This is a great little pet store that reminds me a little of Peace Dog in Cherry Creek, but with more of an edge. They carry beautiful accessories for mostly small and medium sized dogs, but can special order things for big beasts, like Miss Millie, my Berner. The staff was super friendly, as they should be getting to be around adorable dogs all day. This is a great spot for everyday needs or something special for a gift. I have two doggles that I bring to this place. One is a blue heeler with a ridiculous undercoat and the other is my ever shedding border collie. The main groomer guy (I can"t remember his name but he is very tall, dark hair and handsome) does a fantastic job with both of them every time. Don't forget to ask about their Furminator treatment which will give your vacuum and swiffers a much needed rest. The only reason I don't rate them a 5 here is because I wish they did cuts too. My BC could use a little bit of a trim up and I am terrible at cutting his hair; yes I have tried. read more

Definitely a great place to drop in for hard to find gifts for dogs and dog lovers. I was impressed by the selection of cool trinkets, including items for those rare breeds. The shop is cute and well organized and the staff was friendly and helpful. They also offer an array of grooming services, like "pawdicures" and teeth brushing. I have a Newfoundland mix and I could not believe how much skinnier my pup looked after her bath with rob. She looked and smelled amazing!! Dog Savvy is wonderful! I was visiting a friend in Denver and stumbled across this store and absolutely fell in love with the clothing, accessories, and staff. The owner was very nice and directed me to a few of his new items. I immediately saw a jean jacket and knew it would look great on my Chewy. I was almost positive the jacket would fit but was still hesitant on buying the jacket. It was the first and only jean jacket I have found for my dog. I am so glad that I bought it. The owner knew I was hesitant and offered to ship me a bigger size if it did not fit. I was happily surprised with his offer since my dog and I live in California and Dog Savvy is in Colorado. Needless to say I bought the jean jacket and it fit Chewy perfectly. I also bought a Bronco jersey too. Chewy has lots of football and baseball jerseys and this one will be added to his collection. The groomers are the very best and the turn around time is around 90 mins to 2 hrs for my standard poople, which is great. I have gone to groomers that keep my dog all day because they have a shop full of dogs and my dogs are older and hate being there all day. I really like that I can get an appointment scheduled easily and the ladies at the front desk are super nice. I see Eryn and sometimes other groomers, but really love how compassionate and sweet they are with my dogs. read more

I really like this place, the owner and all the employees are super nice and helpful. They have some unique items that awesome, great selection of harnesses and dog purses/bags. Also great all natural products, this place is a Boutique so it will see kinda pricey, but it is about average for the area. Reason being, Lola (my sweet dalmation) loves going in and meeting with other doggies, and the wholesome treats they sell really make a difference in her energy levels and digestive health. I took my little golden retriever pup over to Dog Savvy last week for a grooming. I was apprehensive as it was her first professional groom, not just me doing it at home. The gentleman behind the counter suggested that we do a de-shedding for her and a bath. The de-shedding was genius and really prevented much hair around the house for a couple weeks - so even that was worth the money. What a fantastic store! I could have spent my entire paycheck and still walked out smiling. Besides carrying a lot of supplies I never even knew existed, they do a great job grooming. My dog Piper is a Golden with a very thick coat and HATES baths. This is one of the only places I have been able to get her groomed and she's not panting and freaking out when I arrive. Friendly staff. We are from out of town and had our dog who was in need if a bath. Although they are booked three weeks out, Rob was very accommodating and offered us an appointment for the next day. Dog couldn't wait that long so we tried the diy dog bath. There's a reason pet owners pay to have there dogs groomed. It's a great idea- the self service dog wash- but we all know it's never fun to bathe a dog. It was nice to have a tub and shampoos, conditioners, vacuum, towels and aprons to work with vs our hotel room. $20 got us just that. And qt with our dog. When the first pair of booties we purchased didn't stay on her, I went back and the girls who worked here sat on the floor with me teaching me how to put on a more snug option! I found this place a few weeks ago and loved the atmosphere and customer service so I decided I would schedule my pup for a grooming session. I really really wanted to like this place, but I was extremely disappointed in the "grooming" session for my puppy. I took my 4 month old frenchie in to be groomed, and was surprised that the estimated wait would be "1-2 hours" which was not mentioned to me over the phone when I called. When I picked up my puppy the lady who groomed him said his nails were going to be very sharp because she trimmed them. His nails were so sharp that I could not pick him up because they were cutting my skin. They said that they could not use the dremmel that they typically use because the noise scared my puppy and didn't want to traumatized him-- for that I am thankful. However, they also said a lot of puppies are afraid of the dremmel, so I was confused as to why they didn't have an alternative method for trimming nails for puppies. Finally, my puppies ears were still very dirty after his "grooming" (I don't think they even touched his ears). Like I said, I really really wanted to love this place but to pay 32 dollars for this, when I have paid 12 dollars at petsmart for excellent grooming services for my puppy, I will not be returning to Dog Savvy. read more

I use to bring my Pom- Leo here all the time. They were awesome at grooming him. It made me more comfortable knowing they groomed a lot of poms and the owner is a Pom owner too! They always had friendly staff and a good selection of treats and toys. However the past 2 times I've been in, I've either been ignored or disappointed in the customer service. I figured the employee was either busy or just having an off day. (It happens to everyone) after calling to schedule another groom for Leo, I was rudely spoken to by Emily and then hung up on. read more

I visited this adorable doggie botique on Larimer Street when I was visiting Denver for work. I purchased several items, including 3 dog toys. Now I have bought dog toys everywhere... from the dollar store to places like Dog Savvy where they can be $30 each.... and in general you get what you pay for, as the expensive ones tend to be heavier duty as they are better quality and last longer. In addition to that I have an Irish Terrier and he requires toys that make him "think / problem solve" as he has tons of physical and mental energy. Anyhow, 2 of the 3 toys were disappointing, and they did an amazing job of addressing the issue by allowing my choice of credit card or store credit, or replacement of the toys. I no longer had the receipt or packaging... but it didn't matter! Thanks again, I know where I will go each time I am in Dever to buy my little man Riley a present! read more

Adorable store with super friendly staff. They have a great selection of natural foods, doggie clothing and accessories, and toys. If you need anything downtown for your pup this is definitely the place to get it (helps that it is the only place, ha). Be warned it does run pricey. Went in to get a doggy cake mix and one bully stick and it came out to about $20. Noticed one of the toys I was checking out for my American Bulldog ran $21 when my boyfriend's mother gets us a pack of three of the exact same toy for about that price. I was there a few days ago for a do it yourself wash. I did not like it. It was uncomfortable, I was uncomfortable and my dog was too... the shampoo bottles had dog hair all over them which means they don't clean them, and the shampoo was not filled up and only shampooed my dog with almost nothing, on top if the shampoo did not smell like what the label said it would and it felt as if I was not washing my dog at all. there's no apron so I got super wet head to toe. In the end, my dog smelled like hair dryer, nothing like shampoo. I would not come back. I give them 2 starts bc the girls were nice, other than that the whole do it yourself is a one star. I was very uncomfortable washing my dog and was not a pleasant experience. My poor dog could not wait to get out... More effort needs to be put for the whole do it youself set up. read more

He's very hard to work with, he always sounds like he's being tortured, but Alliya is able to keep him very calm and he gets excited when we mention her name. I brought my 9 year old rhodesian ridgeback Nala, in for a bath and nail trim. She doesn't love water but it has been too cold for me to give her a bath outside being winter so I thought I'd try out a groomer since it had been months from her last bath. She came out beautifully clean and nice smelling and even surprisingly happy to have had a bath! Kendra was awesome and able to get her long black nails shorter than anywhere else I have taken her.
