I tried Dogs in Style for the first time yesterday. I will admit that Leo was overdue and matted some, it has been hard to get an appt anywhere. However, he is half lhasa apso half maltese, his coat is thick and no matter how much I brush and bathe and trim, he is always pretty ready for a grooming. I've had him for 3 years and I'm attaching before and afters from other groomers when Leo's been in pretty much the same state. (This time he was about 10 weeks since last grooming). I was pretty shocked when he was done. It was like they didn't even try, just shaved haphazardly. During 2020 I had to shave him myself and for $180 it's like that only...worse. There wasn't an attempt to trim his ears or face to make it even, no attempt at a blowout, he has a rat tail, etc. I normally wouldn't complain but for professional groomers to obviously not even try, it's frustrating. They will probably respond that I am a neglectful owner and that he was completely unmanageable but I've been to 2 other groomers over the years and haven't has a single complaint about his state or ever had a cut like this. He is fidgety and doesn't love to be groomed. He's a dog and somehow all the other groomers have managed. I think Brandon and I had similar experiences, so I'm here to echo his concerns. I usually go to FurPals in San Ramon, but like I said timing wasn't working out. I'll be calling them today to setup an appt for 8 weeks from now. ***I can't change the order of the photos or the default photo. Please make sure to read the captions to know which photo applies to which groomer*** Edit: just editing to add that they did not "do me a favor" or squeeze me in. I booked the apt online 2 weeks ago, selecting the open spot. Adding a photo of the request confirmation. I never called and begged for them to accept it. Unfortunately, my experience with Joe did not meet my expectations. Initially, I booked an appointment well in advance for my dog, anticipating a hassle-free grooming session right at my doorstep. However, the groomer had to last minute schedule, leading to an inconvenient day. Understanding that unforeseen circumstances can arise, I worked with Joe ti reschedule. After we agreed on a new time. Yet, to my dismay, the same issue occurred: the groomer did not show up, this time I didn't receive any communication about a delay or need to reschedule. I tried to call Joe and no one picked up. Be warned if you value your time. read more

This review could have been easily avoided but the actions and verbiage of the groomers led for me to share my experience so that other dog owners know who they are trusting their dogs to be with for a period of time. My two dogs have now seen Joe 3 times but Tyga the second groomer for the first time. In the photos Bruce is the dog who is the lighter color and the brownish dog is Baylee. Baylee has had to have shorter haircuts in the past due to how easily she mattes. Really wish she could not have been cut this short but I can live with that. My other Dog Bruce is the issue here. The groomers put blame on my dog for being too sensitive that they couldn't work on him and the easiest solution was for them to shave him. When I expressed my concern with the outcome, this was the reaction of the groomers. Joe: "I am concerned about your dog and why he is so sensitive. His eyes get so red because he is stressed and gets sensitive with me." Ultimately he blamed my dog for not getting the hair cut we asked for. Tyga: this groomer was rolling his eyes and really had an attitude. Not once did the groomers apologize or showed empathy. I also had to stop them from working on Bruce because I saw him cry when they were wiping his ears, due to his ears being irritated from how close they cut him. We paid for their services in full. $360 To respond to your response. I believe you are not seeing the bigger picture here. It is not your obligation to make decisions on behalf of someone's dog, they are not your children. In any business transaction there needs to be clear communication, we paid you for your service. We did not ask for Bruce to be shaven. Also due to your professional opinion, our dogs have been shivering and shaking throughout the day due to you shaving them down the skin. As great parents we are keeping them under blankets, clothed and by a space heater. your actions have led to the discomfort of our children. It is clear non of you have worked in a retail/customer service environment. read more

So worth it! A friend of ours recommended this groomer and he did not disappoint. I am 9 m pregnant and we were looking for a long term partnership with a groomer we could call regularly, and we've found it! The van is great and looks super neat. He was gentle with Arya (our 70 lbs German Shepherd mix) and by the time it was all over, she looked happy, clean, fluffy, and smelled great. Best part is we didn't have to leave the house! It's not cheap- so if you are looking to compare this to a regular groomer, or a self-pet wash, do not. I went back to Dogs In Style and they did such a great job again. The service is great and it's very convenient -- well worth paying a little more for the service and the attention my dog gets. No waiting around while my dog is in a kennel waiting for his turn. I also just had a baby so a mobile groomer saved me so much time and energy. In addition to the clean cut and trimmed nails, Tyga did a full on teeth cleaning for my pup -- and OMG I had no idea they were so white underneath. My dog's breath has been pretty bad and his teeth were yellow despite me brushing his teeth every night. Tyga got in there and removed the plaque and now his teeth are white and fresh breath! This was my first time using a mobile groomer and I understand that it costs more, but the additional cost was worthwhile for me for a few reasons. 1) I have two fearful dogs and the young man who came to my house was very kind and great with my dogs. 2) The one on one attention and not having to wait while other dogs were being washed and dried reduced their stress level, 3) the mobile unit was set up well and was immaculate! When you pay for a service of $360 you expect there to be some type of customer service. Dogs in styles mobile grooming will NOT offer you that. If you question why your two dogs were buzzed cut they will turn it around and state that it was because your dog was being too sensitive. Not only were they an hour late, but after we got our dogs back and we asked why they couldn't call us with the decision of buzz cutting them they continued to say that our dogs were just too sensitive. Make it make sense. We also did ask before hand a few times for a "teddy bear" cut and they both understood at the time that's what we wanted. Not once was there an apology given - the two men continued to just blame our dogs for being too sensitive... Tyga also just rolled his eyes and said he disagreed with everything. Dogs don't speak, we are their parents to communicate their needs. Humans are the ones that protect our babies and this business will not take any accountability to their actions. Please don't waste your hard earned money on these people - very unprofessional. read more

I have not used mobile grooming for my 13 year old Golden Retriever before. I have always taken him to a groomer where he was so scared he shook terribly. Today I tried this it s service and Tyga was so good and gentle with my dog that he nuzzled right up to Tyga. He handled him gently and carefully and Sam wasn't shaking or scared. This is our second time using Dogs In Style. Spur is a exuberant yellow lab. Joe came and bathed Spur the 1st time and didn't state there were any issues with bathing him. Yesterday Taiga came to dished and bath him and couldn't stop complaining about how badly behaving Spur was during his bath. Guess he tried jumping out of the tub. We paid $220 for deshedding & bath as well we gave a 20% tip(. Check was already made out). Was very unhappy about how much Taiga didn't like Spur. Guess we'll find another groomer. read more
