I've been meaning to write this review for a while, but instead I've just been telling all my friends about Dolce! I originally wandered in for a facial and have gotten two now from Crystal, who is just the sweetest, prettiest, most lovely aesthetician ever. When I was paying for my second facial, Cris, the owner, asked who did my hair. I have thick, long, unruly hair, which I happen to love, and it seems like every time I get a haircut, stylists want to "tame" it instead of embrace it. When Cris showed me her super-long ponytail, I decided I'd let her take a whack at it. I'm so glad I did! That was the first time in several years that I actually loved a haircut. And the first time EVER that I have looked in the mirror after a cut without thinking, "it's so short!" She trimmed the ends while still accentuating the length and volume with layers. I left feeling like a million bucks. What's more, when I saw my fiance that weekend, he actually said (unsolicited) "wow, your skin looks so perfect and your hair is gorgeous!" He didn't even know I had gotten a facial or haircut, so this was just his honest reaction to seeing me. For my burly, bearded man to notice stuff like that? Amazing. My only complaint is that I found Dolce immediately before moving out of Austin. No doubt about it, I will travel the three and a half hours for an appointment as soon as I can! read more

I just had far and away my best salon experience since moving to Austin here at Dolce. My stylist Apple was gifted and gave me an outstanding cut and highlights. As a bonus, she was friendly and warm and so easy to talk to: the salon is comfortable but not super trendy: an ambience I really like. Visiting my daughter for the week. Found dolce on yelp. Called to get an appt. for a cut and partial color with low lights. To my surprise, they had an appt with Wes within the hour. It's a beautiful salon with friendly staff. I am very happy with my color and cut. Wes was very friendly and funny. I will come back when I need another cut. Went to Emily to get a keratin treatment, it came out absolutely perfect!! Exactly what I wanted. Smooth, straight and sooo easy to manage. (I already had mostly straight hair but was doing it for the smoothing and cutting down styling time) I was taken such good care of at this salon, they even brought me soup from a restaurant while I was doing the treatment (was feeling under the weather). Dolce is an amazing salon. I've had Wes do highlights and root color on my hair, and he did an excellent job. He is also incredibly friendly, and a pleasure to talk to while my hair is getting done. He takes time to get my blowout just right, and I came away happy both times. I'll admit that since my hair grows fast and I need roots done very often, he's out of my price range for color now. But if you make an appointment with him, you'll be delighted with the service and the results! read more

I just got my hair cut and styled by Terry, and he's the best! My hair turned out way better than I even imagined it to. My hair is naturally straight and thin, and usually very boring but after getting it done it looks so healthy, dense, and voluminous. He's by far the best hair stylist I've ever been to! We came here as previously we had a good experience when my son's haircut got messed up at another salon and Kimberly fixed it very well. Today we came for another haircut for my son. Upon arrival we were told she'd be with us in a few minutes. After 20 minutes of waiting I asked the receptionist if she's aware of her appointment and was told she was. We waited another five minutes ( 25 min total) and then told the receptionist that we had to leave. That's when our stylist finally walked up to us. When I told her we had to leave she said "I understand". It was really disappointing. Working in customer service myself I know that at least she should have offered to reschedule right there (not even mentioning a discount maybe to make up for our time). If we were 25 minutes late we would have been told that we cannot get the haircut anymore and also charged for it since we had a card on file. My husband was gonna move to this salon, so after all they lost 2 clients. Very very disappointing. read more

I've been going to Cris at Dolce for almost a year now and chose Cris because of her experience with hair extensions. I had been struggling to grow my hair out for years and wanted to try extensions to achieve a length I had never been able to with my own hair. Cris applied Hot Heads extensions to my hair and in addition to that she gave me tips and recommendations for how I could strengthen my own hair and scalp. I now go into the salon every 8 weeks to move my extensions up and over this year my hair has grown tremendously and scalp is healthier than ever. Cris displays the passion to help and improve her customers' hair and with her knowledge I have been able to care for my hair at home, the same way it would be cared for at the salon. Not to mention, Cris' flawless technique with balayage and color application. She does an amazing job blending my extensions with my hair and adding dimension with highlights. Cris also cut and colored both my hair and my Mom's hair before my wedding. There is no one else I will go to for my hair! read more

I cannot give enough praise and thanks to Cynthia and the Dolce salon team as a whole!! They have become my new hair home and they truly rescued me from a hair emergency... I had booked an appointment months in advance at my now "old salon" in Austin for my birthday. The other salon called and cancelled on me 15 MINUTES before my appointment, knowing it was my birthday, and refused to fit me into the schedule with anyone else!!! I called Dolce salon basically in tears, and Cynthia was able to fit me in immediately (even though it was almost 5 PM!!) She did an absolutely INCREDIBLE job on my hair (highlights, toner, and cut) and my hair is genuinely the best it has looked since I have moved to Austin!! I left with happy tears and have realized that everything happens for a reason! I had the best experience with Pedro about a month ago and have been meaning to write this review ever since. I had never ever had my hair colored or done much of anything with it besides haircuts, so I was anxious and not really sure what to ask for. I brought photos I had found with styles and color that I liked. Pedro gave me an awesome consultation, considering things I would never have thought of. He removed my anxiety and replaced it with excitement, as we endeavored down the 4 hour path to creating a new me. For four tireless hours Pedro worked on my hair all by himself. Could not have gone better!!! I used to drive to Houston to get my hair done after moving here but no longer. I went to Chris for the Brazilian Keratin Treatment and am very happy with the results. She took the time to talk to me about the treatment before hand and listened to my concerns. The procedure turned out perfect and I am very happy! And for those of you that have truly curly/kinky hair (like myself) she knows what she's doing. I found Cris about a year ago and have been thrilled ever since. She does a great job with cutting my somewhat curly hair and helping me cover the grey subtly. My hair looks great curly or straight now and has a lot of movement. I have never gotten so many compliments : ) She uses great products that help my hair looks its best even when I do it at home. I can't say enough about this salon!! From it's beautiful and amazingly talented owner , Cris Coleman...to its chic decor, super friendly staff and convenient location...hands down 5 star service. Now, MY stylist I have gone in to see PEDRO BOELITZ multiple times now with quite a challenge for him and he has knocked it out of the park each time. Once when I put a box color (gasp) on my hair. He rolled up his sleeves and worked his magic. I was so impressed with his correction of my mistake. Seriously, I don't know how he did it. Most recently I went in and , as we do, showed him a picture of the hair I wanted. He took the time to really look at the photo and understand what it was I was hoping for...and don't you know, I walked out of there with the exact look I asked for!! I can't believe it has taken me so long to write this review. Cris is absolutely AMAZING! I have thin, flat hair and while growing out my hair, I can never get through that awkward middle stage without chopping it off. Until I met Chris. She gave me an incredible style that looked even better as it grew out. I've tried a different style with her too and I really struggled to convey what I was looking for, and she totally nailed it! I wonder if that one negative review was really for Dolce Salon because in my experience, Cris is a fantastic listener. Where do I even begin? The entire staff at Dolce is one amazing crew. I followed Wes to Dolce (he's been working his magic on my mane for years) and I have been so abundantly pleased with the Dolce family. It's just a FUN place to get pampered! Facials, nails, makeup, the works! Wes is a hair guru, his techniques are superb and he truly listens to your input and needs, but also gives sound advice when you have questions. He uses Olaplex during color treatments, and once you experience the difference you will NEVER process your hair any other way. More than anything, he's sparkly, sweet, and makes you look forward to your time in his chair. He'll quickly become one of your favorite people, I know it! First time to this salon - and I'll definitely be a repeat customer. I had the good fortune to get Apple as my stylist and she is such a delightful person - and a kick-ass hair stylist!!!! She understood what I was trying to achieve and did a real good job with a precision cut (on dry hair - which I love!!). She also styled it so nicely in the end after blow drying. Great location...once you find it considering it's tucked deep into a grandiose West Lake shopping center. The staff is not overly knowledgeable, but nice. The salon is clean and aesthetically pleasing. The results are what you should walk away with from any reputable salon; however, the prices by a "master stylist" (owner) are double, nearing triple what I have experienced at other equitable salons in Austin. Normally I never leave reviews good or bad, unless I want to help others in my position. Truly this is a review left out of disbelief and to help other curly-haired gals who struggle to find good haircut places. I went to get a simple trim of an inch or so and lots of layering because I have curly hair. I had the lovely hair stylist apple, and she has great reviews. I was so disappointed I cried for a long time after leaving the salon and paying 80$ for a haircut that was the opposite of what I requested. First off she cut my hair dry, curly hair curls differently everyday especially fine hair, so I do not know why, but. was sure I was just not as knowledgable considering its her job. It was missing almost any layers when they are all I went in for. All over, several sections have random layers and several sections were not layered at all. The entire right side of my hair is longer than the left, and I had to get another haircut elsewhere after to get it evened and layers added to even out my hair. Everything else aside, she cut nearly 5 inches off when I asked to keep it as long as possible and showed pictures of long hair similar to mine ( i only wanted a trim.) Hair is important to confidence for me and my hair grows very very slow no matter what I do. This haircut took away more than a year and a half of growth when I was finally starting to feel pretty and left my confidence lacking. I cried a lot, and it still affects how I feel when I wake up and have to see my short unflattering hair. Ironically it was my birthday haircut and I will now spend the next year and a half growing back hair I did not plan on having cut off. Apple as a person was the most lovely person to interact with, I cannot stress how kind she was, so perhaps this was an off day. Nevertheless, she might need to adjust to cutting curly hair in the future, so other people do not go through this. This was the worst haircut I have ever had, and the most expensive. I do not want to be a rude person leaving rude reviews, but I hope no-one else leaves the salon crying or has to cut their own hair and schedule an appointment to fix it afterwards. At bare minimum, I want to leave with hair the same length all the way around. The damage is done and I will spend a year or two paying for it and spent my birthday crying. read more

I went here for my 17th birthday hair cut and style I was excited to get my hair done for my party so I showed up right on time. The stylist showed up 45 minutes late and didn't seem apologetic and also lacked any kind of enthusiasm that it was my birthday. Terrible experience in my first visit! Took appointment over phone and discussed what I'm looking for (single process full hair color + hair cut and I said I want dark brown for my hair). I was told it may cost based on hair length etc., I said my hair is shoulder length short. She replied, oh it's easy. It will cost $120 ($70 for color + 50 for cut). She assigned me Cynthia. When I reached, Cynthia looked through my hair, she already knew I want dark brown. She went inside and got the color and started coloring my hair. I was surprised she didn't even discuss what are the options for brown shades, did not show catalog at all, directly applied color she felt is right?!?! It was regular 40 min single process color!! After that she started cutting my hair, then I had to ask what cut she giving me.. she didn't even both asking me what I'm looking for.. How could anyone simply assume what color and cut is right for my hair, no discussion, no advice, no suggestion at all!! And above all, I was charged $150 by saying prices vary when we actually see your hair!!! It's $100 for hair color. It was not even hair correction. After examining my hair, Cynthia clearly said let's not go for hair correction. It's a longer process. She would go with single process. Then how did you reach to $100 for color. And BTW, I eventually didn't get dark brown either. It was BLACK. When I got home, I saw color around my forehead hairline too.. I'd never go there again and would never recommend anyone. Cris is the BOMB!! I've been thinking about getting extensions for months, but I was born with naturally extremely curly hair. I wanted to calm my curl without damaging my hair further, which I had been straightening on a daily basis. I also wanted to add volume with extensions, while maintaining the integrity of my natural wave. Cris curated a personalized plan for my hair, including a permanent straightening treatment (with less damage than conventional methods), toning my hair back to its original color, and machine-woven extensions matched to my original color. I have never been happier with my hair... I could not stop touching it and looking at myself in the mirror. Cris is the best out there & I 100% trust her with my hair. Gigi is the best! She has been the only one to color and cut my hair for years and nobody was more upset than me when she left LA! I still won't let anyone else touch my hair and wait until I visit Austin so she can do it. I've always had super long hair and I am super picky and she is the only person who has ever cut it the way I like it. She's always been meticulous and detail oriented when doing my color and even when I give her creative freedom (which I've never done before her) she still goes over every step so we are on the same page. Jami and Cynthia from Dolce are AWESOME! As a newcomer to the Austin area (I'm a native New Yorker), I was more worried about WHO would do my hair, than WHERE I would work. My fears were laid to rest when I found Jami and the team at Dolce Salon. We became fast friends as soon as I sat in the chair. Jami will make suggestions as to cut and color, but listens to you regarding your lifestyle and how well you are able to work with your own hair. No point in getting a haircut that you're not able to blow out the same way. And as for the rest of the staff, they are all just lovely and professional. Cynthia is an absolute doll and when you leave her chair, you'll be looking gorgeous. You're not just getting your hair done, you're spending an hour or two amongst friends.....so relaxing. Total strangers have asked me "where can I get my hair cut like yours, or "who does your color"?? or "your hair always looks perfect, where do you go?". Chris is a miracle worker with hair! i moved from Colorado and my hair had been damaged from the dry climate and over processing (couldn't find a colorist that could give me the correct blonde). when i moved to austin, a friend recommended Chris to me and OH MY GOSH, i couldn't be happier. she has brought my hair back to life and is by far the best colorist i've ever had. she does a BEAUTIFUL shade of blonde while restoring and maintaining the health of my hair. the salon in general is an awesome one stop shop!... amazing products, awesome energy, lovely staff, great location and parking!! read more

I went in with a Groupon for a blow out and make up application on my birthday thinking I would look great for my dinner party. My blowout left my hair completely flat on my head and my makeup made me look like a drag queen. All of the foundation, browser, and contouring made my face a dark shade of orange and my eye makeup looked ridiculous. I had to go home and wash it all off and do it myself. Let me start off by saying that this review is LONG overdue! I moved to Austin a few months back and was in desperate need of some hair-therapy. I have extremely thick, frizzy and damaged hair that requires a lot of love and attention. I am SO glad I found both Dolce and my stylist, Wes! Wes gave me the gift of beautiful hair! Never could I have imagined that my hair could look THIS good! Not only did he do an uh-maaazing job on my hair, he was wonderful to chat with. I took my two teen daughters for haircuts. The cost was about 50 dollars each and I expected somone relatively experienced to take care of them. When one of the stylists asked the owner how to "salvage my daughters" haircut, I was furious as my daughter heard and was upset. My daughter asked the stylist what happened and was told "it was nothing". There is nothing like trying to have a nice time with your daughter getting her haircut and then having her cry the whole way home because of bad hair and feel like its your fault. Anyway, I took my daughter to my stylist and for another 75 dollars got it fixed after the very botched hair job. I would not go back. For the prices they charge, they should not have stylists barely out of beauty school serving customers. read more

I am going to give just 3 stars because this was my first time and I had to wait looooong time because they made a mistake with my appointment. Service is good besides the waiting and everything else is good but the price for my short cut and my hair color was too much! I paid $200 and I was supposed to get a discount because of my wait but still.... $200?
