This place is absolutely unacceptable, and I regret ever trusting them with my dog. Even two years later, I still feel strongly enough to warn others. After I left an honest review about my experience, they responded by threatening to sue both me and a rescue I volunteered with at the time. That alone should raise serious concerns about how they handle accountability. I visited daily for the entire month my dog was there, so what I'm saying is based on what I personally saw over and over again--not a one-time impression. Their "training" methods included physically poking dogs in the side and neck. The dogs did not appear to be properly fed and did not have consistent access to water. Over that month, I watched dogs lose weight, become withdrawn, and show clear signs of stress and shutdown behavior. I also personally saw a dog who was extremely underweight, had visible sores, and smelled strongly of urine and feces, as if she had been left sitting in it. No dog should ever be in that condition--especially in a place people are paying to care for and train their animals. It honestly concerns me that they still have positive reviews, because in my experience, the longer a dog stays there, the more concerning the changes become. I'm posting this again now because someone I know recently considered bringing a foster dog there. I made it very clear that no dog in my care will ever go anywhere near this place. If you care about your dog, do your research, ask questions, and trust what you see. I would strongly urge anyone considering this facility to visit frequently and unannounced. read more

My Rescue boarded a few dogs there on a long term basis, we bought their food and had it delivered yet the dogs lost a lot of weight and 1 dog was becoming emaciated. We couldn't figure it out! What we think is that they used the Rescue Food which we paid for, for the private boarding dogs in order to cut costs....! Wow these guys did such a nice job grooming my 3 yr old golden retriever mix. He was shedding a lot and needed a good brush out. He also had a patch my vet shaved from a bad grooming elsewhere. I used this dog hotel a couple years ago and had a horrible experience. The owner made me bring my dog in for a $50 daycare session to make sure my dog would be a good fit(looking back the first red flag should have probably been when the owner told me to pay in cash only). I have never had to do this before but thought it was somewhat understandable. It went fine so I had my dog stay for a week. When I picked him up he had peed his bed which is surprising, because I do not have issues with that. Even when he's been home alone for 6 hours. They apologized for it and said they washed his bed(they didn't). Later that night my dog was up all night coughing. Turns out he had kennel cough. This was by far the most expensive dog hotel I have ever used and it was worse care then any petsmarts pet hotel I've used in the Bay Area. I wouldn't trust this place with a goldfish. read more

I cannot recommend Dog Over Breed highly enough. Mo and Vic are a Godsend. By the time I reached out to them, I was convinced I would never be able to vacation or have strangers into my house. Let me start at the beginning. My daughter talked me into adopting a pandemic puppy. When we rescued our Rookie, he was only about 8 weeks old. This was our first ever puppy. We were given a lot of bad advice in the beginning. We were told only to bring him to the vet and not introduce him to any other dogs until he was fully vaccinated. Due to COVID, when we went to the vet, we were not allowed to enter. They would come to the car and get him and then return him. When I took him back to the vet for his last round of shots, he started freaking out. He was terrified. He was so scared, they actually had me walk him in. Shortly after this, I took Rookie to his first puppy social. He was scared and acting in an aggressive manner. The trainer told me that he was suffering from fear aggression and due to his age, he missed his biologically opportunity to be socialized. She suggested finding a good trainer ASAP. I found a trainer and she helped me with socialization and basic obedience. This was helpful, but Rookie was often times taken away from the pack because they had too many dogs to work with mine. During this time I also struggled having people in my home because Rookie wasn't comfortable with this. By this point, Rookie was 80lbs. He is a Shepard/pit mix and can be very intimidating when he is barking. Due to some issues at the vet, I ended up switching vets. When I requested Rookie's records, it appears there was an incident at the vet that triggered his fear and nervousness. After reading his vet report, along with all the negative reinforcement I had received from several trainers, I was afraid of what my dog would do. I was not afraid at home, when it was just us, but definitely did not want to bring him around people. I was not willing to give up on Rookie. If I had surrendered him, he would have been put down. I resided myself to the fact that for the next decade, I would be tied to my house with my sweet, scary looking dog. After a few months, I really needed a vacation. This is when I started to research trainers and boarding that work specifically with more challenging breeds. Dog Over Breed came up in my research. Based on the reviews, I decided to give them a call. Mo answered my call. He asked me what I was looking for. Instead of answering his question, I started to explain Rookie's story and he immediately stopped me. He asked if he could meet Rookie and form his own opinion. He said he did not want to know anyone else's opinion before he met Rookie. We made an appointment to meet up. We met in the parking lot of his place. When I got there, Rookie was going ballistic. There were all kinds of people walking by and Rookie was not comfortable. Mo stood back and just ignored Rookie. We chatted a bit as Mo stepped closer and closer to me. Rookie was calm as Mo never acknowledged him. Mo put his hand out for the leash and I freaked out a little, but I handed over the leash. Mo walked away with Rookie. He gave Rookie all the basic commands and Rookie listened. At this point Vic arrived. Rookie was a little bothered at first but quickly calmed down. Mo and Vic both said Rookie was a good, well-trained dog. They said he was not vicious, but he was nervous. They said my fear was a large part of the problem. I completely agreed with them. It was then that my training and Rookie's socialization began. We have been going to Dog over Breed for about 10 months. We do daycare and overnight boarding. In that time, Rookie has become more comfortable around other dogs and people. We can now have company over and I have been to Hawaii twice. Mo and Vic have taught me so much. The most important lesson they have taught me is that Rookie will never be a mellow, easygoing dog. He is who he is and that is okay. It is okay to not bring him around everyone that comes into my house. It is okay if he is uncomfortable to put him in his crate. It is okay to trust myself with Rookie. My husband and I will be retiring in a few years and decided it was time to adopt a pup. We fell in love with a sweet 4 mos. old rescue that turned into the Tasmanian Devil when we brought him home. Roy was aggressive toward us resulting in a few bites and leaving me afraid of him. We had a trainer come in that yelled at the dog, yelled at me, and stressed us all out. Mohit and his team do an exceptional job running a professional program that tailors to individual customer needs. We utilized the dog boarding and training services. Just after a few sessions we could see noticeable results with our fur daughter Jada. Mohit also gives us tailored homework to practice at home and provides great training watchpoints to be mindful of. One specific example we worked on was "trust vs. respect". We learned that our fur daughter trusted us, but didn't necessarily respect us and could be stubborn at times. We worked through a series of permission drills where we would have to grant Jada permission before performing certain tasks (i.e. before she eats, leaves the house, enters the house, etc.). Initially it was a lot more effort remembering and granting permission before allowing Jada to perform the actions. But as time went on she needed less and less direction and now out of respect she now naturally abides to the commands. Sometimes without us even saying anything. Let's see where to start? Well, Mo and Vic are absolutely fantastic. We have a rescue Brown Nose Staffordshire Terrier who we rescued and were having some walking, listening, and over-excitement issues that we could not correct after 2 years. We had them come out for their evaluation and they spent about 1.5-2 hours with us and actually started giving us lessons right from the get-go on how to improve copper's behavior. The evaluation alone was worth every penny with all of our questions being answered and never feeling rushed or made felt like they had somewhere else to be. They were very attentive and made sure every single one of our questions was answered. We decided to go with the group walks 3 times a week so they could work on his overexcitement and walking issues. These typically last anywhere from 1-2 hours and take place in neighborhoods, county parks, and various locations. These are extremely well priced and soooooo worth it. After each walk, they always spend time with us and do some 1 on 1 training and giving us tips and pointers on how to improve various issues we are having copper. They truly love dogs as they work with many dogs from the local shelters and rescues that have been deemed "dangerous" and they truly stick to their name of Dog Over Breed as they show no discrimination to any dog and will take on any challenge they are presented with. We absolutely recommend them for any minor or major behavior issues with any dog. Dog Over Breed helped us immensely when we were moving to the area and we just couldn't manage unpacking and keeping our two puppers (both under a year old) occupied and build their routine. We were able to board them for a few days while we sorted the house out. Once that completed, we had our puppers join the twice a week group walks. One of our two pups needed a lot of work since he had abandonment issues and separation anxiety from before we got him. I thought very highly of Dog Over Breed until a recent incident where they showed very poor judgment which almost killed our dog. Our dog (which is small, only 12lb) was attacked and severely injured by a Husky while in the care of Dog Over Breed for grooming. This Husky had a history of attacking smaller dogs but they still allowed it to play with our dog. Instead of taking our dog to a vet, they returned our dog to us in a total state of shock and with open wounds on her behind and abdomen, illegally gave us some prescription medication and told us we didn't need to take her to a vet. We ended up taking her to the emergency vet 2 days later anyway and found out the wounds were infected. The vet bill was over $900. read more

This a very LONG overdue post, but I came back to review Dog Over Breed about a year (or even longer!) after using their services and to reiterate all the other great posts about Mohit and Vic! I first contacted Mohit when my family and I were looking for a place to board our Belgian Malinois while we were on vacation. Our dog is a highly energetic rescue and unfortunately was turned away from another well known larger commercial boarding facility due to being over excited and aggressive with other dogs. Mohit assured us that with his experience with other similar personalities, he'd be able to help control our dog. Initially we were disappointed at being turned away from the other facility, but it turns out it was a blessing in disguise! We are so glad we ended up with Dog Over Breed. Mohit is truly a dog whisperer! During our dog's boarding, Mohit posted regular updates on our dog while we were away and even showed great videos of him walking our dog and even training him to be calm and to listen on a leash (and our dog is VERY easily distracted!). On our return, he even showed us tips to help better control our dog on walks. We were so impressed that we decided to follow up with him for several months on socialization with pack walks. We have another rescue dog, a German Shepherd, that we were reluctant to have participate in the pack socialization because of an unfortunate behavior incident in the past, however, Mohit once again reassured us that he has worked with many different types of dogs with behavioral issues and he would be able to work with our other dog. Both our rescue dogs have come back much more confident with much less pulling from working with Mo and Vic! They are very easy to communicate with, post regular updates on their work with your dogs, and are very understanding and accommodating. So I have a Cane Corso and while talking with a mutual friend I found out about Mohit. She told me how wonderful he had been with her dogs and gave me his info. I contacted him immediately because I was having some problems with my 6 month old 90lb dog. He was pulling on the leash while walking and zig-zagging all over the place, basically not doing what I wanted. He came over and was really knowledgeable about dogs and I could tell he really loves what he does. Within one 1 hr session he had me more comfortable and my dog walking in a straight line. After several sessions we have made great progress and I feel like I'm able to control my dog better but also feel more comfortable with such a huge dog. Other than a few family members, they are the first people who have taken our guy (without us there) where we have felt comfortable they will watch and treat him as if he was one of their own. Both are extremely kind and patient and are willing to work with you to make sure your pup is well-trained. We have been working with them for almost two months and we have seen huge improvements with our rambunctious guy. They offer pickup and drop off services, which is extremely convenient during the week and will often spend extra time with us on training tips and advice. My boy Skilo is a boxer mix with lots of energy. Mo & Vic know exactly what to do to get him to behave and take instructions. They take him on long walks with at least 5 small and large dogs. They offer grooming and boarding too. If he sees them drive up I have to get out of his way so he doesn't run me over. It's as if he's going to doggy Disneyland. read more
