I don't know what…read morehappened but unless you know for sure your nail tech is good and happens to work here DO NOT GO HERE. I went in on Monday at about 6pm to see if I could get my nails done. The ladies had their coats on, apparently heading out so I asked for an appointment for a full set. Now something told me with the way they kind of nonchalantly disregarded me that I shouldn't have. But I did and I went back. Because again, they always had really good people. But ALWAYS READ THE YELP REVIEWS before visiting a place, I was relying on past experiences and I did not read them. Because if I had I would have saved myself the torture. So I get there. And a guy comes from the back. He's definitely new, and I told him I wanted a new full set so he proceeded to clip around in a manner that was surely going to damage my nails and eventually cause me pain. So I asked for a pedicure. I figured that would give me time to soak my nails off. He put a bowl of acetone ON MY LAP for me to soak both of my hands in. And I had to tell him to get me another bowl so I could have one for each hand so that I'd be able to move my feet the way he needed me to move. That was a mess, my feet are hard and dry now, I'll need to treat them and moisturize them myself over the week myself. I had to ask about cuticle remover and he said he didn't need it. That it was in the soap‍. So after that ordeal, I already knew I should have just left. I mean first of all, the shop was empty. I mean a ghost town. In at least 15 years I have never seen it like this. I can't imagine what happened. Unless one of the good nail techs got their own spot and just everyone went there. But this is not what it used to be. There was no way I was getting a full set so I said just give me a gel manicure instead of a full set. And you have the pictures to see how that turned out. He plucked and pulled at my skin around the nails. I have long nail beds, a good nail tech would not push my cuticles back much because of it. But this guy...I had to tell him that. And he kept tapping my hand and twisting my fingers. I'm double jointed and my hands are abnormally flexible. I don't know how he manages with anyone else.

There was a cancellation, and they were able to taken the appointment within the hour. Express Nails stands amount a strip of salons and boutiques in a quaint pink Victorian building. The inside is cozy and decorated very well. The salon is run by the owner and her daughter; both were extremely kind and welcoming. I opted in for my usual dip manicure, which was done by the owner herself My nails were weak and brittle from having dip removed a few days before my visit her. She did an incredible job throughly applying layers of strengthening polishes between the layers of the dip manicure. She was very friendly and engaging; I loved talking to her throughout my service. She didn't make me feel rushed at all despite me being visiting last minute The result of the dip manicure was beautiful. I was much happier with the result of this dip manicure compared to others I've gotten in the area. While I haven't tried every nail salon in Yardley Borough, I'll definitely be revisiting Express Nails.

I came into the shop on Friday at 3:45pm as a walkin pedicure and was told it'll be a 20 minute wait. No problem. 3-4 other customers walked in after me at different times with scheduled appointments. Still no issue I understand as a walkin I am not at a higher priority than someone with an appointment. I still remained patient because I did not feel like driving to another shop with no guarantee of immediate service. Finally I was seated at 5pm, waited another 15-20 minutes before actually getting my toes cleaned and prepped. Nobody apologized for the delay, or even acknowledged the duration of my wait. STILL I was kind, patient and appreciative obviously seeing they were having a busy evening. My toes were done in an hour , a small cut on the big toe which I didn't make a fuss over and I was satisfied with the results overall. But thing that bothered me most was when it was time to pay. My money was snatched from my hand and instead of putting my change in my hand it was firmly put on the counter. I still tipped the stylist regardless. Providing a service goes way beyond just knowing how to do the service. Coming into a beauty establishment you want to FEEL like you're in good hands. This establishment did not execute in that department. After spending 2 hours in the shop I was still treated with attitude as if I were the issue.

I continued to be disappointed at other salons and at a high price for the service I was receiving. I found Brenda online by accident, and I am glad I called to make an appointment. It was easy to get an appointment that worked for me the same day. Brenda herself made the experience! Brenda was super down to earth and friendly. She suggested that I try a product called Gel Plex instead of the builder gel I have had for a long time. She explained the process of applying this product in a way I could understand - and usually I am confused by how these procedures are different from each other. I am glad I took her suggestion, because Gel Plex is less expensive than builder gel and feels natural and light. Brenda's salon is beautiful and being there makes you feel happy. It feels like a very family owned and operated business which is what I like supporting. I am beyond THRILLED with the results of my nails, they have not looked this good in a very long time. Brenda understood exactly what I wanted my nails to look like and did a fabulous job. Also, her price was reasonable which is often hard to find in this area.
