Super friendly staff, and clean facility. They are an honest company who will keep you informed of any kennel cough outbreak or behavioral issue. We love that they always know when our pups are coming in. Very timely and attentive. I feel like we can really trust them with our two dogs. My bigger dog is super timid and they were willing to assist to her needs and keep her in a place where she felt comfortable - now she's more social and makes friends every time she goes. I have always been very impressed with the staff at Dogtopia - they are all super friendly and clearly love dogs! They usually know most of the dogs by name when people bring them in as well. I have been taking my frenchie to Dogtopia for over 4 years. She loves going and seems disappointment when I pick her up (wants to stay). The owner or her husband are always on site every day. The place is very clean and they run a tight ship when it comes to making sure all the dogs are current with their vacinations. I recently rescued a lab and now she goes too and loves it as well. I have boarded my dog a few times and would not hesitate leaving her at Dogtopia. They have camera's which I can watch to see what they girls are up to, while I am at work. If 10 stars was an option, I would give them 10 stars!! read more

I thoroughly researched boarding options for my new, custom bred Miniature Golden Retriever "Brodie", who serves as companion animal for my fiancee', a person with ALS. I added Stephanie Ballard, owner of Dogtopia in Lakeway to our village of caregivers, because she has systems in place which assure excellence: 1) Live-feed, online video allows us to see Brodie on our phones, which is both enjoyable and reassuring. We can see for ourselves that he is being well cared for, and that he is having fun "at camp". 2) Brodie, being genetically bred & selected for petite size, has a resultant dietary intolerance. After months of investigation, our vet told us, "You have an otherwise normal, healthy pet; just be aware, his digestive system can only tolerate an exclusive, prescription diet, so you have a dog, that, much as a high-performance car, runs on Premium". When i discussed this issue with Stephanie, her reply was competent and reassuring: "Straying from dietary restrictions can lead to extreme health issues, not just diarrhea but also things like seizures or worse. It is because of this that we discontinued serving in-house food and require all customers to bring in their dog's current diet. We follow feeding instructions diligently regardless of dietary restriction because, even if a dog does not have a food allergy, they can react negatively to a quick change in diet. We only give what the customer brings in and nothing else." (This is the right answer.) 3) Stephanie required us to bring Brodie in for a pre-admission interview, during which her staff assessed his disposition & personality. She assured us that aggressive dogs would be declined admission, and that Brodie would be placed with other dogs of similar size, free of bullying. Having monitored the playrooms via streaming video, we see this has proven to be true. 4) "Campers" play in large, air conditioned communal playgrounds that are segregated by breed & size, with human attendants always present. They sleep in individual kennels for security, within view of their fellow campers. 5) We have been able to schedule an onsite grooming & bath just before bringing Brodie home, which lightens my load as primary care giver for a person with ALS. IMHO, Stephanie's business model appears to be aligned with, and driven by, altruistic principals other than mere profit, and she appears to be very good at what she does. I can't say it enough without sounding like a broken record...ok, I'll sound like a broken record because I sofa king love this place...Anyone looking for boarding and/or doggie day care...You MUST not take your furry human family member anywhere else. Dogtopia Lakeway is so flipping awesome. I swear with all my heart, they are all about your furry love. Every single time I drop off for day care, the entire team is excited to see our Ari Gold as if they've never met a more adorable dog. They love on him and I could not feel more grateful for each team member. Not only do they love your dog as if they were their own they give you care cards that are so detailed on who your dog plays with, his favorite thing to do. During the holidays they gave me a 5x7 photograph of Ari. They even celebrate your dog online with Video and in their weekly electronic mailer and it can't get any better with the ability to watch your furry family member play. Dogtopia was originally recommended to us by our vet when we asked where he would board his own dogs, one of only two places he named. Our two Australian labradoodles have grown up going there for grooming, first with Alex and then with Aimee. They always come out looking great and can't wait to get in to see the staff, a good indication that they are comfortable with the place. I have personally seen them turn away someone whose dogs weren't up to date on their shots (in that case, had not had them a week before, so they weren't yet working), which makes me more sure my own dogs aren't being exposed to something that could have been prevented with proper vaccinations. We have left the boys for daycare, half days and full, to get them used to the routine before boarding them, then left them for a several week stay. As someone else mentioned, the big dogs and small dogs are segregated and they have webcams going in the rooms so you can observe from wherever in the world you happen to be. It was reassuring to login and see our boys bouncing around with the other dogs, having a good time. One other thing I've been impressed with is how clean it is in there. It smells clean when you walk in, not like a kennel, not like disinfectant, just clean. If you observe the webcam, you do see the occasional dog making a puddle somewhere, but you also immediately see someone go mop the floor so well the other dogs don't even sniff the spot anymore. Not sure what they use, but I needed some of that while housebreaking 2 puppies! I hesitate to make them so popular I can't get Jules and Jett in there when I need to, but they've been uniformly great, or taken care of it immediately if we called their attention to something, and I don't think you can expect more from any business. read more

This place is the best! I absolutely loved the care that my puppy Roxy was shown during her stay at Dogtopia. This is our first puppy so as most dog owners can understand, she is like our baby! Needless to say, I was so nervous to leave her during our vacation. After our evaluation I already had a good feeling about Dogtopia, the facility was clean and they seemed to genuinely love dogs. They suggested her coming in for a couple hours for daycare before we kept her for boarding so she could associate Dogtopia as a happy place. Boy I was glad we did that! She came home from her first dog daycare day totally happy and tuckered out from all the good play time. The next week I dropped her off for boarding and though I was sad to say goodbye I knew she was in good hands. It was so comforting to be able to see her on their webcams while we were away. They also added a couple pictures of her on Instagram which totally made our day. When we picked her up she was a happy healthy pup just as before. After her stay we have noticed is that she has much better manners around other dogs now! This has helped her social skills like crazy! Over all we are so happy we found this gem and will be taking Roxy back this week for a daycare day filled with fun! Thanks Dogtopia! read more

We used Dogtopia to board our puppy during a 4 day trip. We loved being able to watch our little Pippa on the webcam while we were away. She's quite the terror, but was having a great time. Lots of attention with a friendly engaged staff. They were able to accommodate her specific mealtime requirements and made her feel at home. We took our GSD here for socialization starting at 4/5 months old for a day or two here and there. and under circumstances of our move, she stayed here for nearly 7 weeks at the age of 7 months. The staff took great care of her giving her lots of love and she loved making friends. The Staff is friendly, facility is clean & spacious, and we love the webcam to peek in on our furry baby to see how her day is going. Ziggy is now over a year old and still goes at least once a week to play with her favorite friends at Dogtopia. read more

This place is fantastic! My overly active Belgian Malinois puppy comes home from daycare and then spends the rest of the evening snoring! It's like a miracle! Their hours - 7 to 7 - are GREAT, the facility is clean, and the staff are super helpful and personable. Everyone is always smiling. We just boarded Karlee at Dogtopia while away on vacation. The staff gave her a great report card -- she ate good, played hard, slept like in her own crate at home, etc. As always she came home very tired from 4 straight days of daycare, a big change from her usual one day of daycare per week. We always feel good about leaving Karlee in their care. She's been attending daycare and boarding at Dogtopia since she was seven months old and she is always anxious to jump out of the car and hurry inside when we arrive and is reluctant to leave when picked up. We totally trust the staff at Dogtpia with our boxer daughter Karlee. We think the price we pay for daycare and boarding is very fair. We all love Dogtopia. My frienchies and I love Dogtopia! Stephanie and the entire crew treat us like family and take care of my little guys when I'm out of the country or on long trips.
