Always a joy coming to Doggie Dos!! Wendy is always so sweet, supportive and accommodating. Today we wanted to be adventurous with our fur baby's coat by getting a shorter cut. This was to my husband's request so he can see what muscles our Maxie is working with underneath his fluff. I appreciate Wendy taking care of Max and doing such an exceptional job each time. She's so modest and will say she's doing her best, but the quality of her work goes beyond these five stars. She's truly passionate and dedicated to making it a great experience for you and your fur baby. She will also go above and beyond to make sure Max looks nice and fresh for pick up even after he makes several attempts to play with everyone in their kennel free environment. Thank you so much for making us feel like family we look forward to returning soon!

I am giving Doggie Do's a four star for their daycare experience. My puppy came home, very tired and truly seemed like she enjoyed the experience. But they lose a star for the grooming, her nails were not clipped as short as they could have. Her ears are still kind of dirty, but she does feel very soft. I appreciate the effort however I would rather go to my local Petsmart where they do a better job. Environment: Grooming takes place above the daycare area, while other dogs roam freely underneath the tables during haircuts or brushing, which felt a bit chaotic and unsafe. However, it's local business and space is money and at least they're using their space to the fullest extent. They also have a slight side hallway that you can see from the outside windows where there are cubicles and beds for the some dogs to go. All in all great staff, great daycare, but we will not be coming back here for Grooming.

I took my 1 year old poodle mix here for the first time & thanks to Britney Prada came out looking cleaned up & so cute! We got the full bath & groom puppy package which came with a cute Polaroid photo to take home for memories I am so proud of Prada. Britney was an incredible groomer whom took care of Prada with her anxiety, sensitivities to new environments! First time bring my pup here. Made my appointment over the phone fast and easy! Was able to get her seen the next day. I came in that next morning bright and early and was greeted well by all the staff there. They were all lovely and Brittany did a great job! I love that all the dogs just roam around hanging out no stress. Drop off and pick up was super fast and easy they even put a Halloween bandana on her! Will definitely be bringing her back regularly. read more

I brought my 16 year old kitty (Ragdoll) in for a Lions cut yesterday. She had some nasty matted areas on her fur. They did such a fantastic job- mats are gone, she's so soft and smells great! I know my kitty feels so much better. I recommend the doggie dos on La Mesa Blvd for cats. read more

I take my long haired dachshund here and they are beyond the most reasonable priced place in all of San Diego. Bath + mild grooming + nail trim + gland expression + light sanitary trim for under $40 plus you can pick your dog up anytime before they close which is nice. They always get me in within a few days notice and the pricing and friendly service keeps me coming back. read more

I've been taking my goldendoodle to this groomer for the past year and ever since they lost their two main goldendoodle groomers, their hair cut quality has drastically fallen. I'm appalled how uneven and misproportioned my dog looks right now. To save you guys the time and money, I'd recommend finding a different groomer or better off doing it yourself. We were taking both of our large Bernedoodles to Doggies Dos for some time but have had a couple of incidences. My largest dog was cut in 3 places once time so we asked that a different groomer handle him. then on 2 differents occasions he came back with red raw spots on his tummy. We spoke to the groomer whos aid she did not see anyythingon him when he left. I don't know what these spots were but we took our dog to the vet and he had to get an antibiotic and have medicine put on these spots for awhile. it took a couple of weeks to heal these. We are now looking for another groomer as this has never happened to our dog before so it must be the groomer. read more

Mondays most places are closed, being the only place open I found Doggie Dos. They got me in quickly & we're very sweet to my baby. She's a bigger pitty but she gets nervous around other big dogs. My dog has a broken leg and no other groomers could accommodate for him, BUT they could! I felt so bad because my dog has been so matted and has not been able to get a groom since he broke his leg about 2 months ago. I told the groomer to just cut his hair however way needed and to just help make him to feel good. They literally called me about an hour and 30 minutes later to pick up my baby -- SO QUICK. Adopted a pup yesterday who desperately needed a groom - matted, dirty, and had a few scabs. Took him here and they did such an incredible job. He looks like a new pup, and seems happier (though I may be assuming that). The ladies that work here were so sweet and I will definitely be coming back! Also saw many other dogs (since this is a kennel free facility) and all of them had adorable haircuts. Highly recommend. read more

Brought our golden doodle, Bronx, in for the first time today and he seemed to love his visit! We are very happy with the haircut itself and he seemed to be much less anxious than he used to be at pickup from the previous groomers we took him to. I love that they let the dogs socialize and roam instead of locking them up in cages like most places. Lacy did a great job with Bronx and was super friendly and communicative, so we will be coming back for sure :) read more

They did a great job with my Luna. Her nails had gotten too long. I tried trimming them myself, but she wouldn't let me. She also sheds a lot, and they gave her a good brush out which has helped. I would definitely recommend this Doggie Dos if your dog likes a kennel free facility. To me, that is an extra plus because being put in a kennel stresses her out. Here she can mingle with other dogs if she wants or simply take a nap or look out the window. There are toys there for the dogs as well.

Please see the photos of the result; before the service we discussed a photo of a Westie face, half of the length off the body, and shorter hair on the legs. She took it upon herself without ANY discussion with me and CUT my baby's hair SO SHORT , I COULD NOT recognize her. She no longer has the signature westie face, has random wisps of hair on her face that were left long, and blade marks thru her body instead of a steady taper from her body to her legs. When I brought up how I distraught, upset and disappointed I was by her taking it upon herself to cut my dog's hair so short, how amateur the job looked and how unrcognizable my baby girl is, she barely apologized, said that HAIR GROWS BACK, did not sound remorseful and argued with me about MATTS in her fur when it is known by myself and my friend who both combed her frequently before the service that were NO matts or matted fur present. Take a look at the photos and decide if this is something you want for your precious pet. I paid $90 with tip and was NOT offered a refund or any compensation.

The woman who has always groomed my dog is polite, skilled, and has given my adorable Yorkie the perfect teddy bear cut every time. This time, her son clearly did the grooming instead. He left a noticeable mustache on her face (which has never happened before) and was smirking at me when I picked her up. The regular groomer could tell the cut was poorly done, but she did nothing to fix it. Despite the disappointing result, I still left a tip, as I always do. It's really sad to see this business showing such poor judgment in hiring. I'm taking his advice and will be taking my dog somewhere else from now on.

We can't even get him close to the bathroom without being suspicious! What the Star dogs team has going on has is something special and anyone we have recommended to since has the same experience. Expect a 2-3hr time frame once you have dropped off your pup, which does help plan out the day, they give you a call when he is ready and is never pushy/try to rush you to come pick them up. Love working with Star Dogs.

A Routine Procedure Resulted in Severe Burns, Repeated Misdiagnoses, and a Lack of Transparency…read more I am sharing our family's experience to provide a factual account of the events that followed our dog Ipo's dental cleaning at University Pet Hospital on May 15, 2026. My goal is to inform other pet owners of what can happen, even during a "routine" procedure. The Facts: Ipo, our 8-year-old dog, went in for a standard dental cleaning. The following morning, on May 16, she was in severe pain with a swollen, hyperemic abdomen. We returned to University Pet Hospital for an emergency recheck and were told her condition was a "seroma" and "inflammation" from her positioning. We were prescribed pain medication at our expense and sent home. By May 22, after the medication course was finished, Ipo's condition had worsened. We returned for another exam with Dr. Munoz, where the clinic again attributed her worsening symptoms to "irritation." They failed to diagnose the burn, and we were advised to purchase an additional medicated spray. Her condition continued to deteriorate. On May 27, after her skin began developing open wounds, we sought a second opinion. Pet Urgent Care immediately diagnosed her with thermal burns. We returned to University Pet Hospital the same day, where the clinic's own notes finally state: "...the dark red-purple-blue lining around the area may suggest thermal burn as the potential cause." The burns ultimately became severely infected, requiring emergency hospitalization, surgical debridement, and nearly a dozen trips to an animal ER. Our out-of-pocket costs have now exceeded $6,600. The Communication: In my opinion, the most concerning part of this experience was the lack of transparency from the clinic's management. Admission of Fault: In a handwritten note from May 30, the clinic manager documented advising me that "staff was making changes of use of heating pad" and that their "intentions were not to burn pet." This confirmed our belief that a heating device was the cause. Failure to Provide Records: We made multiple formal requests for Ipo's complete anesthesia and monitoring records, as is our right under California law. To date, those specific records have not been provided to us. Refusal to Engage: We sent multiple emails requesting the clinic's insurance information and a path to resolving our expenses. These requests were ignored, forcing us to file a formal complaint with the California Veterinary Medical Board and their insurance carrier. Our Opinion: We feel that had Ipo's burn been correctly identified on May 16 instead of being repeatedly misdiagnosed as "inflammation" and "irritation," she would have been spared days of excruciating pain and the development of a severe infection. We were disappointed by the clinic's failure to provide complete records and their unwillingness to engage in a good-faith resolution. We trusted this facility with a beloved family member. I hope our story encourages other pet owners to be vigilant and to ask detailed questions about the specific equipment and monitoring protocols used during any anesthetic procedure.

They squeezed us in last minute on New Year's Eve, which I know had to be a hectic day for them, but they still treated us like we were their top priority. Rex got the full treatment--teeth cleaning, a bath, and nail trimming--and he came out looking and feeling amazing! His coat is so soft and shiny, his nails are perfect, and his breath is fresh for once! The team was so kind and gentle with Rex, which put both of us at ease. I've been bringing my dog, Kipu, here for years. Wendy has taken exceptional care of him on every visit. Kipu loves the treatment he receives from Wendy, as well as all the workers. It's so easy to schedule an appointment, drop-off and pick-up. They keep a very clean environment among the numerous, happy dogs enjoying each others company. I also like having his teeth cleaned on each visit. Doggie Dos accommodates clients well in that they don't rush their work or their attempt to vacate the dogs out when work is completed. I took my Bichon Frise to Doggie Dos for the first time because the groomer I had been using couldn't "fit" my puppy into his busy schedule. I called on a Thursday and had an appointment for the following Monday morning. I love that the dogs are allowed to free roam and play with each other as my puppy is very social. I can't wait to take him back. They did such a great job on his groom, and I will be going back every 2 weeks to keep him maintained and handsome. Yvette was his groomer and I highly recommend her! For all pet owners......if you want you're dog or cat gets the best spa day...Doggie Due is the place! My dog has been going there since he was a young. Consider getting their teeth brushed there too. It very inexpensive and it makes such a difference with they tooth health, dental issues which can be very expensive and it gives them fresh breath. The staff is so great! You can tell they are animals lovers. My dog comes home cut, clean and I can see his face again and he can see so much better with all the hair out of his face. I have been bringing my shih tzu, Ella, to Doggie-Do's on Baltimore in La Mesa since 2017. My dog has aged a lot in the last nine years and still the staff continue to accommodate her with grace and gentleness. She looks great every time I pick her up. Elisa does a wonderful job. My dog had surgery on her eye and gets a lot of issues so Elisa is careful to groom her closely to keep the hair from her eyes as long as possible. My friend Doug told me about Terri's place. All these doggos hanging out harmoniously without a care. I envisioned some Great Dane crushing my poor little Roscoe (ChihuaHua) and was a little hesitant. ANYWAY. Went there one day with Roscoe to make an Appt. Was asked if "now was OK". My dog Marlow had a lot of anxiety and didn't do well with other groomers when crated before or after grooming.
