2nd Update: My now 1yo Australian Labradoodle (Wooffy) has been groomed by Happy Bay Paws 4-5 times now, and we've always been happy with the result! Wooffy was groomed by Thais today, and he loved her right away! She was so nice, did an excellent job and helped me understand where I could brush Wooffy better next time so his fur wouldn't knot (I was lazy with brushing his neck/chest area oops). We could watch Wooffy getting groomed by Thais from our front window and he was sooo happy and relaxed the whole time! You can't go wrong with Thais or Kevin :) read more

Update: Witnessing a business owner attack his customers with lies for simply bringing attention to a mishap in a grooming session is a terrible business practice. Your lies and exaggerative response is very unprofessional. However, it just validates why this post was made. If our dogs were so neglected wouldn't that mean your services were subpar considering we've been utilizing your service since 09/11/2024 (appointment scheduled for 09/12/2024 @1:45p. On 12/03/2025 @2:30p your groomer did not follow basic instruction and we offered a basic solution, we pay for all other service and you cover the fur trimming since that was the complaint. This wasn't the only time we had an issue but chose not to bring it up since it was minor as well. 12/04/2025 I called your company and was told you would get back to us. Instead we received a text asking to rate the service. You didn't respond until weeks later via phone call to tell us you would talk to your groomer and get back to us. Again, weeks went by without a response from you so I made this factual review. Again, interesting how you immediately called my wife's phone to offer money to take the review down. Now look at the way you approach your customers online for all to see. You fabricated lies, slandered us, accused us of animal neglect and insinuated we wanted a complete grooming of two dogs for free. I truly hope many whom are searching for a groomer take the time to read this review and your response. It now makes sense as to why you have such a high turnover with your grooming staff now that I see the way you treat a minor complaint from a repeat customer. In closing, it is advised that you not take to an online forum with lies and accusations of animal neglect because a customer complained and offered a more then fair remedy. We had a GREAT first experience with Happy Bay Paws today! After finding them online yesterday they almost immediately responded and said there was an appointment available the next day. Paulo drove up to our house right on time this morning in the bright orange Happy Bay Paws van. He was very kind and gentle with our dogs. Kevin, the groomer, arrived early and gave good suggestions for Emmy's first session--adjusting the final invoice accordingly. His primary concern was Emmy's comfort and safety--unlike other groomers in our area. He was clearly very experienced and knowledgeable. She took Boss for grooming first, and it was very nice; it smelled good. Then I brought GiGi out and had the same thing, but GiGi was always afraid of everything & couldn't stand still, but she did calm her down. She did a good job on Boss & GiGi with all my requests. Getting on the schedule was a little rough. Main concern was the means of communication. Once we connected with our phones instead of through the Thumbtack app everything went smooth. Our little guy is super anxious when it comes to getting his nails clipped. Big Box grooming has returned him without doing his nails stating he wouldn't let them. I have been using Happy Bay Paws for a couple of years and they are always extremely kind, attentive to my older dog's needs and professional. On the one occasion I had a concern about a small nick on my dog's paw I discussed it with Kevin and he was gracious, did not get defensive (as has happened with other groomers in the past) and assured me it would never happen again. And it hasn't. Milo always looks beautiful and while getting groomed has never been his favorite activity, he always comes home calm and content. My only disappointment was being notified that Kevin was moving to Manteca and would not be our groomer anymore. Taking my dog to get groomed at Petco was an utter fail, so I decided to try a mobile grooming service that wouldn't be sticking my baby in a cage for hours on end, thereby causing her to have even more anxiety. I've never used a mobile groomer before, and yes, they are pricier than dropping your dog off at a groomer, but it's convenient when you don't have time to do the drop-offs and pick-ups / are stuck in work meetings. The reason I went with Happy Bay Paws is that their package includes anal gland expression, and that's exactly what my mom's dog (Bella) needed.
