Chevre al Forno Dinner

I'm a Florida resident but when I come back to Illinois to visit family I frequent Zazas and it never disappoints. This night we tried some new dishes that were excellent. The warm bread they serve is outstanding. Drinks and service also spot on

Birthday celebration for a dear family friend!

I met friends at Zaza's for a birthday dinner. I LOVED it! It was a Saturday evening and was super busy. The parking lot was full so I parked down the street. Once inside, the rooms were packed, and the energy was high. The hostess was so warm and friendly as I checked in. She brought me to my group who were already seated. Our server was on point and took great care of us. The busser Rick was so helpful and friendly. The food was really very tasty. This was my first visit, and I was pleasantly surprised by the whole experience.

Food is great! But WARNING there are TWO appetizer menus and the actual good one is in fine print. Yet the service made up for it!

We brought a group of 8 here on a Friday night and the place was super busy!! I usually take that as a good sign the food is tasty. The place was beautifully decked out in Christmas decor. Not sure if it was because the holidays are creeping up, but would definitely make a reservation at peak hours. Our servers were super friendly and prompt. The crab cake appetizer was heavenly!! I also super highly recommend the chocolate soufflé for dessert. I was unimpressed with the pomegranate martini, but the salmon was pretty yummy luckily! Overall it was a good experience and I would definitely come back again.

This was one of the Italian places I've visited in the Western suburbs that I really liked. I have been here maybe 3-4 times and the food has always been satisfying and the service has been consistently efficient. I made last minute reservations through Open Table for dinner here just this past Saturday. The indoor dining room has already been opened with limited capacity. I honestly liked it much better this way because before the pandemic, the tables were too close to each other. There was not enough space to maneuver in between tables, at least going to and from the restroom. The servers were almost bumping into each other and they get too close to the diners' seats. I can easily hear the conversations from the tables beside mine. This time, the tables were spread out according to the indoor dining guidelines for reopening at phase 4 in IL. The tented outdoor dining space was also nice but it was too hot so we decided to dine inside. I've tried the following dishes: MUSSELS IN SPICY TOMATO SAUCE (app)-fantastic FETTUCCINI CON SALMON- delicious BRACIOLLE- outstanding SALSICCIA DIABLO- dynamite FETTUCCINE DI PAZZO- the chicken was a tad dry BAKED OYSTERS (app)- terrific GROUPER ASPARAGINI- delightful Overall, I haven't had any dish here that I did not like. I like coming here for delicious Italian food and I'm glad that they made it through the tough pandemic months. I also have nothing bad to say about their service and I was happy to see the staff busy and happy to be back at work. Stay strong and keep it up.

Goat cheese appetizer

OMG! When I tell you this food was amazing! We got the goat cheese app, the shrimp app and the oysters! That is in self was a full meal! My grandson had cheese ravioli with the sauce on the side and I decided to just get a salad bc is was so much food. Patrick, our server was more than attentive. Hands down 10/10 for me...Also, my daughter got a dirty martini...they have a heavy hand lol that drink was really good!

Visited Taurasi's for the first time and was pleasantly surprised by the food, drinks and ambience…read more We didn't know what to expect when they advertised their food as being from Southern Italy, but everything we had was delicious ... banana pepper appetizer, shrimp cocktail, gnocchi, and meat ravioli. We recommended this restaurant to our son and his wife, who incidentally live in Westmont but had never gone to this restaurant, and they too were very much impressed. Will definitely be back. The only negative is that the parking in the area was a little confusing.

We ventured out on a very frigid Saturday night for dinner. We dined at Taurasi, which we haven't…read moretried before. Sergio was warm and welcoming as he showed us to our table. We sat in the far back room, which felt like an overflow room. I wished we sat in the first dining room. (Note to self for next time ) We brought a couple bottles of wine from home. Corkage fee was $25 a bottle. I learned that this restaurant has a dual license so not only can you enjoy their large selection of wine while dining, but they sell their wine for 50% off of the wine list price to take home. Carol, our server, was personable and took good care of us. Our party of five shared two starters, the antipasto and the carpaccio. I was surprised that the carpaccio, although fresh and tasty, did not come with any grilled bread. I always order carpaccio at restaurants and it usually comes with crostini or grilled bread to put the thinly sliced beef on. I think that would be a nice addition to this starter. Taurasi makes homemade pasta so the five of us all had pasta dishes. My husband had Rigatoni Ragu Napoletano with an addition of a side of two meatballs. I had Ricotta Gnocchi alla Sorrentina. Both very good housemade pasta dishes. The side of meatballs were served with no sauce. I thought that was quite unusual. My husband and I split the meatballs so I asked our server to bring some sauce for the meatballs. The meatballs were full of flavor, soft and moist. It reminded me of my dad's meatballs. My friend who doesn't eat meat took a bite and asked for a second one. That says a lot about the taste of the meatballs. Sergio checked on us periodically to make sure we were enjoying our experience and then introduced us to the owner/chef Raffaele at the end of our meal. Raffaele is the one who curates the wine selection. He is a sommelier as well as the chef.. While talking to Raffaele, I asked about the pasta my husband and I learned to make on our trip to Tuscany last fall called pici, and he said he would make it for me even though it's not on the menu. Well, you know I'll be coming back to his restaurant again. Taurasi also hosts special wine events/ tastings and also has live music on occasion in the bar area. Outside of the minor glitches I had with where we were seated, the lack of grilled bread with the carpaccio and the sauceless meatballs, I would recommend this restaurant. The pasta is delicious and the service is good.

There is no way this gentleman did not communicate this properly. He understood the issue and although shy and differential communicated well. He came back telling me that someone would take care of me. I floated, standing up for a bit, then sitting down in an overt place for 15 min. A server came out to quickly wisk me away when they noticed that I was expecting to be served. This means two things. Great bar and table area. Drinks: Italian wine Luigi Righetti Valpolicella Ripasso and bread while I waited on my appetizer. Standard Peroni Italian beer. Dessert: apple crostata with vanilla gelato and drizzled caramel. This was good, fresh, and hot. Need a little more apples but delicious. Appetizer: I had Fritto Misto lightly breaded calamari, octopus, and shrimp in garlic. I liked this dish and substituted the cocktail sauce for marinara. I'm not into sweet dips. Entree: Bucatini Del lazio a pasta with lobster meat and jumbo shrimp in a brandy cream sauce. This was delicious and light. I can tell that the pasta was homemade. The tomato sauce was flavorful, and the shaved Parmesan and arugula complemented the dish beautifully. Unfortunately, the arancini themselves were disappointing, as the coating was much too thick compared to the small amount of rice filling inside. For our entrées, my husband ordered the Chicken Parmigiana. The chicken was unfortunately very dry and overly salted. I chose the pappardelle with short rib ragù. The fresh pasta was excellent--perfectly made with a wonderful texture--but the ragù was also overly salted, which overshadowed what could have been a great dish. One of the highlights of our evening was the service. Our waiter was attentive, friendly, and provided excellent service throughout our meal. The hostess, who may have been the owner, also stopped by our table to check on us, which we appreciated. Overall, this certainly wasn't the worst Italian restaurant we've visited, and there were several things we enjoyed. However, the entrées ultimately fell short of our expectations, especially for a special dinner.
