A good Optometrist but as we learned from the Costco Vision staff, as a rule he will skirt around the state law requiring giving patients a contact prescription for 2 years with the most spurious of excuses. So you'll only have 1 year to fill your contact prescription before having to return to him for another eye exam. read more

One time I tried a Doctor outside of Costco wondering if it would be different than an office inside a Costco and sure.. it was different... they charged me over $500 for glasses! (I got two pairs for less than that at Costco and hey included al the upsells) Also, Dr. D found an issue in my eye scan that was not noticed by the other Doctor so I was very happy that he was so thorough. read more

I really don't like changing my medical providers, but this will be my first and last visit here. If you can get an appointment Woodinville Costco Optometrist, go there instead. The front desk receptionist was very accusatory and blamed me for showing up 15 minutes late to my 3:00 pm appointment that was confirmed by text. I was there at 3:02 pm. She then rushed me through the preliminary exam, talked very fast, and in quick successions blew air into my eye like machine gun fire. Unless I'm either a) stoned or b) sustained brain injury, my eyes will blink with intact reflexes and repeatedly firing that annoying air will not get the results you want. Unless your objective is angering your clients...... The exam by the optometrist was alright.... was quick and rushed through like a cattle herd. If you have medical insurance, you're better off going to optometrist at Lens Crafters or privately run establishment. This particular office could definitely have used another receptionist at the front. The front desk person was rather stressed and this trickled down to horrible customer service and poor patient experience. read more

On 07/6/23, I brought my mom for an eye exam at Kirkland Costco. It was because my mom need a new pair of glasses with an updated prescription. She had a cataract surgery in HK and got a new pair of glasses before she came to visit us in December. Recently, she complained that maybe her prescription changed and sees thing blurry. We first approached the optical department in Issaquah and the sales lady is very professional and patient to check my mom's glasses and try to fixed it by adjusting the arms for her. She explained to us what is wrong with the focus on the lenses. That is why we decided to do the exam in Costco. We have scheduled it in Kirkland Costco. And I have called and explained that my mom is a tourist and she needs a pair of glasses and her condition (cataract surgery before she came to visit us). I was not told that Dr. Cindy Hung) need the updated medical record from the doctor which will be helpful for her to diagnose. I was blamed by her. On that day, I had an appointment at 10:00am. But we were late for 8-10 mins. When we arrived, the girl in the reception gave my mom an eye check. She is very kind and patient with my mom because the machine didn't capture my mom's left eye data. I told her I am sorry and she said it is ok and she tried to redo it for her couple times. She told me maybe it is a bit late to get into see Dr. Hung. So we went to see her & get the exam started. I would say Dr. Hung is a very impatient doctor because she asked me a lot of questions that won't give me time to explain at all and then asked another questions. That really frustrated me. She even asked me some medical questions that I don't know how to answer. I told her you should be the one to tell me and give me advice otherwise why I have to come to see you. She blamed me that I didn't have the my mom's medical record handy, and I told her I can call to HK and asked for it and send it to her in the afternoon. But she ignored me. I told her I have called ahead and told them about my mom's situation before, and I was not told the medical record is necessary. After 15 mins at 10:30am, she told us it is late already for the next patient and felt bad about it. (Wow, just 15 mins, she is already impatient)I am wondering what is an eye exam usually took? I would have reschedule for another time to have the exam if I know it takes longer for an elder person to get eye examined and the machine was not working or my mom was not doing the right thing so the data was not captured) For me, my doctor usually spend 45 mins to an hour to finish the exam and patiently to explain to me what is my condition. Therefore, she said she has to exam my mom's eye very quick. I felt stressed when she did it to my mom, 1 better or 2 better, 3 better or 4 better and so on, each time she only gave my mom 5 seconds to think. My mom is 80 years old, It is so hard for her to recognize which is better within a couple of seconds. Even I feel stressed too. Not to mention, I have to translate for her what to do, even my mom understands English, she has a hard time to understand what Dr. Hung was asking. She speaks so fast and didn't care my mom understand what she was asking at all. Her instructions what my mom needs to do is bare minimum. I have been to eye exam so many times, so I know what she wanted. Therefore, I told my mom what Dr. hung wants her to do. When I interpreted to my mom, Dr. Hung asked us another question. She has no patience at all the entire visit. What she wanted is just get the exam done and go to the next patient. Just 5 mins before the exam is finished, she told me my mom's prescription is the same as the one she has on her glasses, and there is no reason to get a new pair of glasses. In the last 2 minutes, she suddenly told us her left eye got improved, and I asked what does it mean, does she need a new pair of glasses since only 1 eye is improved but not the other. She ignored me again. After wcame out from her office, I asked whether she needs my mom's medical record, she answered rudely that there is no point to give it to me because we finished the exam already. Her didn't care about attitude shows on her face entirely. That is the worst experience we had. Afterwards, I compared to the manager, and she said she is very talented. To me, talent means nothing because the way she treated patient is rude, impatient and just want to get over with. Afterwards, the manager asked me what we want and she offered me to reschedule an appointment with another Dr. I refused because I have no trust to your clinic anymore. Then, she offered to give me a refund. Afterwards, I also complained to the Costco floor manager and told him about what happened. I told him we booked the exam with your clinic because the sales lady from the Optical department is so professional, kind and patient to my mom. And we expect the same service from the clinic but it was not the case. We were told your clinic does not belong to Costco. No wonder!!! read more

While I am sure Dr. Dolgoff is great, his staff is unbelievably unprofessional and it was the WORST eye experience I have ever had. I will never come back and I will tell everyone I know to never get your eyes checked here. Cindy Hung checked my eyes and she was okay, but very short and not personable at all. She acted like she was annoyed that I was there. However, the worst part of this experience is the front desk staff. They are HORRIBLE. I have never been so offended by ANY front desk staff than this place. They were extremely short and rude about any question I asked. They herd you like cattle in and out and they have one of the messiest offices I have ever seen. I thought I was doing a favor by going to an eye doctor inside Costco since I love Costco so much. However, this was a HUGE letdown and I am honestly really upset by my experience. The cheaper price is not worth all of the attitude and mess I dealt with. I know Dolgoff might be a great doctor, but when you have reviews about nasty staff members for 4+ years, you might want to make some changes. read more

very rushed ! they do not take vsp insurance and are not willing to do paperwork after you pay. avoid !

This is the second time visiting Dr. Dolgoff's office and will say definitively it's my last. When they call you, they normally tell you to make sure to take Costco parking into consideration (especially on a Friday) to be there by 3:15 to update paperwork. My appointment was for 3:30 and I found parking early so I ended up walking up to them at 3:05. I figured I would see how they were running - maybe with luck they could take me early. The short lady with long hair took my name and then told me they were running behind. I asked "well, how far behind are you running because I don't want to wait for too long." You see, usually when someone says they are "running behind" it should mean they are running behind their scheduled appointments which would mean they are going to be late for my 3:30 as well. I didn't want to be waiting there an hour to be taken after 4. Well the lady that I was talking to said, "So you don't want to wait even though you are A HALF HOUR EARLY??" in snotty tone. I said Im okay with waiting but not if they are running way behind. Again, she said, "EVEN THOUGH YOU'RE A HALF HOUR EARLY". Now I really didn't need this attitude and I had 2 other bad experiences here so I said, "You know what, I'm just done with this place. I'm going to have you guys just transfer my records to my new doctor." She then steps out of her office area and lowers her voice and said, "I really wish we could talk about this outside of this workplace because I'd really tell you a thing or two. You like to come in and bully people to try and get your way. You're just a bully aren't you." At this point I was mortified. This woman basically wanted to "take me outside" but didn't even bother to see how aggressive she was being from the start. NO ONE has to take this. The biggest issue is that she didn't even bother to try and understand what I was actually saying. I guess when I told her I was going to find another doctor, she decided to make my exit even more memorable. The Doctor himself is a nice guy however he has an extremely rude staff and this one in particular probably was a truck driver prior to working for him. I did go complain to Costco as I have been a long-time member in good standing there. Never EVER again... read more

I agree with other yelp posters about their staff. They are so short with every patient I witnessed. Like we are all bothering them by being there. I was even a few minutes early to my appt and they seemed annoyed. Every single thing you do annoys them actually. Dr. Dolgoff is personable and really cares about you. Dr. Lie is also great. I have been going here annually for ten plus years and I am very happy. They always find a convenient time to get me in. I feel that my eyes are well taken care of. I have recommended this office to many friends and family. I pay out of pocket so the price is right as well. read more

Needed my annual eye exam & insurance changed so I came back to see Dr. Dolgoff. I had been using his services when I didn't have insurance, some years back. He provides a low cost eye exam with excellent knowledge and care. This is one case where you get much more than you pay for. Even though he is located inside Costco, you do not need to be a member for an eye exam. You do need to belong to Costco to purchase glasses next to his office, however. He has two other doctors associated with him, both young women whom I have been told also are awesome optometrists. This time of the year you can schedule a quick turn around from appointment to visit. In my case it was next day. If you need a quality eye exam, even if you are diabetic like I am, this is the place to go. I highly recommend them. read more

I've been getting my eye check-ups from this location for awhile now and was pleasantly surprised to see that they now have a female optometrist in the office. Joy! The last guy I had was stale-smelling and not very sociable. He also screwed with my prescription, assigning me contacts that were too weak and since I was only visiting at the time, I had ordered a years worth of contact lens of the wrong prescription. I can't remember her name, (Cassandra...? Ahh not too sure) but she's very friendly, informative and patient while you try to figure out whether 1 or 2 is clearer or if 3 or 4 is blurrier. You also don't have to hold your breath when she comes in for a closer look at your eye(s). *phew* She also made it as painless as possible to get the eye test where they put that stinging eye drop in to take a closer look at your cornea. Or is it retina... ahhh after being almost blind all these years, I still can't get the lingo correct. Anyway, the office ladies are also friendly. And another good surprise is that this office accepts Premera members! Whoohoo! read more

I got my checkup with this office as well, which is inside Kirkland Costco on the other side of the cash registers. I called for an appointment in the morning, and was able to get one same day at 5:30PM. Awesome! Its very convenient. The staff was very friendly and sociable. I was examined by the female doctor as well. She was funny, patient, and easy to talk to. The patient part caught me off guard. I've had bad luck with most OD's. Usually my exam would be like this: "1-2... 3-4 ... which one?! HUH??? HUH??!?!?!?!" The lenses I got were spot on, and they helped me pick out the perfect frame. .... oh and um... the female doctor was gorgeous. read more

This review is for the Office Staff only. Like other reviewers, the whole attitude of the staff is of rudeness and impatience, from the time you're lucky enough to get through on the phone to the appointment experience. Check in is an assembly line with continued annoyed attitudes that you're even there. Today I tried to call to ask a question and was put on hold for over 10 minutes each time. I also got voice mail twice. I have have been VERY HAPPY with Dr. Nguyen however. She's been great with my difficult contact lens prescription (mono vision/astigmatism) and works to find the prescription that works for me. I will continue to go there only because of her. I also can get an appointment almost the same day I don't understand why Dr. Dolgoff doesn't take heed of these reviews of the staff and clean house. read more

I think the doctor should get a new receptionist cause the lady who answered my call was rude. I called to inform them that I might be five minutes late because of something that was beyond my control. She started getting mad and saying that I would then be 20 minutes late. I told her that the reminder text message that they sent says the appointment is at 6PM, so I should then be five minutes late. She then said that the text message system that they use is incorrect. Told her that the text message was very misleading and that they should fix it. She then proceed to tell me that they can't fix it and might not want to see me because of how late I am. I told her that I would not come in then even though I have almost arrived. Why would I want to pay a place for a service that has an ill mannered staff? After I refused to come, she insisted that I just come in.... I'm glad I didn't cause it seems like I am not the only one who thinks that the doctor needs better staffs. A lot of reviews here complaints about the same issue. The doctor might be good, but the receptionist is the person who gets people to come in. read more

Dr Cindy Hung was very unprofessional. The eye exam and testing part went just ok. I did not feel like she paid much attention. She just look at the computer at the time while talking to me. She did not tell me about the condition of cataract that Dr.Dolgoff found in last checkup (as if she really cared to). At the end, she did not bother to answer the question I had about the prescription she gave. When I obviously looked confused and was trying to clarify, she rushed me out by saying "she would meet me at the counter", only to see her going out and getting next patient! All I know is either I or any or my friends will not go to see her again. read more

This review is for the Office Staff only. You can refer to my post from 2017 where I stated that the office staff needs work. Well...they REALLY need work even more so now. My girlfriend had her annual checkup​ the other day (for the first time at this office) and words cannot explain how rude the office staff was to her. One of the office staff ladies spoke to my girlfriend in an​ extremely rude tone her entire visit and essentially yelled at her when my girlfriend asked her a question. It is a conflict for me in regards to returning to this office for the optometrists in this office, specifically Dr. Dolgoff and Dr. Nguyen (we have only seen these two doctors), are affable and professional, but the office staff lady who screened my girlfriend is ridiculously rude and unbearable. It's unfortunate because it's extremely convenient to go to Costco and get your eyes checked by really good optometrists, whom we really like, but it is worth being spoken to by ungracious staff members? The doctor was fine. The problem is with the payment. When I first arrived, the person doing intake didn't believe they accepted my insurance, even though I have Premera. I just wanted to get the transaction completed, so I had her swipe my debit card for the full $85. At some point the rude intake person ran my insurance and recognized that they did accept my insurance and that I should have only paid $20. She ran my card for the $20 and supposedly credited me the $85. Fast forward 2 weeks - I recognized that I had not received my credit. I called. I spoke to a different woman who told me she would call me back on February 17th. I never received a call. I gave everyone a little extra time to process, but when I received the statement from my insurance company this weekend that Dr. Dolgoff had been paid by them, I checked my account again. Low and behold, I am still out the original $85. I called the Dr's office again today and the person who answered the phone needs some training in how to deal with customers. Basically, they are saying it is my problem and I have to prove to them that I overpaid. Not good. If you don't mind being incredibly over-charged and dealing with rude customer service people, then by all means visit, if you prefer to work with people who are actually interested in servicing customers, look else where. UPDATE: I am horrendously remiss for not posting sooner. Kudos to Dr. Dolgoff. Upon hearing of my review, he checked out my claims and immediately acted to resolve my complaint. The doctor made good and I appreciate everything he did to make things right for me. I appreciate your efforts. It doesn't eliminate the less-than-wonderful-customer-experience, but I do appreciate your quick action and efforts to rectify the situation. read more

I am writing this review due to the great customer service that was extended to me recently at the office of Dr. Brian Dolgoff. I developed a blister on my eye which caused me both pain and discomfort. I became quite concerned. While at the Kirkland Costco I stopped by the optometrist's office. Although his day was booked Dr. Dolgoff willing skipped his lunch to examine my eye. He was very friendly and patient. He listened to all my questions and concerns regarding the blister and took the time to explain things to me after completing a very thorough examine. I am very impressed with the level of care and overall experience I had with Dr. Dolgoff and his staff. He definitely goes above and beyond for his patients. I am very sad to say that the customer service by the support staff is a shame. :( I went physically in to get my prescription and I was then told my prescription was only for 6 mo. I was told I would need another exam. It wasn't a bad experience but not pleasant, I simply was told hurriedly and a matter of factly. A few days later I called and tried to make an appointment. The customer service I received over the phone was extremely unprofessional. She argued with me that they didn't give 6 mo prescriptions. She then checked my insurance and the whole time acted like she was extremely upset and annoyed that she was even on the phone with me. She was very, very rude. I have never experienced such poor customer service. It ended up that they do not accept my insurance and it's for the best because I would never recommend this place solely based on the professionalism of the office and receiving only a 6 mo prescription. I am very disappointed in all aspects of communication with this establishment. read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Dolgoff's for over 12 years now, and have always appreciated his professionalism and willingness to take the time to get my prescription just right. I have not yet had trouble with the office staff, perhaps they are not the friendliest but I feel bad they are expected to work in such cramped conditions. I am sad to write this review but, in the day of internet one must be aware of all aspects of their business. I have seen Dr. Dolgoff for the past 3 years and never had a bad experience with him. My exams have been thorough, he has answered any questions I had and had my charts ready everytime. The reason I am giving this rating has nothing to do with the doctor but everything to do with his staff. After many attempts to get through to book an appointment I finally called the eye glasses department and was transferred to someone who answered the phone. There is no voicemail available to leave a message, it just rings endlessly. The day of my appointment came and I realized that my new insurance was not showing Dr. Dolgoff as a provider. I called and called and called to never reach anyone to inquire if they accepted my insurance and if need be to cancel. 16 minutes into my would have been appointment the receptionist called me and asked if I was "no showing" I explained that I had tried to call but no one answered. Expecting to hear, "I am sorry" I, instead, heard nothing because she hung up on me! I called back and confronted her about hanging up on me and she said that she would, "tell 'them' that I said I couldn't cancel because I couldn't get through." and hung up on me, AGAIN! I am sorry, Dr. Dolgoff. You are a nice doctor who does a good job but, it is so hard to make an appointment or change an appointment that it is tempting to go elsewhere and to be treated so poorly is unacceptable. I will never be a patient of someone who has a staff that cares so little about the people they service. There are too many doctors to choose from and I choose not to be treated poorly. read more

I love Dr. Dolgoff, he always remembers me and stuff about my life, impressive considering I usually only go every other year or once a year. He is really friendly, nice and knowledgable. His front desk ladies aren't always the nicest, but if you kill them with kindness they will come around, not everyone can be great with customer service every single day. My recent problem is that I finally got vision insurance and they won't cover him, so I had to go to a new doctor that just doesn't compare to Dr. Dolgoff! read more

Love Dr. Dolgoff. I've been going to him for about 15+ years - not really sure how long. He is always personable and caring. Both qualities needed in a doctor. I've also had "issues" throughout the years and he is more than eager to refer me out for a second opinion. He's not one to think he knows everything which is also refreshing. I was just there on June 2, 2015 and had a fabulous experience with the receptionist people as well. Very professional. I even left my cheapo readers there and they called me later that evening to make sure they were mine. read more
