We came in today to celebrate my mom's wedding and Brittany was absolutely amazing! Could not have been sweeter. Great recommendations and even some macaroons (which were incredible) on the house! All our food was great. Wine too! Such a fun time and wonderful service!

Cute wine shop in downtown DG. Servers are friendly and attentive. Menu features wine, some cocktails, beers/ciders, and food. Try the cheese board -- it is excellent! Nachos and sandwiches are solid, too. Here is a pic of my white sangria. Hits the spot on a summer day!

Service was not great. Ordered stuffed mushrooms, truffle burrata and wine. Stuffed mushrooms were okay. 6/10 "Truffle" burrata, is pretty, but 2/10 Definitely not enough burrata and If truffle is going to be on the menu we should be able to taste a little bit of truffle. There was not a single trace of truffle, ZERO TRUFFLE I assume they mistakenly forgot, I NICELY mentioned it and the lady with blond short hair in a yellow shirt. She didn't seem like a normal waitress. She didn't apologize or check. She told me "well they put a little of it on there." Terrible response.. Definitely will not be coming back.

Yummy deliciousness with a side of fun& attentive service. This is a great local spot to enjoy a lovely glass of wine or a pint of their large variety of on- tap ale. The cheese board was delicious and although my friend and I each ordered a glass of wine, the server kept bringing us little tastes of something new to try which made it even more enjoyable!

One of our favorite spots in the neighborhood. They have a HUGE wine and drink selection with great food that pairs perfectly. Definitely recommend for a date night or a night out with friends.

Such a cute little wine shop in downtown Downers! We went on a Friday night around 5-6 pm, and we're able to get a table on the patio right near the sidewalk without a wait. In fact it was pretty slow, and picked up later through the evening. I was pretty confused if we should seat ourselves or pick out a bottle of wine and then sit. It wasn't really clear to me and I asked a staff member and he said we could do either. I hoped that meant they would bring menus, and luckily they did. They had a good wine selection, and a small dinner menu, which was perfect for us! Our table outside was kind of at an angle, and I would have loved if they had some background music or something playing, but otherwise the patio was great! Our server was fantastic, even though he seemed very busy - and we split a charcuterie board which was DELICIOUS! I definitely love their bread and the fig jam too! (Fig jam + goat cheese is a dream!) The prices weren't too expensive for a wine bar, and I would have loved to have try more on their menu. (Especially considering they had a FAKE CHICKEN salad on their menu, and I'm ALLL about places that think about vegetarians.) Great place for a glass of wine and a low key night!

It was 5:45, I didn't have a reservation, a they didn't have a table available until 7:30 but there were spots at the bar which they said was full service. My friend and I cozied up to it and ate there. What a surprisingly good experience. The staff was super friendly and that bartenders had great suggestions. I hate when people at the restaurant say everything is good. Not these young ladies. They made some sound suggestions which we followed. French onion soup and the steak frites were both excellent and priced well IMO. They have a really good whiskey/bourbon selection with a few hard to find bottles. I settled on a Blantons neat. They had Pappy, but I'm not wasting money on that anymore. Food came out quickly and we ate and watched a baseball game. The locals at the bar told us about their membership program where I guess for a small mo they fee you get a bottle of wine and a charcuterie plate once a month. Seemed like a pretty good deal. I don't live anywhere near there, but if I did I'd certainly join. In any case, if you live anywhere close, this is definitely a worthwhile restaurant to visit. Seems like there were quite a few singles there as well if you are looking to meet someone. I have no idea what the dating scene is like in Lemont, but this might be a good spot to try.

The WineStation and the half-price wine bottles on Wednesdays are great touches. They also have excellent happy hour specials, which makes it even easier to stop in after work or kick off a night out. It's honestly one of the better deals in town given the quality of the drinks. They've got gaming machines if you want to unwind and play a bit, and the old classic movies running in the background give the place a cool, unique vibe you don't see everywhere. Service is top-notch across the board. Every bartender I've had there has been outstanding, but Betty deserves a special shout-out -- she's friendly, sharp, and genuinely great at what she does. THE MALBECKONING…read more SixtyFour Wine Bar is a winning concept in downtown Naperville. Much like what Tapville Social does for beer, SixtyFour follows the concept of guests having the freedom to pour their own drinks. This place is on Water St in Naperville, near Vasili's and Blue Sushi Sake. Street parking isn't plentiful so the garage is your best bet, especially in the evening. You can build your own charcuterie, but use caution: everything is a la carte and without much effort that cute cheese platter can swell upwards of $40. This happened to us on our 1st visit, I thought "yeah sure, add a $4 honeycomb and seasonal jams, why not" to go with the $9 prosciutto, $7 manchego, and $5 cornichons. More recently, I got the restaurant week pre-fixe ($49) which included a starter, entrée, dessert, and glass of champagne. Each course separately would've added up to $55 (not counting the bubbly), so this option saved a few bucks. Both my wife and I got a pour-your-own wine card, that set us back about $20pp. The wifey got a mix of a dozen west coast & east coast oysters ($36) that came with cocktail sauce and a zippy pomegranate mignonette. The goat cheese bruschetta ($13) was incredible: goat cheese spread on several large pieces of grilled sourdough with roasted tomato and balsamic. We loved this and would get it again in a heartbeat. 5/5 The dates ($13) were a different story, however, as they came with cranberry goat cheese, orange honey, and crushed walnuts. I've been so used to savory dates (wrapped in bacon with a tomato sauce) that this much sweeter iteration caught me off guard. They weren't objectively bad, I just wouldn't order them again. 3/5 For my main course, I chose the short rib ($31) as I've done several times now: tender beef with mashed potatoes, braised carrots, crispy onions, and a red wine jus. This is a delicious entrée that I find myself steering towards every time I'm here, as it pairs perfectly with a Malbec or red blend. 5/5 The gnocchi ($33) were fairly pricey which I attribute to big chunks of lobster in a white sauce. But what SixtyFour did felt like a "bastardization" of gnocchi (my wife's words, not mine) by turning it into a homemade mac 'n' cheese of sorts, cooking it in a mini cast iron skillet topped with toasted breadcrumbs. Say what?! "Breadcrumbs" and "gnocchi" should never be used in the same sentence, unless it's "hey honey I did that grocery shopping, and I got beer, eggs, wine, gnocchi, ice cream, laundry detergent, kitty litter, AAA batteries and a box of breadcrumbs". It tasted fine, but there was absolutely no need to innovate here. 1.5/5 We reached a split decision on the dirty chai crème brûlée ($11). My wife thought it was different but lovely, whereas I found it strayed too far from vanilla custard and the flavor was overpowering, as if I just snorted tea leaves. It was REALLY strong, y'all! 3/5 Bread = 3.5 Circuses = 4.5 Our server Melissa was attentive and let us know about the wine tasting inside near the hostess' stand. We had a couple small pours (1-2oz) which equated to a free half glass, no complaints there. Restrooms were clean and the outside patio has a relaxing ambiance. The vibes are classy, romantic even. * TL;DR * It's fun sampling bold reds, sweet whites, and even rosé in 1oz, 3oz, and 6oz pours. I pity the fool who grabs a glass, sticks it underneath the first tap they see up front and presses 'POUR' without realizing they just selected a 2014 Chateau Haut-Brion ...... which retails for $500 a bottle! A half glass is nearly $75! I'll stick with a $7 Shiraz, thanks. As for the food, it's been mostly great with only a few exceptions. The gnocchi was whack, and the chai crème brûlée was polarizing. Due to the presence of delicate wine glasses literally everywhere, I would keep kids away from here. Leave the little ones at home and come here for date night. SixtyFour lists themselves as a wine bar first and kitchen second, which I agree with. If what you're seeking is a kitchen *and* wine bar, hit up a Coopers Hawk. Both places have solid wine selections, but being able to enjoy wine on-demand is a big plus. I'd happily recommend SixtyFour to friends and family.

NINETY-NINE BOTTLES OF BEER ON THE WALL…read more This bottle shop in downtown Downers Grove has a myriad of craft options. Prior to last weekend, every time I walked past Orange & Brew the lights were still off (they don't open until noon) so I had no choice but to peer longingly thru the windows into a dark business. I finally stopped in during normal hours with the family in tow on the first Saturday in August. I got a mix-and-match 4pk of IPAs + pilsners for my dad, who has oft complained about the lack of decent brewskis at my house. Well Opa, now you've got a quartet of 16oz craft cans to pick from, so no more grumbling about "only shitty light beer" in the downstairs fridge! They have a large cooler for people to take beer to-go. My wife grabbed a 4pk of rosé hard cider ($13) which she later claimed tasted too much like kombucha. I found it refreshing, like a Woodchuck or Strongbow with a gorgeous deep purple hue. Of course I had to play their four pinball tables on the left side ($1 per game). They had a Stranger Things (with snazzy UV kit upgrade!), Deadpool, 007, and Rick & Morty. The first three are newer Sterns that play decently, but R&M is a strange design from Spooky Pinball that I've yet to figure out. * TL;DR * Take one down, pass it around.....that'll be $6, please! Orange & Brew shares plenty of similarities with Beer Shop in Oak Park: brews on tap, assorted brews in bottles on a shelf, and a fridge full of cold brews to take home. The biggest difference is that O&B has pinball tables, and that bumps them up a star. The guy behind the counter who tapped my beer didn't smile (or even say thanks) when we cashed out. I got the feeling he was apprehensive about my wife and I bringing our 4yo & 1yo kids in here, probably afraid they'd crack open and chug a beer without paying. But seriously, they were very well behaved. If I'm in the area and Orange & Brew is open, I'm definitely stopping in for a cold pint and a few games of pinball. Check them out!
