs to rest a lot. My other Newfoundland again was groomed beautifully. She did not need as much attention, but I was charged the same amount 250 for each dog. Yeah, that's outrageous. Finally, they have so many dogs that they're grooming. It takes them longer because they do not have enough staff. I was disappointed with the outrageous charge of the cost.

Their procedure is to make your appointment for the day and keep your dog in a little cage till they get to him/her. I told her that I lived right down the street and was happy to run over when they were ready because my dog has never been in a crate in his life and just wouldn't handle it well. She was nice enough to try and help make some other suggestions but told me that her business wouldn't be a good fit for us. This is very sad for me because I like to do business as local as possible.

When we called to make our appointment, they did an over-the-phone consultation and gave us a price estimate, which was very competitive - especially considering they were the ones coming to us! They parked right outside of our apartment, showed us their van and their equipment (top-notch), and talked to us about how we wanted his hair cut. We showed them some photos of what we liked and were able to describe how we wanted it cut (it was our first time so we didn't truly know how to best describe it - something like a puppy cut but not too short because he's a very skinny pup), and they made our vision a reality. It was so nice not having to drive across town to go to another pet grooming salon where it takes all day long, and not knowing when he would be ready. It was nice knowing that he had individualized attention and we knew exactly when he was ready. Plus, we didn't have to travel anywhere! I can't describe enough how great the convenience was having them come to us and the assurance we had knowing that he wouldn't be neglected or kept in a cage waiting for eons. All-in-all, Juan and Heather were prompt, professional, and did an amazing job with our dog. They even gave us written details on how they cut it, so that they could repeat the exact cut for next time, which is SO helpful. Monthly visits work best for me, and I gladly drive 35-45 minutes each way because I wouldn't trust anyone else with this task. A word of caution regarding any unfavorable reviews: They are poppycock. We bring both of our dogs here to get their nails clipped. Today we decided to try their full grooming services and I have to say that I'm thoroughly impressed. Our dog, Molly, looks amazing! We usually groom her ourselves because we haven't found a groomer that can cut her hair the way we like, but they hit it right on the nail! Also, in the past, we've paid upwards of $60 for Molly to be groomed, but Wagatail is very affordable at $35 (plus tip). We'll definitely be using their full grooming services more.

She was so nice on the phone and was very informative from the haircut itself to the cost and the directions to the business. Her assistant Christina is very knowledgeable and super friendly. She does have cats but it didn't seem to bother any of my dogs or bother her while she was working. She took her time and you can really tell that she enjoys working with animals. The location is ideal for Niskayuna, Schenectady, Rotterdam, Altamont and Scotia residents as it is on Dodge Street for all grooming needs including cats and dogs. I picked him up an hour after I had dropped him off and I could not believe it! He looked like a totally different dog. He literally looks like a puppy! Everyone who worked there was so kind. The salon was very clean. They were very professional but friendly at the same time. My old man is 3 lb on a good day. He is very fragile and very dramatic. I can always tell if he is comfortable somewhere and he was so happy when I picked him up and so excited to show off his new look! he got compliments at school pick up! someone literally asked me if we got a puppy! nope just my 13-year-old dinosaur!
