I needed grooming help in a pinch and Happy Bay Paws came in clutch, as I was able to book a same day appointment within a few hours and the groomer showed up even earlier. Paulo took care of my dog and he was very kind and gentle with her. He did a great job and I'm especially grateful that her nails are shorter, I am always nervous clipping them myself. I only docked one star (would only dock half if I could :)) because when I booked the appointment I selected "bath short hair dog medium" which was listed on their site as $95 but I was charged $140 for a full grooming upon picking her up. I was confused and called to clarify. They said because my dog is a shiba inu and they are double coated like huskies, they require deshedding and their secretary changed the service without letting me know. I understand the reasoning for changing the service, but I do wish it was disclosed ahead of time, especially because I tipped Paulo based on $95 and should have tipped more. All grooming businesses operate differently and not all charge differently based on breed so it's something to be mindful of if you're booking with them. They did offer a partial refund for the mistake or credit for the next booking so I appreciate that. If I could offer advice to the business owners, it would be helpful for the groomer to confim the grooming package and expected charge when dropping off your dog. I was honestly very iffy about using a mobile groomer for my 5-month-old Goldendoodle, but Happy Bay Paws completely exceeded my expectations! From the very beginning, booking and messaging with Kevin was so easy. He was incredibly responsive, answered all of my questions, and was able to fit us in super quickly. I thought we'd have to wait a few weeks for an appointment, but they were able to get us in the very next day! Kevin was also very thorough in explaining the grooming process. Since it was our baby girl's first groom, he wanted to gauge how she'd do first before jumping into a full grooming appointment. I really appreciated that he prioritized her comfort and had different options depending on whether she'd be nervous or anxious. That level of care, along with the exceptional communication, is what really solidified my decision to book with Happy Bay Paws. Our groomer, Bryan, even let us know he was running a little behind because he was finishing up with another client. Since they had squeezed us in so quickly after we first reached out, we had absolutely no issue with it. Communication is everything, and we really appreciated the update. Also, parking at my apartment complex is terrible, so I'm grateful they were able to find a spot nearby and still make everything work. When Bryan came to pick up our puppy, he asked what kind of look we wanted. As first-time doodle owners, we honestly weren't sure--we just wanted that adorable teddy bear doodle look. He absolutely nailed it! He took the time to make her look her absolute best, and we couldn't be happier with the results. We had heard so many horror stories about doodles ending up completely shaved because of matting, so we were definitely nervous(it takes an immense amount of peanut butter to get through her daily brushes).Bryan was patient, skilled, and gave us exactly what we were hoping for. One more thing that really stood out--our doodle has a tendency to hate humans , so we were honestly expecting her to be difficult. To our surprise, she was so calm and sweet when Bryan came to get her. Our baby Pua knew he was a good person! For her very first grooming experience, Bryan definitely set the bar incredibly high. 2nd Update: My now 1yo Australian Labradoodle (Wooffy) has been groomed by Happy Bay Paws 4-5 times now, and we've always been happy with the result! Wooffy was groomed by Thais today, and he loved her right away! She was so nice, did an excellent job and helped me understand where I could brush Wooffy better next time so his fur wouldn't knot (I was lazy with brushing his neck/chest area oops). Leading up to my pup's appointment, the communication was prompt, professional, and transparent. The website has several packages as well as à la carte options. Kevin, the groomer, arrived early and gave good suggestions for Emmy's first session--adjusting the final invoice accordingly. His primary concern was Emmy's comfort and safety--unlike other groomers in our area. He was clearly very experienced and knowledgeable. He finished the full service (face, belly, paw, sanitary trim, bath, dry, brush, nails, teeth, gland expression, ear cleaning) in under an hour despite taking time and care. My neighbors had just paid double for half the service Happy Bay Paws provided and immediately asked for a referral. I cannot recommend this groomer enough! read more

We've had two doodles for the last decade, and groomed them monthly (that's a lot of grooming). Over the years, we've used a few salons, tried 2-3 remote groomers, and even groomed our dogs ourselves (during COVID). We hate changing groomers (and have only done so when we moved, or recently, when a chain went out of business). Happy Bay Paws is, by a wide margin, the worst groomer we've used. The groomer didn't listen to our instructions (keep the hair long on top, cut the tail short) and did the opposite. They cut the body unevenly and snout hair unevenly. They had zero artistic sense, and got the face shape totally wrong. I have no idea how they have such positive reviews; I strongly suspect they're paying people to write fake reviews. That's how bad a job they did. On a positive note, they seemed nice and didn't physically hurt our dog... but that's about all I fan say in their favor. Just a terrible job. read more
