This is a LONG overdue review but I love Tina so much we call her "Tina Paw Spa" in my phone. Tina was so great with Coop and Posey. We were able to get on the waitlist and went in this past week. She had a great form that we filled out and also asked us about the answers and to make sure we were comfortable if there are other dogs around. She actually listened when I asked about a specific type of butt trim that apparently isn't standard and did great with it. When I came to pick them up she even mentioned how they seemed to want to be together the whole time so she put a blanket on the table for the non-grooming dog so they could feel more comfortable. "I wanted to give this place a 5.0-star rating, but unfortunately, due to some recent poor communication with Tina, the owner, I had to rate it as Good - 3.5/5. Although the grooming service is great and my dog always comes back looking adorable, Tina the owner's communication and organizational skills need improvement. The appointment confirmation system is inconsistent, which has led to some confusion. Sometimes the system sends out the confirmation via text, and other times Tina herself texts a message. If the appointment booking system could be streamlined, I would give this place a higher rating because one rather unfortunate incident did happen recently. This groomer was too expensive.. $140 for a 14 lb dog... this groomer was cheap but did a horrible job (tried her twice). But when we got a referral from a friend to try Pawz, it was just right! My old dog would actually cross the street to not walk in front of the old groomers.. not at Pawz! That is just how sanitary she keeps her business. Odie comes home after a visit with Tina having clean ears, shiny teeth and smells so good. We've been seeing Tina for a few years now and I've been meaning to write this review for a while. I can't say enough great things about her work and the conditions of pawz spa in general. The dogs always look happy while waiting to be picked up or cleaned, it's always clean and tidy in the shop, and Tina is always on time for my appointment. Doodles can be a little tough to cut correctly and still make them look good, often times groomers over-poodle the head or shave too tight. Tina finds the perfect balance to keep their natural fluff and get rid of all the mats. She works with extremely tough mats in the fur so shaving isn't necessary for which I'm super appreciative. Not only is Tina's place in a great, walkable area (lots to do whether it's Equinox, soul cycle, lunch or yoga) but she is so awesome responsive and easy to talk to. From booking the appointment to day of, Tina was such a pleasure to speak to and very easy to get in touch with. She texts too, which is so awesome and helps put your mind at ease. I had never groomed my puppy before so had no idea what to expect (and was laughing at how floofy she was) but she was so happy and chipper, and was clearly in great spirits. She looks super cute and now I know that I will pick up a fluffy teddy bear with all her pampering :) Also, really appreciated how she asked how Bailey is with other dogs as they mingle before and after the groom. I heard a lot of positive reviews about Pawz Spa and decided to bring my pup Balto for a partial grooming and bath with anal expressed, ear washed, teeth brush and fur desheding. Tina did an amazing job on Balto. It was only an hour wait and when I came and picked him up, he looked happy, clean and smelled amazing. The price was reasonable and I can tell Tina was very patient with Balto while she's giving him a bath since he's afraid of water. She's also very understanding when Balto had an accident on the floor and gave me towel and bag to clean up the mess. I will definitely bring Balto back for grooming again.
