We walked in around 2:30 on a Sunday afternoon and we were the only ones in there. The young man at the register barely looked up from counting out his register to greet us. We scanned the menu and were ready to order, but he was still counting his till. There was an online screen to order so we did that. We ordered the Toooo Chi and The Chili Idol dogs with an order of fries and 2 small fountain drinks. It came to around $32. The food was good, and I like how it is quality meat in their dogs. My only complaint about the food is the fact that the hot dogs were served on hawaiian rolls and they were toasted. Rather have my Chicago style hot dogs on a steamed poppyseed bun. I'd say the service was how they packed our hotdogs well, and the ambiance was one of the two patio tables for four, fenced in by planters while an afternoon breeze kept as cool under the energetic hum of the "L" train. Chili Idol, Old Town, Cowboy and Tooo Chi- all looking attractive in their grilled Hawaiian rolls, and not one was better than the other. Was in town and looking for a hot dog place that serves Creekstone beef so my husband can partake and lo and behold this place sure does! We actually went to the West Wacker Drive location, which is located within Kitchen United Mix, I just don't see that as an option to leave a review for that location. The kitchen was a big confusing, we weren't sure if we were allowed to be there and order, as it seemed like a lot of Uber delivery people were there, but the person behind the counter helped explain everything. There's a tablet mounted with countless menus to choose from and self service your way through- was easy to follow and place an order. My husband ordered the Sooo Cali and I ordered the build your own dog option- with grilled and fried onions and magic sauce. We found a quiet place to sit, it was ventilated and cooler than outside but I will say you'll feel hot inside on a hot summer day. I searched for this location on Google, clicked the Order button which took me to their website, and the site defaulted to a different location without asking which location I wanted to order from. When I went to the Lincoln Park location to pick up the order, I was told they didn't have it and that it was ordered for the UIC location. I calmly asked if I could cancel that order and have the food made at the LP location. The employee working the front desk provided a phone number to call, and when I called the guy who answered refused to apologize for the website mixup and did not offer any sort of solution. He said my food could be "donated to a shelter" or I could go pick it up, which would be a 40 minute drive out of my way. I explained I would not be able to pick up the food at the other location, and he still did nothing about it. Terrible customer service - any legitimate business would 1. apologize that the website is defaulting to the wrong location and 2. offer a replacement or some kind of discount to make up for the inconvenience. Update: I contacted customer service and Leanna was very kind enough to issue a refund. She apologized for the issue and handled the matter professionally. read more

A while back, I had posted an interview regarding my "off" experience at Dog Haus, and with the positive intent of trying to out again, I finally have! This time, instead of getting seated and going through that process, I decided to order my food from the counter and sit down at the table. I definitely enjoyed the service a lot more, and the cashier was nice! the place was a bit empty, but that gave ample room for me and my friends. I got the vegan hot chick sandwich with fries, and it was alright. Nothing life changing, but it was good. the fries weren't entirely my favorite, but I think it may have been because I got really full from the sandwich and I lost my appetite afterwards. My friends also thought their food was decent, so honestly the entire meal was pretty good. I think my favorite part would be the music. They have a really fun playlist to listen and jam to. Quality gastropub in Lincoln Park, right on Lincoln Ave near DePaul. Even though the title is dog haus, they also serve burgers and other items, but the specialty is hot dogs. They're all served on Hawaiian hot dog buns, which I don't see too often. There's several varieties with different styles of toppings to choose from. I did the downtown dog, which was good. What's nice about the place is there's 2 halves to it, on one side you can order food to go, and then on the other a full service area with a bar and tables. They have a real nice craft beer list actually. I thought it was just a traditional hot dog stand when I first saw the name, but I was impressed with how nice it was. My sister lives nearby so I'd definitely go back and try some of the other dogs. read more

When I heard that Dog Haus was one of the exclusive restaurants offering Impossible nuggets, my husband and I made a special trip up from Northwest Indiana to give this place a try. Their menu is relatively simple, but their vegetarian options are awesome. I tried a 6-piece Impossible Nugget plate [$6.99], and my husband had an Impossible Haus Burrito [$10.99]. The burrito was quite large and definitely delicious. We also tried a Caramel Shake [$4.99], but neither of us was very impressed with this. The nuggets that had decided this trip for us were crisp and tasty; however, I didn't love the sauces that came with them. My three star review isn't glowing, but there's an easy fix. .. offer regular buns. I actually like the quality of ingredients, even the soft serve ice cream is good. I know Hawaiian Rolls are their thing, but the sweetness throws the burger off. The Hawaiian bread works better with their chicken sandwich, but still isn't substantial enough to keep it from falling apart. The packaging is perfect and protects the food while not trapping in steam. No one wants soggy fries. I guess the packaging contributes to the prices being a little higher. This was my order for 2 people: MR MIYAGI - tasty umami dog, great for those who are into asian american fusion foods. The deep-fried all beef dog had really good flavor and it went well with the caramelized onions, mayo, teriyaki sauce, tempura crumbles and wasabi furikake. It's served on a grilled King's Hawaiian rolls, which makes it feel gourmet compared to regular dog buns. Holy Aioli - burger patty served on a King's Hawaiian roll. The melted white american cheese, smoked bacon, caramelized onions, and garlic aioli is an awesome combo. I was worried it was going to be too small, but it felt like a regular small-medium sized burger (definitely bigger than a slider). onion rings - batter was great, rings arrived crispy. Sauce costs extra, but it's fun to try to different options -- like the basil aioli! sweet potato fries - well fried and seasoned, nothing wrong with them love boat fries - fries with haus chili and haus slaw. Smart packaging as everything came packaged separately, so the fries didn't arrived soggy and I was able to dress the fries myself. Don't know how they do it, but the chili is really tasty.
