OMG i cannot say enough about how ABSOLUTELY AMAZING my experience with Pedro was. For context, I completely wrecked my hair during quarantine when I thought I could do my own hair color. I tried giving myself highlights (which ended in a terrible orange mess), then used box dye not once, but twice. To finish things off, I attempted cutting my own hair. My hair was a disaster when I walked in, to put things nicely. Pedro explained all of my options, included price points and maintenance each option would require, then gave his professional opinion. I don't know how, but he worked a complete MIRACLE. My hair had at least 3 different shades of colors in it (not including my new growth) and random chopped "layers" throughout. It was so gross and damaged, I was expecting to have to chop all my hair off and dye it dark brown to fix my mess. Pedro managed to not only fix my hair, but gave it such a beautiful color/highlights and bounce. I felt so transformed, I couldn't believe what I saw in the mirror. I am not exaggerating when I say that Pedro did the impossible. He was so kind, patient, encouraging, efficient, funny- everything you'd ever want in a hair professional. Tia is the best nail person I have ever found! I followed her from another salon to Dolce. She is an absolute expert with a pedicure. Never before has someone spent so much time and attention on my toes. And trust me, I inherited them from my Dad and they need serious help every few months or so! I got referred to Cris the owner by a mutual client of ours. I had gotten a COVID color and a horrible haircut that needed to be fixed, I had consultations with a few other hair professionals before I found out about Cris who had told me the color could not be fixed (jet black). Cris assured me she could and low and behold she was able to get me back to my natural dark brown hair. After that, we developed a plan for growing out the bad haircut and she encouraged me to get extensions. I was very reluctant because my impression of extensions was that they are "high maintenance" which I discovered isn't always the case, at least for me. Now 6 months later, my husband of 17 years says my hair has never looked better. I get so many compliments too! She also suggested I get a Brazilian blow out so now all I have to do is wash my hair and let it air dry and it comes out perfectly smooth, I now have my dream "wash and wear " hairstyle. Dolce was a great find as a go-to salon. I'm relatively new to the area, but really lucked out. I read through all the positive reviews, and was happy to learn that they were very well founded. I've been in twice so far to meet with Apple for coloring work--First for a balayage (my first ever), then for a root touch-up. Apple is lovely and so wonderful at what she does. In addition to being an amazing person, she's got an expert knowledge base and excellent people skills. She really listens to you and wants to make sure she understands what you want. The balayage was amazing and something I never thought my hair would be able to achieve! I was glowing walking out of the salon, even my significant other noticed! A few months later, I went for a root touch-up, which also led to great results! Some weeks later, it seemed like some of the dye used to cover my grey hairs started fading at the roots, which was a bummer, but I imagine that's the nature of dyeing stubborn grey hair in the first place and don't think that can be helped. read more

I have never written a review in my life but feel the need to for this experience. As a first time customer I booked at this salon to get color and cut with Terry. Terry was incredibly rude, as I tried to describe what I was wanting, she cut me off mid-sentence and basically told me she didn't want my long answer. Saying I didn't answer her question correctly. I told her I had cut some bad bangs which i was desperately trying to grow out and that I needed some length taken off. I also asked her if she wanted me to wear a mask (i offered-she did not ask) and she immediately shamed me and told me very rudely "that yes this is indeed Travis County and also that she cared for her health" in a very rude manner. She then proceeded to trim my bangs and add new layers (the two things I had said i did not want done) I told her this is not what i wanted and she told me she had only trimmed to "even out" as if to tell me to relax." (My bangs now do not tuck behind my ear) and i have shag layers around my face. I decided I wasn't comfortable with her coloring my hair so i left to pay for the cut. The owner, Chris, asked me what was wrong and I told her i would like to pay and leave and she was very generous and offered to finish the hair cut at no charge. So we did. She also was very eager to set up a time to color my hair before the weekend and we threw some times around and I was very happy that she was taking such an interest to fix the situation. She said she would call to arrange color this week. Well I just received a message telling me they can't fit me in for another 2.5 weeks after all. So at this point i'm realizing that Terry probably told her I was a problematic customer and they have decided to not waste their time fitting me in for color. When was the last time you got a hair cut so good you cried? This was my experience with Dolce and their stylist, Cris. Let me start out by saying, once upon a time I had a great haircut. After going in for a bang trim, some how, my previous stylist at another salon totally changed the entire look of the cut. A few slices here and there and suddenly my funky, texturized, sideswept bang look turned into a heavy, lopsided look with curtain bangs across my forehead. I work across the street from Dolce, and the next day on my lunch break I went in traumatized; looking for any solution to tame what felt like a shaggy dog on my head. The owner was kind, understanding and tried to get me in ASAP. Unfortunately, there was a miscommunication between myself and the stylist I was put with, so I left and decided to try and fix the mess myself. The owner (God i feel terrible for not remembering her name) contacted me, apologized for my experience there, and offered me a free hair cut with their top stylist, Cris. Even after missing that appointment (my fault entirely for entering the appointment wrong in my calendar) she reached out to me yet again, and made another appointment. This is when the magic happened. After relaxing in the beautiful shampoo room and getting the best scalp massage Ive had in years, I had a consultation with Cris. She listened to what I thought was wrong with my hair, let me vent about how it made me feel, and then offered a solution. She explained the "whirl" in the back of my head and how it effects the way my hair lays, how that plays a roll in how I style it, and how its a big part in how my hair is cut. She reset my part, and gave me the perfect bang for my face shape. I swear to God it took 10lbs off my face and immediately I wanted a new outfit and a margarita. And yes...I cried a little bit because I felt pretty again. If your experience in the salon doesnt leave you wanting a new outfit and a margarita, you're not getting the best. These ladies deliver. A review specifically for the lovely Emily who swiftly (and kindly) rescued my hair from a series of mediocre to downright terrible hair appointments over the last 8 months. I have seriously struggled since moving to the states to find a hairdresser that works for me - and have, as such, hopped all over the place trying one after another in the search for a normal highlight. The result was some disastrously stripy sections and terrible / severe regrowth. Emily took one look, showed me the damage - I won't pretend to know exactly what she did, some sort of witchcraft possibly - but I emerged just under two hours later with a uniformly golden mop - and two weeks later I still feel great about it. She's seriously great - delightful, knowledgable, efficient and very very very good at what she does. She took on board exactly what I wanted and I finished up with hair that looked better than it has for years. So pleased I've found her! read more

I went in for a keratin treatment before a long vacation out of the country, if you check their website you'll find this information on the treatment "Developed in Brazil, Beox Marrakesh is designed to reduce unwanted volume, frizz & unruly curls that will result in silky, shiny straight hair." I thought this would make it easier to manage my hair while on vacation, to cut down on my styling time, all I did was gain these problems! By the time I got home from the salon, I had tons of fly away's (breakage) and the back of my hair was bumpy, I waited the proper amount of days to wash and style, when that day came, I had a mess, my hair was harder to style than ever before, I had permanent wave making it very difficult to straighten, and tons of breakage! It took me twice as long to style my hair and it looked awful! I contacted Dolce about this problem, they had me come in so they could see it, the salon owner and the stylist said they have never had this happen before.... that Keratin won't "straighten" your hair? He re-trimmed and styled my hair using a flat iron and gave me a conditioner treatment to use once a week. I spent my entire vacation with frizzy, unmanageable hair with tons of breakage (a month long, very busy trip, looking ridiculous)..I didn't have any of these problems prior to this treatment, I simply wanted straighter, less wavy (as advertised) easier to style hair. Wes offered to redo the treatment when I was back from my trip. When I got back, I decided I didn't want to repeat the treatment and further damage my already damaged hair. They would not refund me the $310 that I paid for this treatment. Wes did offer to refund a portion of it, he deducted the haircut (which is understandable), and for the "free" conditioner that was given to me to try and help with the frizz? ..and the cost of the repeat keratin that I didn't have.. because I "denied the offer to repeat the treatment", even though I don't understand being charged for what wasn't done or for the conditioner that was given to me to try and help the damage...I agreed. I never received a dime, it has been many months of excuses, one after another! I have been way way beyond patient and understanding. This started last year, I have had email contacts repeatedly with promises of a partial refund but the only thing I have got was new excuses. It's a check, it takes 2 minutes to write and put in an envelope. I have provided my mailing address a couple of times. I don't know why there are such great reviews, I can only assume most are paid for since companies can pay for mass amounts of good reviews. The people who work at Dolce are friendly, the owner did talk to me about the issue once, but there was no solution offered. I wasted over $300 including a generous tip (not expected that back) and all I got was frizzy, damaged, unmanageable hair for my once in a lifetime vacation! Something wasn't done correctly, whether the product was bad or it was stylist error, maybe the flat iron was too hot. It didn't seem that all the hair underneath had been straightened during the process either, otherwise I would think it wouldn't be bumpy and wavy underneath. All and all it was a disaster and it was a huge problem during my vacation, I've known people who have extremely curly hair who have had this treatment elsewhere and their hair is stick straight. My hair was not unmanageable before this treatment. I would give 0 stars if I could. I'm very upset that I have basically been ignored and the Dolce did not refund my money for their mistake, that I have been given the run around for month and months despite being very kind and patient, not once did I complain in anger like most people would. I don't have that kind of money to throw away, I spent most of my savings, leaving only $100 in my acct. thinking it would be worth it..it wasn't!! I had horrible hair for many months. I wish I thought to dispute the charge instead of being kind and giving the benefit of the doubt..lesson learned. read more

I just paid $150 for a gel mani and express pedi???!!! They took my entire $150 Christmas gift certificate. All of it. I should have wondered why they asked me how much my gift certificate was for when I arrived. When I booked, I requested services FROM THEIR WEBSITE: a UT mani with gel ($30) and UT pedi ($40). This should have run me $70 plus tip, right? Wrong. At the end of my mani, the receptionist and owner (serving as my nail tech) decided to ask me to pay early since the salon was closing. Fair enough. What wasn't fair was that they then told me I'd been magically upgraded to the deluxe gel mani and pedi and this would run me nearly my entire gift certificate. I was given no exact price, though. So floored and confused, I did mention that I'd requested the UT nail services but was too floored to haggle further. The receptionist and owner managed to ring me up by taking my certificate fast enough but offered no receipt of any kind, no new certificate with any remainder of the original amount, nothing. Like others have said, the people here are very nice, the owner especially. So I'm torn about writing a bad review but I was really taken for a ride and I'm pissed! I don't know why the owner didn't question her receptionist about what was going on. I don't know why the receptionist never figured out what kind of service I truly wanted, since he was confused, before my manicure was begun (30 minutes late, by the way). I know I could call tomorrow and discuss it but I'm headed on vacation and, even if they reimbursed my gift certificate, I feel too awkward and angry to ever go back. So, be warned. Cris at Dolce Salon changed my life. Yes that's dramatic but I feel like it's true. I've been unhappy with my hair for the past few years but liked my stylist and didn't know why I was unhappy. I decided to try Cris based on reviews and research. She patiently listened to what I was trying to say... I don't speak hair color or style so it's hard! She explained to me that I basically had a subtle mullet cut and pointed out where I could see what she was talking about. She asked me lots of questions and said things in ways I could understand. Then I literally watched her transform my hair (subtly again) into a cut I love. I have curly thin hair that is kinda crazy. For the past couple years I've straightened it every day because I hated it curly. Now with the change to the cut, it looks so good and I wear it curly more! She's also a magician with color. I booked an appointment for an American Wave because I had an amazing one done the year before at another salon. Unfortunately, it turned out more like an 80's perm with super tight curls. I told her the rod size I wanted but she insisted on smaller ones for more volume and I trusted her opinion. The rods were not tight against my head so the area near my roots are not curled. She also trimmed it but left the back very long so I have these random long strands that don't blend well. I'm stuck with this hair for a couple months because the chemicals are harsh and no other salon will rewave it until it's healthier. I hate leaving bad reviews because everyone at the salon was nice but I have literally cried everyday about this hair. Obviously other people have had great experiences at this salon but if you're looking to get an American Wave done, I highly recommend going somewhere else. I was living in California for years and I had a lady who I would trust my first born child with because she was that good at making my hair breathtakingly incredible. Anybody who came next had some serious shoes to fill. Wes was that man! So I will start by saying that when I called to inquire about hair extensions I was pleasantly surprised by the lengthy time taken to explain each type that they offer. Wes explained to me that because I requested fusion he would like to do a consultation to make sure we ordered the right color. After some thought I decided tape extensions were more in my price range so I went with the brand they offer which is Hot Heads. Needless to say Wes is incredible and not even my mother can find the seam between my hair and the extensions. (She's a hair nazi) I also had my eyelashes done by krys and she was a godsend I didn't have to wear mascara for a month!!
