Nice small park. This is a great park if you have kids. The trails are shaded and very easy to walk. You can do a few laps around the park without any issues. It has a nice pond and picnic tables spread throughout the park.

A nice place to have nature walks and to just get some fresh air or even get a workout in. Now we've found that the Lake has recreational fishing where the max is 6 catfish a day. This place is sorta off in the cut, you will miss it if you are moving to fast up the road where the entrance is located off Wesley Chapel Road. There are a lot of picnic tables placed through and grills. The bird houses/ feeders are plentiful as well as the dog stops to put the poop and grab a bag to put the poop. The trails are nice and I like the fact that there is plenty of signage to have people to put a lease on their dogs. It seems like a dog park at times and it's not really a dog park solo. I honestly don't enjoy sharing the trail with dogs as some are really out of control and scare our toddler when passing as they are super aggressive. I would like f their were separate dog walking trails so people without dogs could enjoy the trails without the hassle of dogs that are aggressive or owners who can barely hold their dogs back from jumping on others. All in all very scenic and we enjoy it for small spurts.

Beautiful shrubbery at this place. I've always driven past this park but never really bothered to go through it... that changed today. I drove into a small parking lot that housed the opening of the park and My jaw dropped at how beautiful the park was. It was a very peaceful looking yet sensationally green atmosphere that I had to soak in. I went on a day where it wasn't crowded, though I'm not really sure if it's ever super crowded anyway. There are a few trails that you can go to, with one of them being a short unpaved bike trail. If I brought a bike I would have been disappointed because I was able to walk through it in less than 10 minutes. Notwithstanding the length (I hiked everything in less than half an hour), it was calming and a welcome scenery expedition. There's a dog park inside the forest as well as a dirt path close to the road. They did an excellent job maintaining this place... it's beautiful ;)

Nice small park to walk. It's about a mile in length. Has a small jungle gym for kids and a pretty water fountain.

Small but a nice park to go to. Has a playground, walking trails and a dock where you can fish.

Facilities include a full gym, pool, tennis courts, bacchi ball lanes, extensive walking trails, paddle tennis/pickle ball courts, horseshoe pits and even a ball field. Also a boat house and canoe & kayak club on the Catawba River. Just about everyone has a golf cart and you can get just about anywhere using them. Friendly is the theme. People wave at each other and are anxious to meet and introduce themselves whenever you meet. Monday nights are presentations as part of the life-long learning group. We have had podiatrists, bush pilots, authors, historians, financial planners and others give one-hour talks that are really interesting and kept within that one-hour limit. Lots of dances, plays, comedians and even an opera took place since we have been here. Biggest threat is to get too involved in too many activities. Not a bad threat. Well. getting ready to meet with the Old Stogies group tonight whose charter is to smoke cigars and solve the world's problems. Someone has to do it.

We have been living here for 6 years and have enjoyed every minute. Our priorities for a…read moreretirement community were that it be inland, near a major airport, close to a large city, and offer plenty of amenities. SCCL offers that and much more. There is a club, event or activity for almost anyone. For the less active person it is a very well kept aesthetically appealing neighborhood, close to shopping and many restaurants. After 13 years ( I think building began in 2006) major updating and renovating will soon begin on our Lakehouse. It will be a major disruption in our primary amenity center and , understandably, has caused some grumbling and disagreement throughout the community. My feeling is that if we are to retain our position as the premier 55+ community of the Carolinas, we need to accept the inconvenience and enjoy the outcome! No community is perfect, but if you're looking for a fun- filled active retirement with friendly neighbors and a lovely environment- you should check out Sun City Carolina Lakes!

Then it is just a short walk to the museum and a few monuments. I'm not sure if there is really any connection to Jackson himself aside from the name and monuments. But there are some artifacts which date from around his time. The history here, indeed the whole area, is a history lacking from the west coast. So, whether related to the 7th president or just his era, it is cool for a life long west coaster to visit and learn. Other highlights of this state park which I did not have an opportunity to check out are camp sites, a lake with canoe rentals and a 1 mile nature trail. Practically something for everyone.

Plenty of parking! We walked around the statues, the meeting house, and the schoolhouse. Kids enjoyed ringing the bell. There are picnic tables and a covered shelter with additional tables. There is a restroom that is depicted as a log cabin. So is the picnic shelter. Very Rustic looking. The kids enjoyed looking at everything, reading the markers and taking their own photos. It was very relaxing and I thoroughly enjoyed watching them take their own photos. I hope they always enjoy history! Kayla Beth Fields , the kids and I had a great little adventure.
