When we first started at Doggone Fun Doggy Daycare, it seemed like an ideal environment for our dog to socialize and burn off energy. Our dog had been attending weekly--sometimes twice a week--for almost a year, 45 times in total. Each time we picked him up, we made it a point to ask, "How did he do today?" and every single time, we received positive feedback that "he did great." Based on these 45 visits, we thought everything was going well and that the daycare staff was happy with his behavior. We'd even invested in training sessions (both private and group) through them. Then, a month ago, the owner (whom we hadn't met before) was the one to retrieve him. We saw through the window as she aggressively put on his collar and yanked him out. We were taken aback, but after learning that other former clients had left due to her and issues similar to this, we didn't bother to complain. We hoped it was a one-off incident. Unfortunately, things got worse. Last week, we dropped him off for his usual visit and received a call just two hours later from--you guessed it--the owner, informing us that our dog was permanently banned for being "too hyper" and "endangering other dogs with his running." This was not only a shock but incredibly frustrating. He wasn't aggressive or harmful to any other dog; he was simply being a dog. For an establishment marketed as a daycare, you'd expect some understanding of typical canine energy. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body, as their own trainer has stated on more than one occasion. When we pressed for details, we were told this was the "final strike" and that our dog "doesn't listen." This accusation was both unfair and absurd, especially since we were never informed, not even once, that his behavior was supposedly an issue. Let's not forget we invested heavily in training with their staff. If his behavior truly was a problem, then the training was a complete waste. On more than one occasion, we had watched through the window after dropping him off, and the daycare often looked chaotic, with dogs running all over and a single worker standing there, blowing a whistle and tossing treats without any structure. Looking back, it also explains why our dog would vomit almost every day after his visits, on top of the smell of urine and rubber that lingered on him after each stay. He even contracted Giardia twice, which should have been a red flag for us to stop going much sooner. To add insult to injury, we still had one private training session left, but when we requested a refund for it, we were met with resistance and disbelief from the trainer, who claimed they "can't really refund one training lesson." The lack of professionalism, transparency, and basic respect for clients here is astounding. Save your time, money, and peace of mind, and steer clear of Doggone Fun Doggy Daycare. read more

Hands down the best place to take your dog for doggy daycare! Unlike Safe and Hound in Wilsonville, and Reynolds Dog Resort that both cage the dogs all day during 'daycare', Doggone Fun lets the dogs play ALL day except for a lunchtime relax time for dogs once a day. They are clean, organized, always have 2+ persons on staff, and the owner is a dog trainer and behavioralist. She knows exactly how to train staff and keep the dogs safe and happy! Also they use chemical free cleaner for clean ups so it's not toxic to the dogs if on their paws and lick. I know about 10 other people who are just as obsessed with their fur babies as I am, and none of us have had issues. Highly recommend. read more

My dog has been going there at least 6 months, since she was 11 weeks old, and she loves it! I am so impressed with the staff and owner. They truly love these dogs and it shows when I drop off my dog. She cannot wait to get inside to play. I even see other dogs being dropped off and they have that same energy. Our dog LOVES coming to doggone fun! He comes home exhausted every day he goes because there is so much space and so many other dogs for him to meet. The staff engages him and he plays non-stop while he is there. All the staff are great and supportive, working with him and making sure he is learning to socialize and behave. They are genuinely happy to see him when I drop him off, know him and give me feedback on his personality and day. Everyone is friendly and put the dogs first. Regularly we pick him up at the end of the day and they are laughing with him and have something to share about what he's done. It feels like they know and love my dog as much as I do! An added bonus, grooming at the site, so you drop off for daycare and come home with a clean dog-no running and extra drop off required! Our dog just got groomed for the first time for summer and Alejandro was AMAZING! Better than any cut we've done, and we have tried several places. This was the first time we have not had to touch up ourselves, take him back, or redo. I can't say enough good things! The staff here is amazing, and clearly love what they do. Our giant puppy has thrived in their daily care and always comes home relaxed and happy. The owner is very responsive and has surrounded herself with a stellar group of employees. I have no idea how they keep everything so organized and on track, but this is a well oiled machine. And... don't forget about their light grooming services! Finally, their professionalism and customer care is top notch. When we had a special scheduling need, they were quick to respond to our inquiry and gladly worked with us to adjust our billing. My overall experience of this doggy daycare was positive until today. There was always something that felt a bit off but I figured it was because they were generally busy and didn't have a lot of time to form a connection/relationship with the pet parents. Nonetheless I would still ask everyday how my dog did. 99% of the time the response was positive feedback. A few times I was told "she wasn't herself today". When I questioned what that meant I was given vague responses. I assumed (my fault for assuming) that if there was a real issue then it would be addressed. I was later told my dog was back to her normal self. Until 2 days ago when the owner spoke to me about "questionable" behavior. Keep in mind her "questionable behavior" has been something she's done since day one and she's been part of this daycare for almost 1yr. So this is nothing new. I had a very lengthy conversation with the owner and thought that a plan and agreement had been made. Today 45 mins after dropping her off I was asked to pick her up and not return. Upon questioning the incident the owner broke down in tears and refused to finish the conversation. I still have questions regarding today's incident. I have also always pre-paid for daycare days. By paying in advance and purchasing multiple days at a time there is a small discount applied. So, 1 day is $28 but if you buy 10 days then you only pay $26 per day. Upon requesting a refund for the remaining days (2 out of 10 days were used) I was only refunded for 7 days. Yes, I was charged a full days rate for 45 mins. Then looking at the refund (handwritten on computer paper, no actual receipt) I was actually charged the full rate of $28 per day. So not only did I get ripped off a full days rate for her only being there for 45mins but I was charged an additional $2 per day.....$28/day when I paid $26/day. The money is not an issue, but the lack of honesty and taking money from customers that is not rightfully theirs is an issue, as is the lack of communication. If you take your dog there be very careful. Ask lots of questions. Lastly, seek advice regarding your dog and dogs behavior from a professional trainer. Someone who knows your dog and knows how to read behavior correctly. I firmly believe that my dogs behavior has been wrongly interpreted. I have had her re-evaluated by her trainer who's known her since she was 6months old. So I know that the information given to me was not entirely accurate. read more
